I am sorry I don't find humor even in the thought of mistreating a child. It is not lighthearted humor in my opinion. I do not know ruksak at all. When I bring it to his attention all he can do is throw toilet humor back. Thats real classy. His post did not give any clue it was a joke or was a sarcastic comment.

Beyond common sense, no I suppose he didn't clue you in.

Holy moley this thread took a turn for the real.

I ruined yet another thread with my inappropriate jokes.

Remember the time we were trying to discuss the Colts resting our starters in 2009 and I got the thread derailed and subsequently locked because I was joking about eating a whole bag full of cats?

Good times.......

It's a new age of not saying anything or risk offending a single person Ruk.

I am posting in an effort to bring some peace  :hippies:  to this thread and to hopefully get it back on track.

Many of us who know ruksak know that he loves his daughter and was just being sarcastic.

But, we all have our buttons and joking about the mistreatment of children is one for crazycolt especially since he is not familiar with ruksak's brand of humor.  And, given all that he has done to help abused children; I think that is understandable.

For me, it's no different than a recent prank video that was posted.  Some found it hilarious.  But, the video pushed the "buttons" of some who found it offensive that others would laugh at those being pranked.

While I didn't find the video hilarious, I also didn't see why others were offended because the video was obviously a promo and those being pranked were more than likely acting.  However, I can respect both views.

So, can't we respect the feelings of crazycolt while also respecting ruksak for having a crazy, sometimes off-beat sense of humor?

Now, how about that little Seahawk's fan?  Wasn't that girl amazing???  :applause:

This.  You just don't know everyone's history.  Child abuse could be something that hits close to home.  Not saying he was abused as a child, but maybe someone close to him (or as you say, he helped  abused kids, which I don't know to be fact, but I believe you when you say it).  Yeah most people knew it was a joke, but if someone gets that offended, the response shouldn't be to criticize his sense of humor.  Now kiss and make up everyone.  To CrazyColt - apologies that I may have just obligated you to kiss a bunch of guys, but there are some female Colts fans on this forum, and Colts have the best looking female fans in the NFL!

I was actually a little jealous. My ex-wife has a 6 year old son (from another man) and his father is a deadbeat, in and out of prison, that sort of lot. The little man comes over from time to time when my daughter spends the night and I get a 'lil football buddy. So, I do get a taste of sharing football with a kid. Just never had a son of my own.

I've been having a ball teaching him the game. He has no passing talent. No receiving talent. Not a nimble runner. The kid is all aggression. Just wants to hit and tackle. I got me a little defensive monster over here.

I have yet to understand responsible interneting. I swear if the government knocks on my door at 5am one more time......

I make one off-hand comment about weapons grade plutonium and they come all up in my business, talkin' all 'bout "terroristic threats". Like....what does that even mean? Is that even a word?

Dangum NSA always snooping on my private posts I make on public forums.

They're all furloughed....see Ruk, that's the big tip-off that you're just joking about all this.

Well, you can't in good conscience boo the Jaguars.  That would be like booing Eric Moussambani, or the San Marino national soccer team.

I'm glad you get to have a football buddy once in awhile! Also, I'm sorry you never got to have a son of your own. I can't even describe how awesome it is, as a father, to have a son. :D

"I hope the Colts lose", she says with an evil twinkle in her eye. To which I respond, "I hope Justin Bieber marries Miley Cyrus."

Hah that wood be the ultimate fail relationship in the history of celebrities. We have no idea if JB even prefers the opposite sex, but if they did end up getting married ever they would both be on the fast track to a life of.......hmmm, better just keep it @ that.

You need thicker skin. And it's not an insult I was pointing out that common sense is what tips the sarcasm.

Common sense would tell you not to make a post like that without being clear it was a joke or made as sarcasm. Not everyone knows everyone in these threads. Thick shin has zero to do with child abuse. Besides I didn't make a comment to you but you felt obligated to stick your nose in it.

It's an open forum. If nobody ever replied to someone who didn't reply to them we'd never have conversations. I don't recall Ruksak addressing you.

And saying Ruk has no common sense (or it wasn't clear haha ) isn't going to make you look any better.

Me looking any better? To who? My comment explained itself. I am not here to argue or debate this matter. If you are done being cute with your common sense comment we are done.

Her first move is to draft that little girl on YouTube who is so fast

Well she's still better than Gabbert...

When you can honestly argue that Curtis Painter might be better than you that's not a good sign for your NFL career at least Painter can say he wasn't a first round pick and was never supposed to be a franchise QB...  I guess Gabbert can say he's not Jarmarcus Russell but that's about it...

Your post moved me. I am now questioning the choices I make much more introspectively than before, and I thank you for that.

I feel something large and powerful rising from within my very core. Something about your post has moved me.

No, I wasn't joking. I threw my child out of the house just minutes ago, flailing my leather belt strap like a lunatic as a means of channeling my ill-begotten rage over my daughters inability to correctly name the Colts starting roster. My hands hurt from the force of my strikes. My voice, strained near loss from the ear drum piercing screams of horrific disappointment I feel toward my child's lack of NFL knowledge.

I locked her in the basement once for 2 weeks because she said Andrew Luck's eyes were too far apart .

I got the sarcasm the first time. And it was pretty funny both times. People are just a little too tightly wound up these days.

....you getting the sarcasm yet or ?

No you didn't ruin it

It was just a misunderstanding..........which happens sometimes

I went to a Renaissance fair yesterday and was watching a Jousting match.

The announcer said that sometimes, the lances break and send pieces into the crowd and should this occur you should take cover and use your children as a shield

There must have been 500 people there that laughed because of course nobody would use a child as a shield.  They knew it was a joke

Unless your child has superpowers, obviously.

Gee, I'm glad my child has super-strength and x-ray vision.  I think I'd be disappointed if he had, like, Aquaman's powers or something.  Wouldn't you?

BLASPHEMY!!!

I will make you laugh before the day is through.

OK OK........

Richard Sherman and Andrew Luck go camping. After a long day of fishing and hiking in the great outdoors, they pitch a tent and turn in for the night.

Hours later, Andrew wakes up and is restless. He nudges Richard until Sherman is awakened. "Why did you wake me up, bro" asks Sherman.

"Look at all these stars in the night sky. What do you think they mean?" asks Luck.

"Well, I see millions and millions of stars. I deduce from that, most likely, there are many of them that have planets orbiting them. If there are millions of stars and some have planets, that tells me that it's very likely that at least a few of them may be like Earth. If any of these planets are like Earth, than there may be life on these planets. Somewhere out there, millions of light years away, perhaps there are Alien lifeforms looking up at the night sky at our Sun and wondering the same thing we are. How wondrous are the mysteries of life, Andrew."  Sherman lays back with his arms folded behind his head, smiling at the wonder of it all.

To which Andrew replies "No, you dummy. It means someone stole our tent."

    • Greetings y'all.   Titans vs. Colts 2: Electric Boogaloo. One thing that everyone can agree on is that both teams are better than Week 3 when Wentz was basically a scarecrow back in the pocket waiting for someone to hit him. But as a visitor to these pages, I can fill in some details from the Nashville sports market on what people are saying down here and some of the mentioned issues of our previous games.   First, the Buffalo game. The final drive which ended up in the failed sneak was discussed ad infinitum in these parts. The most interesting comments came from Jeffrey Simmons who on the Titans D-line made the play against Allen. If you don't know about Simmons yet, you should. He's very good and at three years into the league is getting better every game. He sniffed out that the play was going to be a sneak based on the formation and at that point, he knew he just had to beat his man to the gap and meet Allen head on. And despite Allen's size, I'm giving that one on one matchup to Simmons. Allen slipped because it became obvious in that split second that going low to get the extra foot wasn't going to work, changed his mind and ended up falling to the ground where Simmons wrapped him up. Game over.   As for the Chiefs game, we all knew that they had flaws, but as long as they had Mahomes they could blow you out in any game. So we as fans were just as surprised as anyone to see an honest-to-goodness beat down. But I do not think we did anything different than other teams in approaching KC in recent games. Rush 4, blitz rarely and keep everything in front of you and wait for Mahomes or the team to make mistakes. Score when you get the ball since the defense is suspect. And that's it.    Now for this game. Indy is a much better team than week 3 and Wentz has been efficient and takes care of the football. Jonathan Taylor is well on his way to a 1000+ yard season. And Indy has the usual suspects in the offense who always seem to play the Titans extremely well. After a wretched 0-3 start, the Colts have rebounded winning the last 3 out of 4 games.   The problem is that the only win of those 3 that could be considered "quality" is the 49'ers game on Sunday that was a sloppy slip'n'slide fest. This game is a must win for the Colts for many reasons.  First, it's a measurement of how far the Colts have come from the first three games. But most importantly, a loss would put the Colts 3 games back in the division and even though JAX and the Texans aren't competition this year, a loss would have the Titans win any tie breaker for the title. So it's really a playoff game.   Normally I hate games like this since it's against Indy and on the road with something important on the line, recipes for poor play from our side. But we have the bitter reminder of the Jets loss to remind everyone that we can't just walk in and expect Indy to lie down. It's going to be a physical fight since both teams are built around the running game.   As for the Titans, we now have both A.J. Brown and Julio Jones as targets on the field at the same time. We didn't have that in the Jets loss and while Henry got his yards, we had very little from the passing game. And then there is Henry who is on pace for a consecutive 2000 yard season. If he gets to the second level, anything is possible. the Chiefs sold out to stop the run, often putting 9 in the box AND having everyone within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. The result was A.J. Brown running all over the field 27 points by the half. Lastly, Tannehill is getting better protection from the O-line surrendering only 1 sack in 2 games, versus 20 sacks in the first 5. This is important considering the O-line is always banged up and has rarely played our starters together this year. Last week we played a left tackle 4 days off the street since Lewan was still in concussion protocol.   And our defense has begun to come to life, with the front getting healthy for the first time all year. Harold Landry has 7.5 sacks out of 17 total for the team. Last year the entire team had only 19 for the season. The combination is Landry, Simmons, Bud Dupree and Denico Autry are getting the job done now. The safeties are quality with Hooker back from injury and Byard playing back to his pro-bowl self. The soft underbelly is the corners, but their play has been better in the last couple of weeks, helped out by pressure from the front 4.   The Titans mission is to get a stranglehold on the AFC South in the middle of the most competitive games of the season (Bills, then Chiefs, then Colts and finally the Rams). I think Titans fans would have been happy with 2-2 in this stretch as long as one of them was Indy. We now have the possibility to really take control, but this team still has weaknesses to exploit and the Colts are built to exploit them.
    • If you would even make it out of the stadium with the ball
    • Well, see, here’s the thing:   No.
    • Yeah I don't want to jinx it but I feel the same way.  They're playing well and hope that continues.  Titans have a good front though so we'll see.
    • True.  But even with the mobile ones getting them to move that first time due to a rusher's influence tilts the play in the defense's favor.  From there your chances of either an incompletion or maybe even a mistake leading to a turnover is higher.
