If Peyton Manning Leads The Colts To ___ Wins Next Season, He Deserves Unanimous Mvp

Recommended Posts

There's the post of the day....sarow...

You win two tickets to the Colts game at NE next week!!!

(Second prize was four tickets..)

lol, I heard him say he is not even cleared to swing a golf club, I hate to say it but, I am starting think that seeing Manning yelling at coach (and i use that term loosly) for his idiodic timeout was his last act in a colts uniform, but I hope im wrong.

Holding out hop..LUV..

but I've got to admit as Dec.1 comes up....I'm worried about him not being cleared..

..and then we are in limbo until next August really...

I heard him say he is not even cleared to swing a golf club,

One of the announcers mentioned this in the broadcast multiple times with disbelief, as if swinging a golf club was trivial. I really don't understand.

I'm not a golfer, but it seems to me that swinging a golf club involves leveraging nearly every muscle in your body, while going through an extremely wide range of motion. As someone who had the same surgery as Peyton, I'm fairly confident that swinging a golf club with any kind of torque would be significantly more challenging than throwing a football.

If he comes back next year and the Colts make the playoffs, he will be in the MVP conversation for much of the year - but if someone is having a year like Rodgers is having this year, they will be hard to ignore. Now if he is having a comparable year to the other candidates, I would think that "the tie goes to the person whose team was horrendous without him".

Yes but your head and neck are the only two things you don't move in a golf swing, until the follow thru.

The thing about the schedule is that it wont be muchhaasier. Chargers might end up in last place n so will the browns. Itll be like what this year was supposed to be. One hard team in the pats n one easy one in kc this year. Next year one hard in the chargers n one easy in the browns. I expect to still win a lot of games next year n i think peyton will definitely get mvp.

If he suits up next year and plays all 16 games then he wins MVP and CPOY. Yes I'm jokingly exaggerating....but not by much.

As for the golf swing thing....I would imagine that he has not been cleared for ANY type of athletic physical activity that would involve any use or movement of the shoulders/neck/arms....including swinging a golf club, tossing a bowling ball or even playing ping pong until the fusion has completed. So yeah, the fact that he's not cleared to swing a golf club should come as a surprise imo since he's also not been cleared to throw a football.

Yes but your head and neck are the only two things you don't move in a golf swing, until the follow thru.

But you move a ton of muscles, tendons, ligaments, vascular and nerve tissue attached to the head and neck. Swinging a golf club is infinitely more strenuous on a body than throwing a football.

The phrase was poorly chosen, as if to suggest golf is "easier" than football. Which it isn't. Some math nerds at Oxford proposed convincing probability logic that shows an athlete is more likely to win 3 Super Bowls than even one of the PGA Majors.

With the easy schedule we should get next year, we should have at least 12 wins! :)

We won't have an easy schedule. The record you finish with only affects 2 games.

I believe its four since the Colts only have 3 other divisional teams. 6 divisional games. I could be wrong though, its happend many times. :)

I think if the colts were to finish 8-8 or better next year with a healthy Peyton at the Helm, he is undeniably the MVP again, and its no longer an argument who the greatest QB of all time is......Good Lord I hope that doesnt spark an out of control debate!! :(

I'm sure that we'll all welcome an out of control debate if it means that Peyton is in top form again.

Yeah, it's two games. You play 6 in your division, 4 against an entire in-conference division, 4 against an entire other-conference division, and two games against the two other teams who finished in the same position as you in the other two divisions. I'm pretty sure that we play the NFC north next year (which might well be harder than playing the NFC south like we did this year - particularly if we end up on the road to Chicago or Green Bay after the weather turns), and I'm pretty sure that we play the AFC east next year, which may be a little bit easier than playing the AFC North like we did this year, unless - same problem - we end up on the road at Buffalo or New England or New York after the weather turns. It's way too early to tell whether that will be an easier schedule or not, but without the NFC west or AFC west in sight, there isn't likely to be a whole lot of difference.

So the two extra games are going to be Cleveland (who we probably walk over if Peyton plays), and either KC or SD (who would probably still find a way to beat us even if they were losing to everyone else.

Bottom line, I wouldn't count on an easy schedule next year. Although after a year like this, it's hard to view ANY opponent without trepidation.

    • I must be reading different things.....     Oh well.... it will all come out in the end   If we end up with him at our 2nd and we get Paye....  Im a happy camper
    • I would absolutely have loved to join, but with planting season here I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
    • All Colts fans will go into a lottery, and will select their preferred team based on the lottery outcome. I'll send a private, ordered list of posters/GMs to @chad72 and one other poster. @NFLfan, who will not have the list, will use a random number generator (like the link below). He will publish his random list, and Chad will publish his. The list will be mashed up, and result in the GM order (who will then pick their teams).   Example: List provided to Chad   EastStreat Chad 72 Danlhart87 Nickster MPStack ......   NLFfan uses a random generator for range of 1-X (in the case above, 5) and comes up with  4 1 5 3 2   The two will be paired, and the result would be   1. Chad72 2. MPStack 3. Nickster 4. EastStreat 5. Danlhart87   So Chad would choose first (likely the Colts), followed by MPStack and so on...    I know it sounds complicated, but it's extremely easy, and fair.   For fans of an opposing team, they'll get their team assuming they want their team, and there are no other opposing fans that want them too (Joe get Pitt for example, If NFLfan were playing, he'd get MN).
    • Cosmi has always been further back in the tackle ratings by the experts.  Not a 1st rounder in most eyes.  When you look at overall player rankings he winds up in the 2nd. Rd.
