So glad to find this forum. I am a displaced Colt's Fan in KC,KS and need to find like minded folks! Unfortunately my cable co in odds with NFL, so can't view NFL network, which means I can't watch the Colts :( Anyone know where I can view games while in Kansas? Again, thanks for this forum!

I live up in Calgary. I got the NFL package from my cable provider and for the last 3 three years I've watched about 12 hours of football a week.

Hello everybody. It's good to be back on a Colts board. I don't know if anyone remembers but I used to be a regular poster operating under the user name ChristophColtsCanada on one of the old boards. I kind of got frustrated when that got shut down and just when I was about to switch over to it's replacement, that was shutdown as well. What was with that anyway? Oh well, here I am, and like I said it's good to be back.

I recognize a few names out there (PeytonGirl, Coffeedrinker, etc.) and I'm sure there are more who have new user names.

On behalf of all Colts fans up here in Canada, I'm just wondering one thing. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL... eh? ;)

Hey PG! Good to see you again too! Love your avatar! You gotta tell me how to get rid of mine!

Thanks! Even my dolliehs love the Colts and have their own Colts helmet. :)haha

So you don't wish to sport the Colts' logo all year, eh? Here is some info from the main post about avatars. Let me know if I can help further:

...there are two different photos to choose, a profile pic and an avatar. Some users have wondered why they uploaded a pic and it didn't show up as their avatar. You can set it to be the same pic, I think (we are still getting used to everything as well), but there are two separate photos. The avatar pic must be sized 90 x 90 or smaller in order to be uploaded. I think the profile pic will automatically resize.

Welcome everyone!

We may still have a few glitches and bugs to work out, but things are mostly working. Please let us know if you come across anything.

Hopefully this will be what everyone is looking for in a forum.

The old rules are pretty much the same and you can find those in the upper right hand corner of the forum under "forum rules".

Like I said, we are still working out a few details, but please enjoy the forum and getting your profiles set up. Let us know what you think!

And remember, as I mentioned below in a post - this is now simply the forum for the FAN COMMUNITY known as COLTS DIRECT. So be sure to check out what the entire fan site has to offer and join the social side if you have not done so already. :)

A couple of things to note, there are two different photos to choose, a profile pic and an avatar. If you have any trouble resizing a photo for your avatar, please contact one of the mods and we will be happy to help you. Hopefully in the next update (no panic :panic: just a software update, this will be addressed so we only have to upload one photo). :)

Also - a couple of small changes from the old forum rules and I think this is mentioned elsewhere, but I thought I would add it here. You can post images and videos anywhere on the forum (as long as they are of reasonable size - as in 800 x 600 max). You can also have an image in your signature (100 x 400 max), so banners are back if you like! But if you are a user who does not wish to see all of this in the forum, you can turn it all off in your board preferences inside your personal profile.

Rules will be updated soon to reflect this.

Additionally, we are working on the chat room functionality rules. The chat room will be open to the forum community only on game days so that everyone can enjoy a GAME DAY CHAT session. We will still have our usually Game Day thread for those who aren't big on chat rooms. All the same forum rules apply in the chat room as they do everywhere on the forum and site.

And please help out the mod squad by using the "report" button in the lower left corner of a post if you see anything out of line. Thanks so much.

You can find some helpful tips on "navigating the community, what is netiquette and playing well with others" here:

Helpful Tips For New Members Please post helpful suggestions about posting here

Helpful Tips For Irritated Posters What to do instead of taking personal shots at other members

A big issue we constantly run into despite warnings everywhere...don't request or post links to websites or online streams of NFL games. This is a legal issue and is cause for suspension of posting privileges. Just please don't do it - either in the forum or chat.

More updates, soon!

Oh - I am sure it is listed somewhere on the site (still finding my way around, too!), but just in case you need a quick list - below is a list of our current site moderation team. Community team members can assist you in both the forum and on Colts Direct Social. Forum mods will generally assist in the forum area only and Colts Direct mods will be available for help on the social site.

Your Team!

Maureen - Community Manager - Your "go to" person for all things Colts, she can help with anything on the entire site!

PeytonGirl - Community Moderator - Assisting on both sides of fan site, but will be mainly dealing with the forum.

Megan - Community Moderator - Also assisting the whole site, but specializes on Colts Direct issues.

ColtsSouth - Community Moderator

Shecolt - Community Moderator

Zebra3 - Community Moderator - Great "go to" person for any technical issues.

JJ - Forum moderator

TubaGuy - Forum moderator

21isSuperman - Forum moderator

Please feel free to contact any of us for help and if we don't have the answer, we will find it together. A new adventure for us all. :cheer:

Hi Colts Fans!

A football insider and the "Colts Closeup" host, Julie Buehler, will be joining us on Wired for Sports tonight at 7:30pm Eastern. We'll see if we can get clarification on the Peyton Manning injury, and get some locker room insight on how Collins is meshing with the team.

Hop on over to WiredforSports.com to check it out. Show starts at 6pm EST, and Julie will be joining us at 7:30pm.

It is a new platform, so we all had to start from the beginning. Some folks went with their old usernames and some chose new ones (and put their old names in their sigs so we knew who they were :)).

Welcome back!

I'm just finding out that all my posts were erased from all the previous years I have been a member on here! Trying to get used to this new forum. I read the forums a lot, but just haven't posted much and now it's a new forum, I have to make up for lost time!! Go Colts!

Actually Nancy, it is a completely new board in a way.

Early last season, our old fan forum was merged into the Colts social site (then called MyColts.net) and we worked hard all year to try and make that forum workable for the fans. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't like the original. However, some great things came out of it (like our mod team - :cheer:haha).

Then in the off-season, the whole social site (forum included) got moved to the ColtsDirect platform. ColtsDirect is an awesome social site for fans, but it was seriously lacking a proper forum and it came to light that one could not be arranged with that software.

So we are back to a fan forum platform again, though we are linked closely with ColtsDirect and the whole Colts.com site. However, in all of these moves, we were unable to keep any user info because they were all different types of platforms.

Anyway, after loads of pleading :beg:, we have a fan forum again but at the cost of beginning again...fresh start for everyone! Plus, this forum has some features that the old one did not - like a game day chat room and the ability to post pics and videos and have sigs. :)

So it is all good.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far!! I think this is more of what forum members will be looking for...

PeytonGirl, I do not know why the forum has me restricted as a new member.I did have some difficulty getting my I.D. and password working properly, but I am definitely not a new member.

Since I cannot start a new thread, I will ask you. Where do we send get well wishes to Peyton that he will actually see and be able to read them???? Please somebody post a real answer. Thanks.

Hi Peytongirl, just checking back in after a long post season, and the board doesn't recognize my signin. I've been or was a member for several years and had well over 500 posts to my credit, yet now I am back to being a newbie. These restrictions are rather ponderous, is there anyway to restore my account?

Thanks,

Scott

We are all newbies on this forum, so to speak, since we had to rebuild from the ground up.

As far as the "new member" restrictions, that is designed to help with actual new members so they can learn the forum rules and ways before posting a lot of threads.

If you are returning for the season from the old forum, just hit me up. ;)

I think it would be great to have a well-wishes thread. :) Maybe we should start one! Great idea

My friend Jackie is a colt's fan and I'm posting this for her. On Wednesday (Sept. 14, 2011) we drove by the Lucas Stadium and Jackie expressed her desire to attend a Colt's game there. "Maybe I can contact Make-A-Wish foundation", she said with a chuckle, but there was no real humor intended. You see, I was driving Jackie to the hospital so that she could consult with a heart specialist. At the hospital we received the news that there was nothing he could do, her heart would not survive any surgery. She was given a year to live. I love Jackie and her husband. They have been there for me and my family, visiting us in the hospital and bringing us food when we were going through hard times. Now I wish I could do something for her. Jackie got married at fifteen and is now approaching 70. Through it all she's cared for her husband and her five children, doing so selflessly. I don't know if this is the right place to post things like this, and if it's not I apologize. But, I was hoping that someone could help me find the RIGHT place to post this, or the right person to contact, to try and get Jackie tickets for a game, before it's too late. I appreciate any help.

Hey everyone!

My name is Amielio, I am from California! I am going to see my first Indianapolis Colts game next Sunday Colts (vs) Steelers and I am just wandering if there is any good fan clubs that tail-gate before the game? It would be cool just to know that I have some place to congregate before the game. If anyone knows of a good club let me know! Also I am more than willing to bring alcohol to the party!

I've been a fan forever, and while I've defended the Kerry Collins pickup to maybe still have a chance at salvaging the season, I think we need to let the other young QB's have a crack at doing something out on the field. Let's face it, this is a year we need to take some of the rookies and 2nd year guys and get them some work so that next year we have some depth. It hurts to say that but I remember pre Peyton days and was use to having seasons where it wasn't always bright and sunny. You never know, one of these young guys might spark a couple of games in and wallah! You could have the next star on your hands.

OH..and PS... please please get some help on Defense. I realize we are a heavy offensive spending team but if we tighten up the D we don't have to worry about trying to put up 35+ points every game. We have the Defensive Ends covered, Brackett is good but needs some supporting LB's too. Our Corners and Safety needs some mid-career veteran leadership out there.

Hi there and welcome,

Be sure to check out the links in the Off the Field section of the forum HERE for ideas about places to gather in Indy. :) Also, the social side of our site - Colts Direct - has lots of groups who plan get-togethers on game days.

As silly as it sounds, your best bet might be to follow and tweet Jim Irsay on Twitter. He does a ton of wild Colts things for fans - loads of giveaways. You never know!

Thanks Peytongirl, I must say that I like the new format, well done to all!

Scott

I like the new forum. It is a lot better than the other I visited a few years ago. It's more up to date and seems a little less formal too. :applause: Great job!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: GO COLTS! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Thanks IndyLady and Scott! I am so glad that you all are enjoying the forum. We are very pleased to have it back, too. :D

Yes, I understand I could do that, but we shouldnt have to set our time up "incorrectly" in order for the board to display properly....

I apologize for misunderstanding your previous comment.

I have relayed your question to those who have far more knowledge of this platform than I do.

Currently, there is no way the administrators can change the time settings; but the IP has been asked if there is a way this can be done.

This falls completely on the coaches, when peyton was playing he ran the offense (literally came to practice with his own clipboard) so now that the real O coordinator is gone they have the guy who coached the wide recievers and that is no working out. For the past three years they have had the same D coordinator and the defense has been horrible with the wide 9 and cover 2 schemes without big and smart linebackers (poor draft choices for the past few years) but the excuse is its okay peyton will put up enough points to make up for it well that is not okay you should strive to be the best so that is not working out for them. Is there any spark in the special teams I do not even think they practice because there is no blocking schemes for the return. the running game has been bad since a talented running back left (ederin james) and now we have subpar running backs with a bad O line but its okay becasue peyton will get the ball off when they pass (most of the time) in less than 3 seconds so you dont need a running game which has been a problem for a long time. Finally the head coach, what does he contribute he was just given the job off of peytons success now that he is gone the true colors show of the colts and as a fan I am so disapointed to see that a one man organization is a reality for the colts. Solution start over from scratch hire real talented coaches who seem to care. Its not an excuse for a team that will always make the playoffs go winless in one year NO EXCUSE think of what peyton could accomplish with a good team and coaches like New England
