Running QB, no. Ability to extend a play when the pocket breaks down, and run a boot leg for a 1st down or TD, yes. Sounds a lot like a guy we had a few years ago.

Seriously? Where I agree we should have beaten Buffalo last week, the Ravens are a one trick pony tied to a QB who is not very good. Yes I said it, Jackson is terrible. He is a superior athlete making him highly efficient from a running standpoint sprinkled with very little passing efficiency. Once you consistently stop the Ravens running game which involves containing Jackson, the Ravens are not hard to beat. They might have given and/or give Lamar MVP awards but MVP he is not. He falls into same category with those who keep trying to convince all who will listen that Cam Newton was/is great QB... Ha!! What a joke. Either way, the Rivers not mobile vs. Jackson mobile argument is fine as your opinion but in reality is moot here.

Sounds like you just described a young QB already on the team roster... :^) -
I’m with you for the most part. Steve Young would go in the super mobile category and so would Kapernick. I think mobility is a luxury item. Guys like Rodgers, young, Wilson, Mahomes enhance their games with it, but it’s not necessary as the popular narrative goes IMO. moblie QB is a political buzzword IMO. The key for great QBing, assuming there is adequate NFL arm strength, is reading and reacting from the pocket. These attributes are hard to quantify and that is why QB drafting is such a crapshoot. Mobility=luxury item. Not necessary but can enhance.

I don’t pretend to be a college scout. I don’t watch much CFB and I have thought guys are going to be good that sucked and guys I thought would suck were good. but. I saw 4 games by fields this year. He sucked v, IU. NW, and Bama. He was great v. Clemson. I have serious doubts. But I have seen a couple of rare throws., and he’s pretty sporty with the feet. I would hate to be ina position to have to draft him, I lean bust on him.
