In an ideal world I'd be ecstatic with getting Mack, Decker and Byrd. I'd be fine going all in with those 3 players. Each are long term solutions at their respective positions.

The offense at least would be very solid and we can build the defense through the draft. Think about this offense..

QB: Luck

RB1: Ballard

RB2: T-Rich

RB3: if we keep him as a possible change of pace back, Donald Brown

WR1: Wayne

WR2: Rogers

WR3:Decker

WR4: Hilton

TE1/2: Allen and Fleener

LT: Costanzo

LG: Thornton

C: Mack

RG: Thomas

RT: Cherilus

Holmes, Reitz, Link, and others as O-line depth.

Just think about that receiving core for a second though. HILTON AS THE 4TH RECEIVER! wow. I'm thinking Rogers and Decker mostly on the outside with Wayne playing slot since he's the best route runner of the bunch. Hilton can switch between slot and the outside. Add that with Fleener and Allen's receiving abilities and we have one of the best offenses in the league. A lot of weapons.

I'd like that offensive line as well with Thomas back and Mack. Costanzo and Cherilus seem to hold their own on the outside but its been the weak interior line thats hurt us. Thomas' return and Mack completely change that imo, barring injury. Plus, Thornton should get better by next year as well.

It can't be refuted that with those weapons, a decent O-line and a great up and coming QB that that would be one of the best offenses in the league. I'd be happy with Sanders too as a slot WR or even Nicks, but Decker would be my main target at WR if he leaves Denver.

As for the defense, Byrd fills Bethea's spot. Bethea, while a fan favorite, is a below average safety right now. Byrd would immediately make the secondary better. I'd be happy with a secondary of Vontae, Toler, Butler, Byrd and Landry, and possibly some depth via the draft.

Now of course my FA choices don't solve the pass rush problems, so I think we should build on pass rush via the draft. I actually don't know who are the FA pass rushers this season so can anyone help me out with that? thanks.

As good as Decker is, I'd rather keep Hilton on the outside and not sign a starting WR now. We should sign one when a Reggie retires. I know it looks weak right now but Rogers and Brazill are developing. With all 4 of them I don't really see the need to sign a free agent. Plus we have two great TEs that can catch and run.

Why Rogers above Hilton ? I'll take the proven WR over the one who has had 1 good game .

Not consistent enough.....Has not had 50 yards receiving in 4 weeks and 0 TD's in 5 weeks. Can be shutdown by Corners that can get physical with him at this point....Plus there is the issue of Lucks inconsistent ball placement.....Rogers can go up and get a ball Hilton just cant consistently, I'd personally not worry about who is my official #2 or 1 but move these guys around to create miss matches......Pep showed some of that in pre season play and once in a while throughout the season but that's largely disappeared.

Ohhhhh forgot about Brazill. Even better WR core lol.

It's just a formality. They'd both get equal targets. I just like Rogers on the outside more because he's bigger and physical. AND a possession receiver. Hilton would also have some reps outside of the slot too and go for the deep route.

If we can get an Offensive coordinator who knows how to capatilize the speed and physciality of our receivers, that would be ideal. Pep could be that guy but he hasn't shown it yet.

Colts can't afford all those FA's and also resign their own.

True. I'm thinking get Mack, Nicks for cheap because he hasn't produced the past couple of years, sign Vontae and maybe go all in with Byrd.

But the offensive line you suggested would be great. Thornton will be better next year and Thomas is a decent G. Just need that C Mack.

Yep.

Switch the guards around...Thomas on left and Thornton on the right....I am still not opposed to drafting a guard and a tackle...or FA....

Yes we need an upgrade at center.  What will Grigs do???

Yeah true my bad... I'm fine either way. I hope we can get back that 2012 draft magic.

Need to swap sides with Thomas and Thornton. Thornton is a RG and is struggling on the left side. Don't know if  it is injury, rookie or a strength problem, but that is not his original position. He was drafted to be a RG.

The dude has not been able to pick up a Stunt to save his life this season, He needs a good veteran O Lineman to teach him how to watch film the right way I think...He don't have that right now pretty clearly

I dont think Decker will leave Denver for any amount of money as long as Peyton stays there.

Yeah me either. Decker is going to want to stay in Denver as long as Peyton still there. Lately he has been the main target for Peyton. I just don't see the Broncos letting go one of their offensive weapon.

Nah, he'll go where the money is unless Denver makes it close. These guys have limited careers, their second contracts are usually their last.

I'm not saying I want him, I'd rather put money into the O line.

Or a center that blocks nobody, and Thornton has to try and block 2 people?  How's that working for us Gav....enter Dr. Phil....UH  UH....

I read an article somewhere a few days ago that the Colts should consider trading T-Rich with the Patriots for their halfbacks. It was an interesting read and would make a lot of sense  Here is another article that talks about it but it wasn't the one I read. I'm sure it was on bleacher report or something. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/england-patriots-could-trading-stevan-ridley-trent-richardson-222300903--nfl.html

I agree with trying to get a Center, especially Mack.  After that, I'm all about beefing up the defense.  Byrd would be great, but we need lineman/linebackers that can stop the run and rush the passer!  I think Mathis, Freeman, Redding, Francois, and Chapman are adequate to good, but we need better.

Not sure who will be available but we need an impact rusher not named Mathis. I would be on board with Byrd to replace Bethea too. I do not believe we need a high priced WR next season. With Wayne back next season, he will be our chain mover and reliable route runner. You have TY running deep routes and having another year under his belt in the big show. You are going to have probably 4-6 games to see if Rogers can be the hoss we are all hoping he can be and then wildcard with Brazil as we really haven't been able to figure out just what this kid is.

On offense, we really need to know (coaches that is) if Thorton will be that guy by seeing his learning curve this year. Holmes, are they really just holding him back to make sure he has 100% of the offense and bulit up more strength in order to give him the best chance at succeeding? If he has just had pure struggles in the game, I would be all for paying the large price tag of getting a high profile center but I just cant see cleveland letting Mack walk without a tag, just can't see it at all so who is the next best option in FA centers?

Since this just the starting lineup who do you think would be some good pickups for depth on the o-line as that is something we better have next year so that we don't have the same struggles we had this year.

i'll be honest i would consider myself well informed enough to come up with a realistic list with relation to cap space or even FA ability either looking at the free agent list for 2014 maybe Greco at guard position we could maybe aim for Oher and put him at LG having thomas as a back up or thornton with link and reitz could provide solid back ups and continuity 2 things needed for Oline to improve but as i said i wouldn't be too well informed on a lot of FA's abilities and aint going to pretend to know either

WR: Two underrated guys that we can get relatively cheap - Julian Edelman and Emmanuel Sanders, watch those 2 guys come in and our offense take off. Because one Jeremy Maclin might cost us as much as both Edelman and Sanders, IMO. Plus, I think we have the young guns to run routes on the outside, just not enough guys that can get chains moving on the inside, IMO. Of course, if we can get both Edelman and Maclin, that would be great.

FS: Jairus Byrd if we let Bethea go

CB: Re-sign Vontae Davis, and draft a CB and develop

OL: Re-sign Joe Reitz, sign OG Chad Rinehart of Chargers, sign C Alex Mack of Browns (this center will be a quality signing)

DL: Pagano knows him, sign Arthur Jones, DT/DE, from Baltimore Ravens

ILB: Akeem Jordan, ILB, Kansas City Chiefs or Jo-Lonn Dunbar, ILB, Rams

I don't see Decker coming here to be a WR3.  And I don't think Denver will let him go.  He's playing well and Manning is gonna want to stick with the same group who understands his offense.

Anyone who thinks Denver doesn't have the cap space to re-sign Decker clearly doesn't understand Denver's cap situation.

Denver has very few needs that they can't fill in the draft and they have 9 million in free cap space next year without doing anything.

Champ Bailey retires or they cut him then that's another 10 million in cap space.  He's got nothing left in the tank and no guaranteed money on his contract, so they should part ways with him.

They will have plenty of money to re-sign Eric Decker and Manning is gonna tell Elway to get the deal done so he has his weapons back next year.  Elway will get the deal done.

Decker is staying in Denver.

Those two guys might be more of Grigson type of guys to grab.  Especially if Grigson has confidence that we can rely on Rodgers going forward, he's not going to spend a bunch of money on a WR, but he might get an insurance policy in case Reggie Wayne isn't the same player.

The Browns have the most Cap room of any team in the NFL. I have a hard time believing Mack goes anywhere.

Depends... Does he want to get paid, or does he want to win AND get paid, albeit a little less than what the Browns offer. Cleveland is still a few important positions away from even being good, namely the QB position. They will probably crap the bed again and draft Bridgewater who, if you thought Geno was struggling, would make Geno look like he could actually be good someday.

Sometimes its not just about the money. New England proved that a couple years ago with the plethora of veterans going there looking for a ring and taking less money. Granted it didn't work, but the point remains they wanted to win and didn't care about the money. Did Lebron not teach you Clevelander's anythng?

WR, OLB and OL are places we need to look.

Outside of Mathis we have no pass rush at all.  That was evident against the Bengals when Mathis got shut down nobody could step up and make a play out there.  I do not care if you have Revis and Sherman out there if a QB has all day to pass he will find a open receiver.

OL does not elaborated on.  Our interior offensive line is awful.

Hilton has shown he cannot be a number one right now and we have no clue what we will get from Rogers.  Relying on Rogers his a huge gamble and not one I am willing to take.  Would love to find a vet who can come in and make those third down catches that we were so use to with Wayne.  Speaking of Wayne, coming off his injury we have no clue what he will be like so that makes bringing in someone else a top priority as well.

Cleveland has more roster talent than the Colts. If they can get a QB this upcoming draft, granted that's a big if, the Browns could contend for the division crown next year imo.

Center: Evan Dietrich Smith or Brian De La Puente

Guard: Joe Asamoah

OLB: Brian Orakpo

D Line: Randy Starks or Arthur Jones

I could definitely get down with this.  I'd like to see a starting caliber C and OG brought in even if it means that Thornton and Holmes are relegated to being quality depth.  I'm not giving up on them by any means but I'd also personally prefer not to put all our eggs in those 2 baskets.  I'd like to see another DL brought in to make Matthews expendable.  And Orakpo would just be fantastic.  A proven replacement for Mathis and if Werner continues to develop and improve at both Sam and Rush LB positions then we could have a lot more versatility.  It's more difficult now trying to get Mathis opportunities because he's the primary and obviously most proven Rusher we have so that makes it easier for opposing teams to dictate to us.  With 2 versatile OLB's we would not longer be in that position. :)

I like Mack but he'll probably be franchise tagged. Decker isn't leaving the Broncos and we won't sign Byrd after signing Landry for so much. The two positions on defense that will be free agents is ILB and FS. I think will go after Donald Butler and draft Bethea's replacement. We won't sign any big name d-linemen because RJF is getting paid starters money and Redding still has one year left, Hughes will also be getting more playing time.

Offensively i don't think will sign a big name wr, Rogers, T.Y, and Brazil will be a good trio with a full training camp. Fleener will be better and will also be getting Allen back and Wayne for a year. Brian De la Puente will be a good signing at C but i doubt we sign a guard.

Keep holding onto that hope. We can always Franchise tag him.
