The second the Bengals scored that TD - I said Painter will throw an interception the next series forcing it somewhere..... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Now all the haters can claim Painter cost us the game when thats no where near what happened!

Yes. Possession is much more important than a couple extra yards....unless it's fourth down and you absolutely need the extra yards for the 1st.

If he just goes down there I truly believe we would have went down and scored a TD and won this game!

I think he was actually down before the ball came out, but no camera angle to show it ... I also think the challenge we lost was wrong as well - just no angles to show it .... no excuses though. :P

Nah, I'm a bit of a Painter hater, but I don't hold it against a QB when they throw a pick in a situation like that. At that point, just managing the game and not turning the ball over is still going to lose the game. To have any chance at all, you have to get more aggressive and start forcing it some. If you throw a pick....well, you were going to lose anyway. Forcing it some is the only way you even have a chance in that situation.

Sulk about it if you want but he's been great outside of one play this year.

Hes not that good, way better guys out there than him. Not consistant and you never know what you will get. Im not sulking but I am ticked because everything about this team I have been saying is coming out. This team probably cant win a game with the personel or the coaching that we have.

This team has so many problems that it will be years before its turned around. It may be another 30 years in between sb the way this organization is run. You people and your bandwagon bull is over the top. Just because there are some realists out here and tell it like it is we get called names because thats all you have. Just as pathetic as this team.

So that would explain why he's played phenomenal this season? Never said he's the best, just said he's made one (albeit huge) mistake and people are going to crucify him.

He's been playing better than Wayne and has been our bright spot on offense.

People make mistakes. I'm sure he's going to be beating himself up over it.

get off the wagon crap buddy, been a fan longer than youve been alive. get over yourself.

Just means you're older than me. Has nothing to do with how committed you are as a fan.

If you stop watching a game because we're playing poorly (and that's your choice) be prepared to take a few on the chin from those who will watch through thick and thin.

If you've been such a huge committed fan for so long, you would have seen some real bad Colts teams.

You're clearly upset, perhaps you need to take a break.

Sucks becoming used to losing, but without high expectations the losing is a bit easier as a fan....

This.

I think a lot of fans are still in the mind set that despite the one key this team is built around, we can still perform at a high level. And we have played decently well. Its just the mistakes we make end up costing us more than they would if we were closer to full strength.

Yes, very easily could be 5-1 if it werent for a few key plays in each game ... oh well, we will see what happens next game. ;)

Whole heartedly agree.

The entire makeup of this team has changed. This is a team built to get a lead and hold it. When the offense goes down in production, defense isn't equipped to be a lights out type.

I love this team more than others from years past. We have a team that is putting every single thing they have every week and are coming incredibly close to winning a lot of these games. They got heart.

I'm sure the team doesn't feel to happy with this decent play, ;)

    • It's not even about his production. After he got back from his injury his production has actually been fine. I'm not one of those who wants ungodly numbers from him to think he's showing promise. But I do want to see him beat his man off the release on he outside. I do want him to win some contested balls and show body control and good hands. My problem with him right now is that ... he just... doesn't win his reps really. He needs his man to get stuck in traffic or for a defensive breakdown to happen in order to make stuff happen. Just an example - look at what Claypool is doing. Look at what Ceedee Lamb is doing...   I couldn't care less if he ends the year with 400 yards and 2TDs... It's not what this is about... it's about me wanting to see some flashes of what he could become with development. So yeah, sure... I absolutely agree with you that it's still early in his career and there is time for him to get better and develop, but we still can watch what he's doing now and where he's struggling and evaluate that. IMO he's struggling with pretty much every single aspect of playing X-receiver. Which is why Reich started using him a ton in the slot after his injury.      This is not a coincidence. The jump in production coicides perfectly with Reich moving him inside to the slot and scheming things for him.
    • Rattle on about your interpretation about what's going on, rather than your knowledge of it.     Why are babbling about something irrelevant, like hindsight?   There was no looking back. There is no hindsight. The trade up for Lewis was criticized immediately when it happened.  My thought yesterday merely triggered a 2.5 year old memory.  It wasn't a new thought based on hindsight.   If you don't know that, you're not qualified to comment about the situation or about me.   Let it go, because you've revealed you ignorance on the matter.   And it was a one sentence comment at the end of a five sentence paragraph.  It was a side comment.  It wasn't a deal until you made it one.   Do us a favor.  Smarten up, or get out.
    • I think strong side DE plays more snaps for us than weak side DE with more run stopping responsibilities like Sheard and Houston. I am not sure if that is a systematic conscious approach or something that happened by chance. In other words, they want a few jacks who do only 1 trade on a rotational basis instead of 1 jack that does several trades for the weak side DE position. However the hit percentage seems to be low so far with several dart opportunities at the draft board.   That approach only works if those jacks do jack but if they don't do jack, who the jack is won't matter.
    • The plant-toe should primarily affect his ability to throw deep.  I don't see how it changes anything about the offensive game plan.
    • First, I should say you're seeing dramatically more than I am.    I've only seen a few games, and then hi-lites from most of the others.   Second, I should say what I often say with you.   That I admire your view and your judgement highly.   Always have.    All that said...    I think you're making far too much out of far too little.    I think expectations for all our rookies are outsized based on who they were....   but without the benefit of a normal off-season,  and without 4 pre-season games,  and then all the games Pittman lost due to injury,  I think expectations remain unrealistically too high.   Same with Taylor and others.   I'd cut Pittman lots of slack and not worry too much about what we're seeing until roughly a year from now.   Seriously.   I still think of Pittman's future as incredibly bright.    But maybe that's just me?
