Done defending Peyton

I know Peyton wants to win it all by himself and throws at every opportunity but there are times he needs to throw away or take a sack.

I know there were no receivers open and the O line collapsed but i put the INT on him. I mean he has played the game long enough to do something like that. He got to win these ball games to real win many people's confidence.

Ok, i am not rambling with emotions. I am making this statement with utmost calmness.

Shane...... 27 of 41, 289.. 2TDs..one interception..after they were down

....and he was on the sidelines most of the game...as SD ran the ball

The loss goes on his record but he doesn't play defense

But he is Peyton Manning. He is supposed to put these games on his shoulders.

If you want to be GOAT, it comes with a price.

The greats don't play great every game. That includes guys like AP, Brady, Montana, Rice, some of the best of the best. In Rice's case the GOAT.

Manning played his position average tonight. He put up better numbers than most QB's do on a weekly basis.

The Denver Broncos outside the offense absolutely sucked like they usually (not always) do. The only difference is the O didn't drag their sorry hides to a win as usual.

The offense is the least of this team's problems, and that includes the QB. The line had a few gaffes, the receivers a few drops, and the qb some bad throws. Overall pretty average.

well it just one game, we'll see how the next two brings . . . and he did get two TDs closer to the record . . .  . . .

everyone has a one game or two or even three in a season that are off . . . let see how the next two/three months go with the Broncos . . .

I just cant stand that INT. He had time to decide to throw away or take a sack.

Those shoulders don't play defense.....

Or commit boneheaded penalties. (Plentiful, and could have had one more for unsportsmanlike conduct but the zebra gave them a pass)

Or coach the players not to do the above.

Or catch. (Average tonight)

Or run. (Poor tonight)

Or block. (Average tonight)

Or return punts. (Terrible tonight)

He does, however, pass and he looked average doing so.

Bonus: Worst onside kick attempt I've ever seen. Though that was far from a major reason they lost, just icing on the cake.

i don't recall, he did make a key 4th down catch, i think it was him . . . i know he had one drop late in the game but it was low and he had his hands going the wrong way . . . tough catch tho . . .

Oh ok.Someone in  this thread said its coz Caldwell they lost

i am not so sure he would of had time to throw it away as his arm was hit in the passing motion so it could of been hit in the throwaway motion pass . . . a sack was an option but the DL was coming in fast tho . . .

Shane...he was trying to throw it Away and he got hit...

....   They weren't even in SD territory...

SD deserved to win..and Peyton didn't play badly at all..he just spend most of the night on the sidelines

How come he most of the time gets hit or fumbles when we need a TD?. Why was he holding the ball so long?.

It was lame....and when you lose..everyone's to blame...

I cant get over 2 12-men-on-the field penalties..and fair catching a punt at your own 5......those are high school mistakes

.....Last year....some said Denver coasted through the second half of the schedule..and it softened them

Wont be like that now...

I still think the road to the super bowl in the AFC goes through Denver.  Patriots schedule is tougher than Denver's.  Pats have the Dolphins, Ravens and Bills next.  All teams play the Pats well and those are close games.  It wouldn't surprise me if the Pats lost the next 3 straight.  KC can still finish ahead of the Pats in the AFC.

Pats wont make the mistakes Denver does. Belichick is a GOAT for a reason.

Dont be surprised if Pats win all 3.

I'd be shocked..to be honest....

But we haven't seen NE since they lost Gronkowski...

Could be like the Colts losing Reggie Wayne

I have a lot of faith in NE than Denver at this point.

NE team reminds me of 2009 Colts.

I know people think time of possession was a big factor. But the offense going three and out on three straight drives inside their own 20 isn't good either. Denver's defense has berm suspect all year and will be the biggest factor in deciding if they win it all.

do they really...NE has been far behind in each of the last 2 games before rallying to win

..and they're short Gronk, Vince W....and they need those rookie WRs to play well the last 3 weeks.

Lets wait until the NE-Miami game ends

Best coach in the game.

Mediocre D

Good special teams.

They'll win some games. If nothing else let's be serious here - BUFFALO closes out their season. In Foxboro, no less.

Even if the Pats play mediocre on offense, they're still a better team and better coached than nearly the entire league.

Well 2009 Colts lost Dallas Clark i think and Peyton was playing with Collie, Garcon etc. Their D was injured as well with Bob Sanders always on the sideline. Freeney not fully fit.

No Belichick. His coaching wont let the penalties which Denver D did today.

Patriots players start jawwing/begging for personal fouls - BENCHED

Broncos players do stupid crap begging for personal fouls - Ignored by staff entirely.

Unquestionably the best coach in the NFL today, and one can make a case for GOAT. Fox and Del Rio are right down there with Caldwell as an absolute joke.

But will they win their last 3? What do you think?

Because I'd bet Denver wins their last 2.

    • Not really.   There's a theory that Ballard wants to draft an OL high because he said it's important to protect the QB, and Richardson was hurt last year. And the counter was that Richardson's injury/s probably aren't about the level of OL protection, and drafting an OL high wouldn't address that concern.
    • I'm thinking if we can trade to 8 or 9 and draft Odunze , we should do it if the price is reasonable. The value chart shows giving up P 15 and P 46 is the perfect number. Probably won't do it and I would think 2025 2nd for a 2024 4th added to the deal would make it work . That of coarse would depend on Atlanta or Chicago wanting to move to 15 . Obviously , as we all know , it takes 2 to make a trade.
    • I can too. And that will tell us everything we need to know about how the view him. It will tell us their feelings on the tight end room, and what direction they pick from there will tell us even more.    but if they take him at 15, we won’t know much about what might have happened, as they will be landing someone they had rated highly and fell to them.
    • Glad that’s over…    if I wanted to argue about it, I would have responded far more in depth than pointing out how you were attempting to gaslight me. I did not. Meaning I was ending my part of whatever the argument was. You “putting a finality to it” and then listing bullet points tells me it was the argument you wanted all along, which makes sense why you brought Grigson up in the first place. Bait, hook, gaslight. Almost got me buddy. You are a funny guy, Doug
    • Putting a finality on an argument you want to have.   There is a theory that Ballard won't draft a OL high because ARs injuries were not caused by a poor oline.  I felt it important to note that since Luck's major injuries were also not caused by his oline, Ballard could still want to improve it like he did in 2018 simply because AR is The Franchise. And its important to point that out because there has been a running (false) narrative for about 9 years that Luck's oline was the (main) reason for his injuries that kept him out of games.  The (false) narrative is based upon, IMO, a detest of Grigson, and not reality about the facts (or strong rumors) behind the kidney laceration and snowboarding shoulder. Therefore, mentioning Grigson and the (false) narrative was germain to the point about Ballard possibly drafting Oline high this draft to protect AR. Mentioning Grigson shouldn't trigger a CB vs RG discussion, unless people reading it are gaslighted by their own reading lens.
