Of course its never a good thing when your HOF receiver goes down, but say Rogers performs and reaches his potential, I doubt that would have happened had Reggie played this whole season. I don't think Rogers would have ever got a shot here had Reggie not gone down, but its only been one game, so lets see how Rogers finishes the year

Well, to be honest, the one thing makes me most excited is looking forward to next season when Reggie is hopefully back in full force.

Think about how productive Rogers and T.Y could be, if the defence has to spend a double team on Reggie. Release the power!

And then add Allen and Fleneer. And maybe, just maybe, a half-decent set of RBs.

Grigson should go all-in on patching that O-Line, the rest be damned, I say!

Agreed, our receiving game could be deadly if Rogers pans out. Da'Rick, T.Y., Reggie, Allen, and Fleener.... so many targets

I am hoping Rogers can turn into an Alshon Jeffery like player, they basically have the same exact body type

Ik some agree with me and others don't but if he keeps his head on he can be as good as players like Dez Bryant and Josh Gordon his hands are good he's got good speed he's tall and can make ppl miss tackles not to mention he's a good blocker

I think after one or two years, Rogers will have bulked up his body to be more Josh Gordon size.  He's basically identical to Alshon right now in size, but I think Rogers will gain some bulk.  He style of play is closer to Gordon and Bryant than Jeffery, but Jeffery is turning into a superstar too, so there's no wrong answer here.

Geez, he has only played ONE game.

What do you think if he puts up 40 yards on 5 catches and no TDs vs Houston?

We need a larger sample of games to make a determination.

And what is he going to do in the off season? behave like a choir boy?

We won't know the real(new) Rogers until TC next year.

He can be top 3 in the NFL (CJ, JG, DR). He can take over games by himself and you could see that in the bengal game. The main reason that brazill got so wide open and had his "coming out party" is because of DR drawing double and triple teams (i saw at least one time he was tripled teamed).

i highly doubt that.

Brazill got his 2nd td because the safety blew coverage. Nothing to do with Rogers

Da'rick is actually similar to Josh Gordon

Yes he is. But I don't believe Da'Rick could do the things Gordon is doing this season under the circumstances he's under. On pace for 1800 yards in 14 games and you play for the Cleveland Browns who haven't had a franchise QB in what 25 years? The dude is a great ball player.

Once we give Rogers more targets he will blow everyone's mind

Gordon is Cleveland's clear cut #1 Rogers isn't ours yet

    • Steichen said he(Steichen)was a defensive assistant early in his career and it gave him more insight as an offensive coach.   Something to that affect.
    • What an amazing trade that would be for Indy!
    • The closer we are getting to the draft the more I see Turner being projected outside the top 10. Still, Latu is a gamble - he was medically retired after his sophomore season and told he would never play football again due to a neck injury, Transferred to UCLA and was eventually cleared. He just seems like the type of player who has the goods, but will fall in the draft due to health concerns.
    • There's a lot of analysis to be done here, IMO. I don't know all the answers, but some questions that should be addressed are what's the difference between the success rate of a first round pick and that of a second/third round pick, historically? How do you value that difference? I think I've seen stats that say first rounders are starters at a higher rate than other rounds, but is that influenced by the bias of the team that drafted the player in the first round? (Probably.) It's probably fair to say that the players taken in the first round are more likely to be difference makers than the players taken later, but I think there are position groups where the difference is negligible, and I think WR is one of them.   And then, if you get into a climate where everyone is selling in the first round, then the value probably flips at some point.    Also, I don't necessarily think of the draft as a crap shoot. Yes, it's arbitrary, but I think some front offices are good at drafting, and some are bad at drafting; but the difference isn't as wide as general perception would indicate. And there are lots of dependent variables -- coaching, health, etc. -- that influence the outcome of each pick.    I do think more picks is the way to go to maximize value. But to build the best roster? That's a different arm of the discussion. Like you said later on, we've been trading down, and we don't have a great roster.    You also make a good point about the rookie contract vs trading for an established player, and that's not to be ignored. But my point is that if you're going to base your appetite for risk on your level of conviction in the player, I'd rather take the big swing on the established player than on a draft prospect, despite the difference in contract status. The ideal mix is to target a second or third year WR so you can at least get some of the rookie contract. Ballard reportedly asked for Jaylen Waddle and Christian Watson last year.
