I thought you were talking about Rex Ryan for a minute. ;)

Personally I think that about the cleverest thing Sandler ever did was The Chanukah Song. Hilarious.

There are very funny scenes in every movie of his I've seen, but too often the movies in total are sub-par. I actually read recently that Punch Drunk Love is a well regarded movie in a conventional sense, and I want to see it. Rotten Tomatoes also thinks highly of Funny People, Stupidity, and Reign Over Me which I've never seen either. Looking at his list on their site, it seems as if he has gotten more into producing and screenwriting as he has gotten older. It's possible that he just isn't very good at either. Give some comedians full control, and they overdo it. They are at their best when a skilled screenwriter and director are controlling them. Why they can't recognize the difference themselves, I don't quite understand.

According to Rottentomatoes.com, the highest rated movie Sandler's been in is Punch-Drunk Love (2002) (79%). His lowest is Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star (2011) (%0).

Scroll down to see his filmography:

An interesting tidbit is he wasn't an actor in the Bucky Larson movie. It was written, in part, by Adam Sandler, so I guess he fails at writing movies as well. It says it's directed by Tom Brady, but don't confuse that with the quarterback.

All of Sandler's movies, except Punch Drunk Love, have received under 70% scores. Only seven of his 48 movies have received 50% or higher. Basically, almost any movie Sandler is in will be doomed to under a 50% score, which pretty much constitutes a flop. Sandler has a special comedic style that people either hate or love... more often than not, it's hate.

I just remembered, there is so much stuff being released on 11/11/11 when this movie is released, including video games, like Skyrim, and other blockbuster movies, like the Immortals. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie falls flat at the box office.

    • You brought up the notion that proximity to UGA makes you more knowledgeable about UGA, and therefore, have greater insights into the dynamics of the team "than just about any body on this forum".  I've never ever brought it up because I know it doesn't matter.   But by your measure, my proximity, ( and the number of UGA fans I have to endure) gives me a freaking PHD about it and makes you just a freshman pledge.......Flounder.   Having said that, the useful information gleaned from the combine about Fromm, notably hand size, puts him into the higher risk bucket for me (like Kinlaw's knee), which strengthens my liking for Herbert as the college QB option, (as I've noted, not Fromm) which is only third best behind trading for Carr then Stafford, IMO.   Even TUA and Burrow have risks, both having season generated stats that benefited tremendously from a supporting cast.  Golly, Jefferson runs a 4.4, who knew? You know, just do the Mahomes thing, throw the football down field in the area of the fast guy and the fast guy will make you look like you know what you're doing.
    • Steve Smith brutal with John Ross lol On Ross watching Ruggs run the 40: "he might be watching him take his job if he keeps playing like this"
    • I'm watching a replay of some of what I missed last night. Peoples-Jones looks very good on the gauntlet.    Victor is not fast, but he catches the ball very well too...    Lamb looks awesome! Such a natural catcher of the ball.    Mooney ran fast 40, but bobbles a lot of passes on the gauntlet.    Reagor - real nice too...
    • Yeah, my opinion about this draft, and probably any future draft, is that I want  known high-floor player with upside potential, not a currently risky-floor player with all-pro upside.  We've had too many Hooker's, Wilson's, TJ Green's, even going back to Werner, TRich, and Dorsett that resulted in putting good money after bad.   This team has such an average-to-bad starting roster that getting an immediate upgrade to nearly ANY starting position also upgrades the team materially.  WR or OT could be that BPA high floor starter, and those positions are close to being a top need anyway, especially looking a year or two ahead.  Still, DT is the top need, but I wouldn't want to risk the capital on a potential lingering problem.
    • Here are my quick analysis of players to target at this point in time with the Combine just starting and our Colts immediate team needs:   R1P13 DT Justin Madubuike (Texas A&M) - Versatile can play either 3T or 5T.  Colts needed a 3T last year and failed to draft one capable of replacing Autry.    R2P34 TE Adam Trautman (Dayton) – No surprise the Colts will be looking to add a young top TE early in the draft after letting Ebron walk in FA.  TEs that can both block and catch are rare in the NFL.  Trautman should become the next Kittle in the NFL given the right offense.  If we do acquire Rivers in FA he will need a player like Gates he can connect with in Trautman for a few years.   R2P44 WR Chase Claypool (ND) – Colts add another red zone weapon in the mold of a Calvin “Megatron” Johnson.  May need to work on his hands but has major upside as a deep threat.   R3P75 SS Jeremy Chinn (S. Illinois) – Khari Willis stepped in and replaced Geathers last year, but Willis didn’t wow me.  Chinn is a jack of all trades DB and local Indy native.  Looked like a LB but played like a corner during Senior Bowl.  Great range and matched up well vs TEs and WRs.  Showcased his versatility during the Senior Bowl playing different DB positions with success.  Wouldn’t surprise me to see Chinn go in R2.    R4P112 R5P143 CB Amik Robertson (Louisiana Tech) - A Slot CB could become a starting Nickle.  WOW factor in college defending passes.  Great in run support should be great in both Zone and Man if he can shadow routes.  DB game day health was an issue last season and having a versatile DB like Chinn gives us added DB flexibility to go along with Robertson who can start in place of Moore.  Realize Moore was an UDFA that the Colts just paid handsomely for who has been one of the best Slot corners in the NFL.   R5P143 DL Larrell Murchison (NC State) - Thrives in smaller spaces and should become a good rotation 3T for 4-3 defense   R6P173 OT Alex Taylor (South Carolina St) – Developmental player with strong combine tangibles (Wingspan 88”, hand 11 2/8, arm 36 1/8).   R7P205 RDT Broderick Washington Jr (Texas Tech) – rotational value as a 3T   Realize too many variables and different directions we can go but tried to address some of our biggest issues in draft outside of a questionable draft QB that may or may not be any better than our current roster.  Everybody's got their 2 cents so would like to hear from yours...
