with every win we get this season will Cleveland pick lower with the pick they got for trent? I dont like draft picks anyway, trade them for proven players. after today the trade looks better

I think Trent looked good today.  He seems to be slowly getting more confident.  I think he will be much better next year, even though the kid has whiffed a few blocks, he's still overall a good blocker and can catch really well. He just needs to progress with regards to the rushing aspect of his game.

Willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this year.  It always help to see improvement.

Basically wasn't most of his yardage running not passing in junk time??? I think he stinks as a runner.. As big as this dude is and all the muscles he has, you would think he could carry a few people a few extra yards?? He gets hit and drops like a ton of bricks....

Hope I'm reading this correct but yes for every game we win Cleveland will be picking later in the draft! They will get the pick that we would have had in the 1st round! So if we win the Super Bowl they would get the last pick. So I personally think the Trent trade is working out for both sides well.. To early to tell

In what world is 100 all purpose yards and a TD not playing well?

68 rushing yards, 34 receiving..... meh that's really nothing to get excited about playing the worst team in football.

I cannot even imagine what people would do if he had a real, big game. But lord knows he's not going over 100 yards rushing

Man, I sometimes wonder if you guys just root for Trent to fail, just so you can say "Told ya sooo!", he played well today, and if you can't see that, well then your football knowledge is lacking

No I could care less. I would love to see him go off the fact is he hasn't done it yet.

Oh okay. So we're just going to qualify everything to try and diminish his performance. Gotcha.

I thought you were actually logically critiquing his play.

My mistake. Carry on.

To answer your question, no. The draft order for playoff teams is determined by how far they advance in the playoffs. So our win today -- and any additional wins during the regular season -- have no effect on that draft pick. The highest it can be at this point is #21, and that was locked in last week when we clinched. If we win the Super Bowl, it could be #32. Won't know until the playoffs.

When was the Colts offense playing in junk time? Last I checked they were leading the whole game and the Texans weren't playing prevent.

This was a serious comment?  Seriously...you're trying too hard.  Trent had a decent game.  But your trying to minimize it is about as stupid as the people saying a 10 rush attempt 24 yard performance is something to be happy about.  Criticize the guy within reason, but don't sacrifice all intelligence to make your point like how you are doing right now.

I don't think it's a big surprise.  Everyone knew we were very likely going to make playoffs, so the pick would be in the 20s or higher.  I wonder who the Browns will draft with the 32nd overall pick

I see what you did there. Heck yeah, we can WIN IT ALL THIS YEAR! Both the broncos/patriots are beatable and i think the hawks stumble.

You don't like draft picks?     Really?

You realize most every player in the NFL these days is the result of a draft pick.....

They're the Life Blood for every team.....     Every team.....

I don't mind trading....   but one has to be careful....

2005 29 Marlin Jackson CB Michigan   2006 30 Joseph Addai RB Louisiana State   2007 32 Anthony Gonzalez WR Ohio State   2008 No Pick — — [18]2009 27 Donald Brown RB Connecticut   2010 31 Jerry Hughes DE Texas Christian   2011 22 Anthony Castonzo OT Boston College   2012 1 * Andrew Luck QB Stanford   2013 24 Björn Werner OLB Florida State

Draft picks are available in rounds 2-7 also, one first round pick wont kill us IMHO. Maybe TRich can be like reggie bush on an accelerated scale, with added durability.

most of them take too much time to develop,if they ever do, a big if, proven players can do it now not in a year or two.there are exceptions if a team has proven players, they can wait  for a draft pick to develop.but if they need to fill a spot now, imo proven players can play today
