Patty Mac

So, without being in the hype of this season. McAfee is in his prime right now. He's played in a Super Bowl, seen about everything there is to see and he's playing at a lights out level compared to other P/K in the league right now.

Could we perhaps see Patty Mac in the..... Hall of  Fame next to Ray Guy one day? If he keeps this up for four or five more years, I think we may have the second punter to ever go into the Hall of Fame, like I said- it's a bit early to start using #YellowJackforPattyMac, but I'm loving #1.

It is very hard for a special teamer to make the Hall of Fame.  There are only two of them currently in, Guy & Stenerud (There are also a few like Blanda who played special teams along with other positions).

Among current players Vinatieri and Hester have a much better case than McAfee so far and even they are long shots.

Vinatieri is not a long shot at all.

I think it's a guarantee that he will be in.

Best punter in the league.  Give that man his yellow jacket!

Absolutely right, 21st Pat's HOF speech would be legendary.

It definitely took some cojones. I loved the call.

Caught em sleeping....take advantage.

That's what I said outloud too when I watched the recorded game Friday night Lollygagger "Holy bleep man that took some serious cojones." Okay, I used a different word to convey the exact same idea.  haha

I like that this coaching staff is taking calculated risks. "No guts no glory baby" as my old man always says.

Patty Mac is amazing and extremely underrated he is undoubtedly one of the best special teams players / punter in the League gotta love him.

Yup, funny & smart as hades...A lethal combination. I'm glad he's on our side. I'd dread playing against him. Even as a holder on Adam V. FGs he's an asset. What can't he do man? Reporter, comedian, special teams wizard.

He even has thicker hair than I do, but I will take the high road & not slam him for that even though SW1 is a little jealous over so much hair on his head. LOL!

4 SB rings should guarantee Adam a yellow jacket pretty easy. I agree 100% Moopsiepuffs.

If Pat keeps pinning opposing teams deep,  he will be wearing 1 too, I'd start taking his measurements right now just to keep on file for the NFL immortality inevitable.

I don't know, there's no place kickers in there at the moment and there's a few who should be in before Vinatieri who haven't made it.

TBH with you SCC, I think that a special category for spectacular special teams players needs to be created in the NFL just like the Academy Of Motion Pictures needs to create a special oscar for the best romantic comedies, but I digress.

Oh yeah, sinister villains never get enough love for their diabolical tendencies on the silver screen either. Devious bad guys are fascinating to watch. I like bad boys in the movies & a few on my football team just for good measure. We can't all be choir boys. I sure am not that's for sure.  :P

If football revolves around crucial field position to win games, how come it is so seldom praised in the NFL in terms of a bronze bust? A pet peeve of mine. I'm not upset at you SCC my friend; just these league mo-rons who don't highlight field position greatness nearly enough. It ticks me off.

My mistake I was always under the impression Ray Guy was the only ST specialist in there, learn something new every day!

No worries SCC. You know more about soccer than most Americans probably do & besides just your willingness to learn the fundamentals of football & HOF players in this US game is pretty cool to me.

If I tried to carry on a comprehensive discussion about futbol in Europe, I'd be so out of my element it's not even funny. You're a okay to me man.  :hat:

That's why I go out of my way to be nice to foreign fans over here with a different homeland than mine. If I travel to their country, maybe they will take pity on me & give me the same benefit of the doubt because I know what it feels like to be a "stranger in a strange land." Although a great Iron Maiden song, feeling alone & adrift really sucks with no one to talk to & have a friendly beer with.

I just know the importance of making people feel welcome & their contributions valued I guess.

Ha thanks for the kind words Southwest but it was a silly mistake to make, it's a fact that could be Googled. Lazy on my part.

I think your your right that in the vast majority of sporting cultures as long as you're polite and are open about the things you don't know most are very accepting. I've never really had any issues with being from on the UK while posting on here.
