Trades and signings

I think the NFL should make this a recurring event. So far this week is crazy with all the signings and trades. Its not drawn out over months and hard to keep track of. Maybe give the teams one week before mini camp to compete for players. Makes it more interesting that's for sure!!!

No that wouldn't make it fair to the free agents. Usually they are able to meet with multiple representatives from the teams that are interested in them and weigh their options. With this method it's pretty much a first come first serve basis and doesn't give the free agents any room for a decision imo. I also don't know how this is easier to keep track of than a full summer of off-season moves. Usually the biggest names are taken in the first few days, and then there are random signings throughout the summer. That makes it a heck of a lot easier for me to digest as a football fan. I was at a sports bar earlier and I have friends that affiliate with so many different teams that I was struggling to remember what moves their teams had made to make small talk. Usually by this time I have been able to study up and know where all of the big names are going to go. Please keep the off-season a literal off-season and not an off-week or 2. That's all I'm asking.

The only reason it's like this is because of the shortened offseason due to the lockout. Personally, I like it the way it is. I like it as a longer FA period so we can slowly absorb and analyze the moves instead of getting a ton of moves at once. As a fan, I want to understand how the moves will affect the teams and I think that can happen better with more time between major signings.
