Why not take a chance on Charles Tillman to play free safety if we can't get Byrd or Ward?

It was mentioned as a possibility on NFL insiders, and has been done before very successfully by Rod Woodson in the past....He has the ballhawk skills and switching positions could significantly prolong his career ...He would be half the price and it could potentially payoff big ..

This would free up more money for another CB and offensive line..

I think we should get Byrd if possible, but if not this is a gamble that could pay big dividends.. Worst case we have a very good nickel corner backup safety..

I saw an article saying he wasn't open to playing safety. I had rather sign a proven FS like Clemons and know what we're getting too. I wouldn't mind signing Tillman to a one year deal to play corner next to Vontae though.

I didn't realize he wasn't open to , it that's too bad..I'd still like him as a cb too even though he's from a cover 2 and played a lot like a safety in Chicago ...
