I'm very happy with my Joe's League draft..

QB- Brees(K), Dalton

RB- Peterson(K), Morris, Bush, Tate, De'Anthony Thomas

WR-Patterson, E. Sanders, Mike Evans, Randle, Hopkins

TE- R. Rodgers (GB)

K- Feely (Ari)..am dropping for another kicker...accidentally hit him as my kicker was picked 2 picks earlier.

DEF- Chicago

Lucky for you. I got robbed by my own "smartphone" (use that word loosely) twice

Should've had Reggie Wayne smh

But still a solid draft for me. I just know next time stay off my WiFi when the draft comes

Not bad..reason my team wasn't picked as best draft was because of Rodgers and Thomas not having high projections...

Seems to be a snafu with Joe's draft. VU and I ended up with people we didn't draft. I drafted Indy's D late, and I don't have them in my roster. I have Graham Gano instead. Not sure if that's who VU drafted or not

I was sure I drafted Dan Carpenter K Buffalo, but it says I took Jay Feely, and that HFH drafted Carpenter 2 picks before...

I mailed Andy, so lets see if he can find out anything...

Gosh, I totally forgot about the elite league draft due to a neighbor's backyard cookout. For whatever reason, I did not put it on my calendar to remind me, silly me, I was just at my neighbor next door, could have easily made it. Surprisingly, when you go auto-draft, yahoo seems to give you a good draft grade. I'm not that stoked about my team. It is what it is. I will roll with it :).

Good luck to everyone.

Maybe that's what I shoulda done Chad....Yahoo's experts gave me a C- and projected me to finish 11th.

On the other hand....last Sunday Yahoo's draft generator behaved like it was engineered by Fisher-Price....so that renders their mockery null and void.

I hope. ;)

In my one league that I drafted Saturday they bashed me for picking C Parkey for my kicker, and he was projected to get 0 points across the season. lol

Subsequently that dropped my draft from "B" level to "D+"

I think I'm going to move to ESPN next year.

An overpopulation issue (hundreds of thousands of people on the server at one time) I can understand, now some draft issues? Good thing it's the last three rounds.

There doesn't seem to be any problems with the Elite League I don't think, but the Joe's league seems to be having some issues. I'm going to look into it, but I don't think there's much I can do.

Coincidentally, I missed the last 3 rounds so I cannot relate to any of your problems.

I totally get that your fed up with Yahoo, Andy.

The unfortunate thing is that I've used both....and when it works the way it's supposed to...I actually prefer Yahoo. But if their gonna keep fouling up and can't handle the traffic load then I'm cool with ESPN or whatever else you decide.

Yahoo operates on their rankings premise for their auto draft and if you get value in line with their rankings for your league, you get an appreciative nod from them. But there is always emotion in FF, and that emotion comes in the way of you getting reasonable trades down the road if you do decide to shake up your roster, or over drafting a position based on how the rounds are shaping. Besides, it is a best guess from all parties, right, which is essentially FF? That is overlooked too.

I posted this on the Joe's site....please read and respond asap...if this is going to work

It appears that yahoo auto drafted the last couple rounds for some picks. Since there is not much we can do to correct this through the site, here is what I would like to try.

We are all friends here and Forum members, so we can use the honor system. Drop the players that you did not draft yourself as soon as possible. Then put in a waiver claim for the players you know you drafted of those that got dropped./ Granted, its possible some won't drop in time, but at least this way, you can get some of the players back that you drafted. In my case, I only had one that was messed up, so I put in a waiver claim for Janikowski instead of Feeley, who isn't even on a roster.

You are allowed 4 waiver claims a week, up to 50 total...so its really not going to hurt you by doing this. I think this is the only fair way to try to at least partially resolve the situation.

We never had problems before with yahoo, so we apologize for the issues.

If everyone is ok with my suggestion, do it as soon as possible...and we can take it as it goes...\

Thanks..

Ray..(co-commish)

Andy I agree with the move to ESPN.  The Coltstrong PPR league had problems with it's draft and they moved the draft to 9:15 automatically but I cleared it and we are re-doing it at 6:30 tonight.

But between having the FF site crash when we where trying to do Avg. Joes first draft, then having it screw up the last 3 rounds, Yahoo is just not reliable.

That's the part I'm banking on in some of my "riskier" (yahoo's opinion) picks.

Andy's 0-1-2 "keeper" system was an interesting twist, and I may have been too clever by half in gambling on both Luck and Antonio Brown to outperform their rankings...especially with Forte and Lynch still on the board. But in the end, Forte getting dinged up scares me, Lynch's insane workload was a concern....and yes, a measure of good ole' homerism had me keep Luck and Brown (the wife is a Steelers fan ).

My sleeper pick this year was Green Bay WR Jarrett Boykin, who I think could outperform his ranking so overall....I'm pretty happy with my WRs/TEs where I drafted them, but my RB situation is pretty iffy. Alfred Morris should be okay but I Joique Bell holds the key....and I hope Pierre Thomas gets more action with Sproles gone from New Orleans.

No matter what....I'm looking forward to the fun. :)

Umm I am almost certain that I drafted Bradshaw and put in a waiver claim on him but Natural Bjorn Killer put in a competing claim and took him.

Also I can't remember if I took Gates or Walker but if no one is going to claim Gates I'll just pick him up.

Email Andy about the Bradshaw situation...he can either contact NBK (Justin), or remove him from his team...

Just seen Welker got a 4 game suspension.     And conveniently someone jumped right in and snagged Denver's next up?  While half of this * league is 3 players short of their roster ....  waiting for players they originally drafted to clear waivers???

C'mon people...

Who is the commissioner? They should have just suspended the waiver process making anyone dropped an immediate FA also I believe the commissioner can add and remove people from rosters

He has his own issues currently.    And things were supposed to be in order.       BUT if all in "our" league can read they would know the situation.    BUT ...

Okay,  so my team all seemed to me to be what I had picked.  But it seems everyone else is having issues and accusing everyone of taking players.   I went in and tried to drop all of my team except the two keepers which were obviously mine.   System would only let me drop half of the team as had to keep roster number.

Help yourself to any and all of them   .  If you see anyone left on my team that you think you should have let me know and will figure a way to drop them off.   Will go back in next week and see what players I can pick back up.

Thanks Ray,  sure didn't mean to make extra work for you.  You need to stop worrying about this place and Fantasy and take care of yourself good friend.  Will leave the players you readded on down on the bench till it looks like all is cleared up.  If someone wants anyone on my team they can speak up.   Would rather forfeit one game then have people coming back later yelling foul and unfair for any reason.

Take good care of yourself so you can return soon.

    • Rick Venturi today on the radio said he is more of a fan of speed with corners then what Ballard has done. He said young corners have to be able to recover from mistakes. I would almost like rodgers instead of Brent’s.
    • BBZ, what do you mean when you say Brents will be successfully targeted because of his size and speed? Aren't those his good traits?
    • Right. But we also are expected to draft a corner, So the fact that DeJean can play either position, makes me think Ballard could have his eye on him.
    • As a Ballard type player, he seems to fit the bill.  Big 10. Excels at zone coverage. Elite athlete. Special Teams standout, Good tackler. etc. Colts may be able to trade back, and still land DeJean   Considered one of the Safest picks. Seven 2024 NFL Draft Prospects Who Are Safest Bets to Succeed at Next Level https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10113875-7-2024-nfl-draft-prospects-who-are-safest-bets-to-succeed-at-next-level   DB Cooper DeJean, Iowa   A fractured fibula during a November practice tempered any excitement regarding Cooper DeJean's draft status. So he's not been in the same conversations as the class' top defensive backs, specifically Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell and Alabama's Terrion Arnold. DeJean's profile projects just as well or better than the aforementioned cornerbacks.   Three specific attributes set DeJean's floor higher than anyone else among the back end.   First, the reigning Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year presents the positional flexibility and traits to start at cornerback or safety at the professional level, with B/R's Cory Giddings highlighting his coverage skills:   "DeJean excels in zone coverage, but he's versatile enough to play man as well. He shows a smooth backpedal and the ability to keep his leverage and quick footwork with few wasted steps. Although he transitions well, there are times where DeJean hops into his breaks; allowing a step of separation.   "When in zone, DeJean does a great job of reading and reacting to the quarterback's eyes. Pairing that skill set with his route recognition, he often puts himself in good position with leverage and positioning.   "While working downfield, DeJean has the strength necessary to hand-fight with tight ends and bigger receivers, as well as the speed necessary to carry twitchier receivers downfield. He also does a very good job of locating the ball and playing through the catch point."   Second, the high school track standout is an elite athlete who captured Iowa state titles in the long jump and 100-meter dash. Many expected him to blow the doors off Lucas Oil Stadium. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to test in Indianapolis after being cleared a few weeks earlier.   "His acceleration is incredibly fluid and super powerful," NFL combine trainer Jordan Luallen told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman last summer. "He's the best athlete I've seen in person, pound for pound."   Finally, DeJean adds significant value as an elite collegiate returner. Big Ten coaches also awarded him Return Specialist of the Year this past season. DeJean averaged 13.1 yards per punt return over the last two seasons. A top-notch contributor anywhere along the defensive backfield and on special teams will provide excellent value in the NFL.   Potential Landing Spots: Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles
    • He could, but I think he's way more athletic than people give him credit for and projects way better as CB. Definitely could be a good safety, but I think if we drafted him, he fits well as a boundary corner for us.
