Pat's can have luck.

give me a player that can help manning win superbowls between 2012-2015

there is no way to amass that much talent in those 3 years, especially as your "key" player ages and skills detoriate to the point of probably embarrassment.

11) We were begging Caldwell to put in PAINTER a few weeks ago when Collins was playing

12) Mcafee led the team in STs tackles for a while

13) Lacey is making hand gestures after his 1 good play and forgets about his dozen bad plays.

14) People want to see more of Donald Brown after one run

15) I'm worried we might lose during our bye week...

just talked to someone who had the same surgery as manning.... he cant even play golf... can't turn his head, ended up having another fusion just below the current one due to trying to be too active ----

so, my response is

"when you get side-tracked and can't remember what you were doing before getting side-tracked, "Oh yea, I was watching the Colts game, hmmm, can't remember what channel that was on"

there is no guarantee that Manning will be back next year. If he does come back will he play anywhere close to the level he did in previous years?

No one knows. the Organization would be terribly wrong not to get a QB for the future.

How does this not apply to a rookie QB? how do you know how he will play? I'll take an old manning over some potiental luck

No, Drafting Luck and pushing out manning early and then Luck becoming Alex Smith would be dooming this team to a bottom feeder for the next decade plus...

Wow, way to rip off another poster's words.

I posted this in another thread but I think it also applies here.

I just don't think people are taking into account that it is very possible that Manning will never finish out his contract. He will be 37 next season and coming off a serious injury to the NECK and that can not be stressed enough. This is not a knee or a shoulder, but his NECK with the hope of nerve regeneration. If this had just been another yr. that Manning was healthy and we were still sucking enough to get the 1st pick, then I would probably agree that we could wait another yr. or even 2 before we gave serious consideration to getting whatever QB we could, but with this injury and his age it just does not make any sense to pass on what could be the best QB to come out in the last 14 yrs.. People can not (or should not) just automatically assume Manning will play another 4 yrs. and finish his contract. History tells us differently, Marino, Montana, Elway all retired at 38 yrs. old. Very few QB's ever make it till age 40 and even when they do, they have usally lost much of their ability.

uh, that was the point....I thought that was kinda obvious????

Not cool.......

maybe, but im tired of people justifying not taking luck just so peyton can have a couple more good years and not wanting the colts to succeed past peyton

Well, there's a way to debate this without stooping to childish insults. Both sides have a point, and this is not the thread to debate Andrew Luck. There are numerous other threads to discuss this issue. If I started a thread to discuss the weather, I bet someone would suggest that Luck would bring sunny skies and someone else would counter that Luck would cause precipitation.

Take it somewhere else.

You should apologize for calling the other poster a "fool".

19) When Andrew Luck debates pop up IN EVERY FRICKIN THREAD!

I agree, but it is mostly the people who don't want Luck that always interject him into the conversation. I just wish we win some freaking games and make this whole thing not even worth talking about anymore.

    • Any chance we take a OT with the 1st pick?
    • FWIW:   Today I listened to a guy from The Athletic interviewed on ESPN.   (Darren Lee). He said interviewing GMs at the combine, almost all view DeJean as a safety except two teams.  He thinks the Colts and Jags view DeJean as a corner.     I don’t know this reporter, never seen him before, so I can’t speak to his credibility.  But it sounds like he did a lot of homework.     And I appreciate your view on pro day times being reliable or not.   I’m always skeptical on pro days.  But I thought DeJean helped himself on his testing.
    • I could care less what he does. Been too long ago.
    • I’m with ya..     I'm not sure we’re going WR at 15 either.  I think we could go DE, and it’s possible we could go CB as well.   Gosh,  I love Mitchell and really like Arnold as well.  And if we trade back I would be fine with McKinstry or a DE on defense or one of the 2nd tier of WRs that could be there in the 20’s.  So many options.   I keep reminding myself, every pick could produce a surprise, because I think Ballard will have so many options to choose from.      Im also not sure Ballard will use all 7 rounds.   He finished in 5 rounds in his first draft 2017,  and he finished in 6 rounds in 2019.   Maybe he uses all 7 rounds, but I’m not confident we will.     One week from tonight.
    • My Final Mock Draft   15. Brock Bowers, TE,  6’4 245 Lbs, Georgia - Blue Chip Prospect.  Rare combination of acceleration, speed and body control. Hands-catcher operating with good coordination and technique. With Pittman on the outside Bowers will control the middle of the field and seams. AR Will develop much quicker into a top 10 QB with Bowers as his TE.  46. TJ Tampa, CB, 6’1, 190 Lbs, Iowa State - Elite physical traits. Plays with good positioning throughout routes. Very good in press Coverage and Zone. Expect him to compete in training camp and be named a starter.      82. Calen Bullock, S, 6’2 190 lbs, USC - Elite physical traits. He has the range to play single-high safety, the athleticism to line up over the slot and the ball skills to chalk up impressive on-ball production. Expect him to compete in training camp for the starting S position.    117. Tez Walker,  WR,  6’2 195 Lbs, UNC - Elite speed with very good body control. Career average of 30.7 yards on touchdown receptions. Gives us very good depth and competition with Pierce.    151. Grayson Murphy, DE, 6’3 260 Lbs, UCLA - Shows impressive quickness and change of direction to help turn speed to power as a rusher. Good depth.    191.  Keaton Bills, G, 6’5 320 Lbs, Utah - Cerebral player, quick to react to twists and stunts up front. Very good depth.
