DE from the Cincinnati Bengals. 6'7, 270, bengals not expected to resign him. This could be a great pick up for us. He doesn't fit our 3-4 scheme but he has the size to play DE. Specializes in pass rush, pretty good at run stopping.

I've did a thread about him before. His motor seems to lack through the duration of a game and it may be even worse as an OLB.

I was intrigued by him as a FA last year before the Bengals franchised him. He could project very easily to the Rush LB role. I am less interested now that Mathis has settled in there, and don't really want to flip him back to the SAM role.  If you could get him for Michael Bennett money like the Seahawks, then he could work perfectly as an inside/outside rush piece in a Nascar package, but I don't think we have an every down role for him as is, and at $10M/year, he'll need an every down role.  Maybe he doesn't command that much after a down year..... so still kind of interested.

Would be surprised if he got anything near 10m. Other than his 11 sack season last year, he has been nothing special.

The only reason Johnson succeeded in Cincy was because of Geno Atkins and Domata Peko taking on double teams. Once Atkins got hurt he was exposed because he was always singled on the outside and thats how he got the qb sacks. without someone taking on double teams he is just another lineman. Plus he is a pure 4-3 DE pass rusher.

Playing next to Geno Atkins made Johnson turn from a good player into great one. Without Atkins he struggled a lot this year. He's doesn't fit our scheme, he's a 4-3 DE not a OLB. He will probably end up on the Raiders or Jags.
