Andrew Luck And The Indianapolis Colts

Recommended Posts

Jim Irsay released another tweet today talking about picking up a successor in the draft this year. IMO I think he's slowly telling us he wants to draft Andrew Luck and keep Peyton Manning. He keeps slowly releasing tweets in favor of so idk...

The question is will Luck be patient enough to sit 3-4 years behind Peyton.

Nope, thats not the question or a concern.

The Question is what will the colts do to fix the rest of the team in the off-season with essentially the same picks were use to. We can have Manning and Luck but we need to address issues on this team to go anywhere next year.

Good, it's the best move they can make.

It's not even close to the best move we could make. We could definitely do worse, however. The problem then becomes the rest of the picks. To address our ACTUAL needs (of which, a QB is not among them), we will essentially be picking where we normally would with the remainder of the draft. That doesn't bode well, per the people who have hated recent drafts.

For those saying we would be picking where we normally would with the remainder of our draft picks, how do you figure? We will also be picking at the top of each subsequent round. In years past we were picking near the bottom of each round. We would have first dibs on selecting the best player available for each of the rounds in next year's draft. For instance the top pick in Round 2 is a borderline first round talent vs. picking #30 and selecting a borderline third round talent and so on. That seems to me to be much better than in recent years.

Because... We always pick at the bottom of every round. After the #1 overall pick is secured, we will get the 1st pick in the 2nd round which is essentially the last pick in the first round. Get it?
