there is no one person on this site who is more critical on jim caldwell than me, also i was'nt a huge fan of tony dungy, but when it comes to people coming on here and always

finding a reason to come after peyton manning, it is completely ridiculous.you can say what you want about peyton, there have been many people say he has under achieved at times , me included. but

after watching this team and staff looking like fish out of water without him, i think it shows how much he has completely carried this team on his back. so before you sit behind your keyboard and make a negative keystroke about manning, go for a walk around your block first. so wobble ball or not the guy is indy colts football, and if he never plays another down or not he deserves all of our respect. get well peyton, and we definently hit the lotto with you. now hurry back MANNING!LUV THE SHOE. now give me a TIMEOUT.

atta boy, gotta love it when guys speak their mind. Hope PM gets back soon, but I don't want him to paly this year. Don't want to risk him for nothing.

If his doctors clear him and say he is good to go why is it a risk?

I am hearing he could play in Dec. A lot of posters say he should sit out the year.

Do you really think if he is cleared to play he won't?

I don't

Enough is enough

As a child of the eighties, I know that eight is enough.

I haven't seen much of anyone "coming after Peyton"? There have been very minor criticisms, but nothing requiring such a fiery response. Considering that you have admittedly criticized him, why are you launching such vitriol at others for doing the same?

after watching this team and staff looking like fish out of water without him, i think it shows how much he has completely carried this team on his back.

Again, who isn't saying this?

so wobble ball or not the guy is indy colts football, and if he never plays another down or not he deserves all of our respect.

So because he's been the face of this franchise for over a decade, one isn't allowed to discuss what few inadequacies he has displayed without somehow being overtly disrespectful?

There is a chair in the corner with your name on it.

Look, your post, this thread, is aimless as a blind man with an itchy trigger finger. I don't get to what you're referring to as you didn't cite any particular comment, thread, member of the media, you didn't seem to have a point to this rant other than to chime in with a "LEAVE PEYTON ALOOONE" thread. Frankly, I'm not sure to what you're referring? What, Dungy's silly idea about trading Manning? This is what happens when there's nothing to talk about but failure.

It will be interesting to hear what Dungy is asked about, and how he responds this Sunday night, as I am sure his comments will be highlighted on the Sunday Night Football broadcast. Keep in mind that Dungy has never made waves as a member of the media, and this is a sad technique utilized by the media to draw attention to themselves. Whats more is much of what Dungy said was taken out of context.

Now, who are you referring to as far as members of this board tearing into Peyton?

Hey, I'm all for a passionate rant, but the one to lead this thread was aimless and had no direction. I get it, LUVTHESHOE is a big Manning fan. Probably has a Manning Fathead overlooking him while he sleeps at night, thats great. I do remember when LUVTHESHOE first joined this board, I thought his username was ironic because he made NOTHING but negative posts about this team. Investigate for yourselves, he has often torn into this team unfairly which makes his thread here seem quite odd.

clearing him doesn't mean he's completely healed... it just means he's good enough to play. PM said it this year in an interview in the Rams game "I have too much respect for this game to go out there and hot-dog it" He wants to come back when he's fully ready to go, and that probably won't be in December... so that means that he should be ready after the season. This season is over, and our O-line is horrible, why risk our franchise when you can just save him for next year?

You're probably right. It would be odd for someone to rip on the team and then start a topic about PM. Sadly I havent been here that long and the only person i remember consistently ripping on the team and annoying everyone was natelombardi lol

All I have to say is WOW!

Have you seen some of this guys other posts?

He has alot of nerve telling others to relax.

Time to look in the mirror if you ask me. (Like the comments about resting players)

Its absolutely crazy what this season is doing to people. Heck, Irsay is taking it better.

Its ONLY a game guys. There are men and women dying over seas and people all over this country are losing their homes and jobs!

Put things in perspective. peyton will be fine no matter what happens. He has two beautiful kids and a lovely wife along with a great family.

IMO, he's proved enough. relax already.

It can't be said enough about what Peyton means to our team. However, I read this site about every day and I don't see those types of anti-Peyton comments. Perhaps a very foolish minority is posting these comments, but I am not seeing it.

Meh...I watch football, talk football and participate in Colts threads to get away from the ugliness. It's a misnomer that when people show passion for football that they are somehow disconnected from reality.

If I get a thorn in my toe, it's not going to make me feel better when grandpa gives me some perspective by telling me the war story about his buddy that had to carry his arm in a sack, hoping to have it reattached when they got back to base.

Most of us do have a passion for Colts football... and that's okay.

But I also have two sons serving in the military.... so in my universe my passion for the Colts takes a back seat.

It's just a matter of one's own priorities and we're all different.

Woolmagnet DOES raise an often overlooked aspect of Peyton's situation though.... his wife and kids.

We assume that since he's been an eat/drink/think football guy all these years, that there is little or no chance he'd hang it up. Odds are he won't if his medical outcome is favorable...but it's not like no NFL player ever has.

Tarik Glenn for example, had probably 2-3 good years left when he retired... but for what he considered bigger life reasons, he retired. We've pretty much stunk at the run game ever since and didn't like the decision he made..... but sometimes that's what these guys do. And they've earned the right.

What does irk me is when posters comment on Peyton's family life as if it's a regrettable distraction. Especially when we hear stories about NFL players driving around with cocaine in their cars, killing people while driving drunk and beating their wives.

Good point.... I remember one poster stating that Ashley Manning will have little, if any, say in Peyton's decision as this medical stuff sorts itself out.

When Peyton discusses the remainder of his career amidst this injury situation....it's crazy to think his family won't or shouldn't be squarely in the middle of that discussion.
