Interactions with Chief fans

The amount of Chief fans at the game yesterday was a bit surprising. We actually had 4 sitting right in front/beside us. The fans directly around us was very tolerable. But some started "rubbing it in" at half time. I was just wondering how everyone's else interaction with the Chiefs fans went.

It was really fun to watch the fans around us to be extremely excited when they were pulling away and then slowly see that excitement turn into silence and fear.

Where were you sitting?  My son and I were in section 338 and there were 4 KC fans sitting in the row in front of us and to the right.  They were loud when the Colts had the ball but that didn't bother me.  The noises they were making were the most annoying I've ever heard come from a human.  I think someone even reported them because a stadium worker came over a couple of times and said something to them.  There was a Colts fan in the section to the left of us and he was really annoyed with them and a little drunk too.  They were going back and forth with each other.  One of the female KC fans even got in the guy's face when she was going to concessions.  The Colts fan left for awhile and came back right before we took the lead.  He even tried to walk over and confront the KC fans after we won but I stopped him from going over to him.

Chiefs fans are acting like total babies on NFL.com. I caught one of them in a bad way, guy kept saying "just wait till next week, Pete Carrol and Sherman will teach Luck a thing or two." My reply, Colts wont play the Seahawks till the Superbowl... he hasnt responded.

I didn't see any getting crazy around us. We sat in section 249. After the game we went out to eat and decided we had better not stay overnight. We had a room booked at the Marriott though Priceline. If you don't know Priceline doesn't give refunds unless it's a huge emergency. Weather isn't considered one. We waited in line next to three Chiefs fans that were feeling down and out and I

over heard them discussing the incoming storm. So I

told my girlfriend that we should give them our room so they're not driving in it since we're losing our money anyway. They were very grateful and couldn't believe we'd offer that. I just told them if they ever get the chance to accommodate any Colts fans in Kansas City then that's enough repayment for us. Felt kinda awesome helping them out after such a heartbreaking loss that they just endured. We can all sympathize with them losing that first playoff game.

I sure didn't see anything dirty about the way the Colts were playing.  That "hit" on Charles that knocked him out of the game was barely a touch.  I think he got the concussion when his helmet hit the turf.

We were in 116. Hate to hear that there almost was an ugly scene. Like I said, the Chief fans around us were fine. Cheered for their team and was making noise when the Colts had the ball, but was not over the top by any means.

If you listened to Mayok saying over and over it was because of the hit..When an announcer goes over and over about it, some people might believe it, and not look closely enough. Then when they showed it i slow-mo, he never got hit by the Colts defender..His head slammed into the ground as he fell.

Had 2 in row sitting in front of me that were ok, but the 4 sitting behind us were completely obnoxious! They were not a good representation of their team. It was great to see them start to deflate as they watched The Colts mount a comeback and go on to win, the looks on their faces was priceless!

I saw one completely drunk KC fan escorted out, then another one kept running up to the front and being a jerk and refused to go back to his seat, even after the ushers told him to. After being asked about 5 times to return to his seat the usher gently grabbed his elbow and tried to guide him back, the fan jerked his arm away and got confrontational!!!! Let's just say, BIG MISTAKE!!!!! The ushers took care of business rather swiftly!

The ones I saw were really nice.  I saw a handful of Colts fans being jerks to KC fans after the game.  Saying things like "Hey KC when's your next playoff game?"  "Hey we have a game next week but you don't"  "Not only did your team choke but you guys are going to be stuck in our city for a few days ha ha"  I saw some Colts fans going as far as to get in some KC fans face and rub it in that they lost.

Now I want to stress this was a handful of Colts fans who did this not like it was a majority of them or anything like that.  I mostly point it out to say every fan base has jerks in it.

KC fans are nowhere near as bad as Steelers fans.  I remember a couple of years ago when the Steelers came to town and I didn't like being heckled in my own stadium.  I brought my dad up here to that game because he is a Steelers fan and he even had to tell those fans to settle down.

Had zero interactions with the ones in our section until after the game was over. A really drunk chiefs fan threatened to punch my face. I said ok and his friends said sorry and took him off is another direction.

I dont think they were any worse then others fans at any other game. Add alcohol and makes almost anyone an *.

While most weren't too bad, we had some real jerks around us....

Of course, we didn't hear from them after the third quarter.

But I think our jerk percentage is lower than most teams

Most of them appeared to be on the visitors sideline - elsewhere they were pretty dispersed ....  they had all gathered pre-game in the north endzone watching warmups and had their tomahawk chant going actually got pretty loud with an empty stadium but once the place filled up could barely hear it even when they were up 28 and flying high.   The few that were in our general area were very well behaved.

Honestly I seen more drunk Colts fans giving them a hard time due to the Colts getting spanked the first half - felt pretty bad for those in red that had to deal with that!

After the game I seen numerous colts fans shaking hands with chiefs fans who had set close together - THAT was very classy!  As for the drunks - well they were simply drunks should have been cut off in the first quarter not in the third!    Last call theyd come up with two beers in each hand and run back for more - pathetic!

I saw a younger Chiefs fan (~10-12) with his dad walking out who was on the verge of tears.  I patted him on the back and gave him some words of encouragement about his team.

These were probably the people sitting next to me, although they left right before the chiefs final drive, I really felt bad for the kid, he was looking really sad. There were some inappropriate things that went on too, like when Charles went down some fans were cheering and ranting like we just won the game, then when we started to mount a comeback, the same people that cheered the Charles injury were heckling this little boy as they chiefs players dropped like flies, the kid was wearing a Berry jersey (Probably his favorite player) and the guys behind us said Berry was hurt on the play even though it wasn't him, then promptly told the kid they were "just messin with him". I mean really? I told him to ignore them, and everyone within ear shot gave the guy a lot of dirty looks.

As far as the thread goes, there were a LOT of chiefs fans there. probably 20% of the audience. My hotel was FULL of them, there was literally 1 colts fan to 4 chiefs fans in our hotel. They were talking smack before the game, and saying our house was their house, and all this garbage, a good majority of them were in tears after the game, and they stopped with that stupid chiefs chop chant too.

Trash talking or not, my takeaway from going to that game is that the Chiefs have some excellent fans. Really it was terrible seeing how loud they were when we were on offense, and they got away with a few stadium wide chants, but it was just about all silence in the second half! haha. I've made it to several games, and we can get loud when it counts, but it was deafening in the 4th quarter. My throat is still sore...
