Brown was okay..... Not the best of the bunch but really aren't gonna get much this stage of the season

Ruggerio sounds familiar for some reason........

Ruggiero was with us in minicamp.  Played for Bridgewater St.   He is a non stop motor.  Played DE in college at 245...we signed him as an inside backer.

Very interesting moves... especially with Brown at CB..guess they like what we have at Safety over the ones available on the market... according to Stampede Blue they worked out Chris Clemons last week... it will be who will use at Safety... they may try Purifoy with some scenes ... who knows...

I am with TK on one thing I have read in other threads.  I am starting to wonder if Purifoy may play some safety.  He has incredible speed, and he will hit you...

That is if he does not get into any Rodgers-esque trouble.  I am still worried about him being in the car with Da'Rick.

Chandler "Jet" Jones, WR, San José State - NFL Draft ...

"Jet" Jones.  I like it.

Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview: Chandler “Jet” Jones, WR, San José  State

Chandler Jones walked onto the Spartans team as a true freshman and had a terrific five seasons with the team. He is currently the San José State career leader for receptions (248) and touchdown receptions (29) and second in receiving yardage (3,087). He is also the Single-season school record-setter with 15 touchdown catches. Chandler is also one of two players in NCAA history to score a touchdown rushing, receiving and by fumble recovery in the same game in the 2011 Hawai’i win (10/14).  This kid is nicknamed “Jet” for a reason, the 5’9 wide out can burn up the track.  Expect him to be a playmaker at the next level.

It should also be noted that Jones ran a 4.34 40 at his pro day at San Jose State and a sub-4.3 at the 49ers pro day making him the second fastest receiver trying out for an NFL team this year

With us signing cornerback J. Brown to the 53 it does kind of make me wonder if we have any plans to use Purifoy as a safety. Who knows?

The only thing that will probably happen to Purifoy is the team will punish him. Idk how but i dont see the NFL or legal action taking effect.

What is the deal with Chris Clemons? He goes from the projected starter in Houston then cut prior to week 1 and still unemployed. I would love to know that story.

I expected Brown on Sunday anyway regardless of a signing. He wanted to have a bigger role now here's his chance.. make the most of it.

The Jet is interesting. Does he have any return experience?

It is kind of lame that we are signing a CB after trading Burley away but those are the breaks.

I'm still wondering what's the deal with Clemons.  It has to be that his name recognition is better than his on field play.  He'd certainly have a job by now if he was decent.

We weren't expecting our WR to go joyriding or our safety to be pumping the juice

At the time we had too many CB's, Burely wasn't gonna see the field. Would've now but none of us can predict the future unfortunately

Grigson is good, but not that good haha

Didn't Chuck Pagano tell us not to pay attention to the depth chart?

Pagano says a lot of things like "Werner is a beast", "I think we are fine at safety"!  This is an updated depth chart with all the new people in place. They've got Dewey Mcdonald in the right place.  It's got Brown listed as the starter at safety which in all likelihood is what will happen on Sunday.  I am inclined to believe Shipley will still be the starter, but I still had to question what I saw.

Hmmm..... They better keep Shipley as the starter.

Not the game where you wanna be playing musical linemen in against the Ravens defense

The new updated depth chart even has Jalil Brown listed in the right place as the third backup behind Toler and Purifoy. It's just odd to me that every body else got put in the right place, but an error with Shipley? It could possibly be the truth, but I would not be surpised at all to see him starting on Sunday.  I just had to point it out.

They also list Purifoy as the number one punt returner.

FWIW

Another thing that it could mean is that Purifoy will be inactive this week as part of his punishment for being in the car with Rogers. Just speculating, I'm not saying that is what will happen, but it's another possibility.

    • You think the Ed Dodds you see in edited clips here is the same as the Ed Dodds who interviews with teams?   I don’t know you or anyone would think that?      He’s very much respected around the NFL which is why multiple teams ask to interview with them most every year.
    • I was too hahaha  Why’s that
    • Round 1 - #15 A. Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas B. Brian Thomas, WR, LSU C. Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia   Round 2 - #46  A. Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M B. Marshall Kneeland, DE, Western Michigan C. Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State   Round 3 - #82 A. Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon B. Darius Robinson, DE/DT, Missouri C. Ben Sinnott, TE, Kansas State   Round 4 - #117 A. Jalyx Hunt, DE, Houston Christian B. Mason McCormick, OG, South Dakota State C. Malik Washington, WR, Virginia   Round 5 - #151 A. Beaux Limmer, OC, Arkansas B. Tanor Bortolini, OC, Wisconsin C. Isaac Guerendo, RB, Louisville   Round 6 - #191 A. Decamerion Richardson, CB, Mississippi State B. Qwan'tez Stiggers, CB, Toronto C. Nick Gargiulo, OC, South Carolina   Round 7 - #234 A. Millard Bradford, SS, TCU B. Mark Perry, FS, TCU C. Dalton Tucker, OG, Marshall   BONUS: Will the Colts trade the #15 pick this year?  A: Yes, they will trade back.
    • Yeah... Richardson needs players who can separate and who can get open deep. IMO "give the inaccurate QB a contested catch receiver with large catch radius" is one of the tropes that hasn't proven to work well. Contested catches have about 50-55% success rate even with the best of contested catch receivers and with relatively accurate QBs... now if you think AR's accuracy is not good, drop that rate even more. The best way to give a relatively inaccurate QB better chance to complete passes is to give him a WR who separates and and who is open so the QB would have more of a margin for error to throw the ball a little behind or ahead or a little higher or lower than ideal. (we are not talking about uncatchable balls here... those will be uncatchable for anyone really). In that regard, one thing I would agree about is - we need WRs who have good hands and have good ball skills.   And this is ignoring that AR has indeed been pretty good with his accuracy on passes at intermediate and long range. His biggest problem coming into the league was the short stuff and he was already showing improvements in that deparment before he got injured.    And Worthy is the WR who created the most separation from anybody in this draft :
    • Richardson  accuracy  on deep balls is his strength.  Hence why you pair an elite deep threat in worthy.
