Mikel Leshoure to Colts?

Recommended Posts

no because then we would only have one QB on the roster and we would just be making a hole to fill another. On top for the value of a good back up QB see 2011 I think that would make us appreciate the one we have.

So you're telling me that if we had the chance to trade our backup qb for AD you wouldn't take it? I'm all for a good backup qb but come on IT's Adrien frickin Peterson!

yes I would but that's hardly being offered I am sorry I thought we were talking realistic trades.

Yup I was obviously being serious about Ad for Hasslebeck. Is there a sarcasm button for future reference?

that was my point you used an extreme unrealistic trade to try to prove your point. I would also trade Link for Joe Thomas too but it's also never going to be offered.

If it brings in a quality player then what could possibly be the harm?

It's not necessarily needed. Bradshaw and Brown ran fine yesterday. The coaches just need to know who to use and when. I'm not for mortgaging our future for players of marginal talent. He won't improve the running game anymore than it already is. If anything, a move needs to be made on the o-line. Whether it be shuffling positions/depth chart a little or bringing in a free agent. This current mix, we've seen enough of. They aren't gonna get it done

I didn't say we should trade for a RB.  I was simply responding to CanuckColt who said not to trade any draft picks at all.  If it is along the same lines as the Vontae Davis trade, bringing in a talented younger player who can be a part of the building process then I have absolutely no problem trading a draft pick.

Oh ok. I agree, as long as it's not for a RB, and actually addresses an area of need

On that last play, where Brown whiffed, we should have had Bradshaw, or at least Havili in...Brown ran the ball decently in the game, but in an obvious passing situation, he's not the back I would want in there protecting Luck...This just shows how bad Ballard is going to be missed..

We should have signed Vontae Leach when he was available...just for blocking purposes..and he can catch a short pass here and there, but I guarantee, no way Freeman gets by Leach on that last missed block by Brown...and he opens holes WAY better than Havili..since PEP is set on a "power" running game, why not get one of, if not the best FB in the league, and we could have gotten him....

Hindsight is 20/20 though...

Just my 2 cents..

The O-Line really needs help..I'm seeing little if any improvement there, esp now that Thomas is out...Cherilious was a slight upgrade.. but they need help BAD!

Back to the topic...NO on Leshoure or any RB, unless we have another injury to the backs..

    • This sums it up for me. Ballard has done a great job bringing in “star” power. He is a very good GM.  Now his players are stepping into prominent roles at key positions.  A lot of resources have been used on the d-line and secondary and they have been developing the past few years. We are about to see if he is a great GM.
    • My worry for this defense - pass defense. We were bottom 10 pass-coverage unit last year and we are returning the same unit + Marvell Tell. We were bottom 10 pass-rush unit in the league last year and we replaced our vet starters with youth that has a lot to prove. None of the EDGE defenders on this roster have been starters in the NFL and we are relying a ton on a rookie to man up the right side.    I guess the hope comes from where the worry comes - the youth. It's possible our young DBs and pass-rushers take steps forward and improve our pass-defense in general.
    • These are the kinds of dumb posts you get over at Youtube. I was reading the gameday thread of Cubs and Reds. Cubs fans were enjoying the moment with their posts and a Reds fan said we are in 2nd place and you guys haven't done anything since 2016. I about fell out of my chair here at work. "Haven't done anything since 2016", that is comical. By that logic the Reds haven't done anything since 1990. Cards haven't even won a WS since 2011. The Cubs just won the Division last year. Reds are 1.5 games ahead of the Cubs and we are in sell mode , it isn't like the Reds are 10 games ahead. By the way I like the Reds but some fans in general ruin it. Some people are so jealous over the Cubs being great over the last 6 years that it is comical. Brewers fans can put a zipper on it period until they win a WS, until then they are irrelevant to any kind of greatness discussion. I just ignore their hate because it isn't worth my time, they are the worst  .
    • I just seen Javy's walk off. Don't poke the bear of a Champion is all I can say - As Homer would say that Garrett character had it coming
    • I think many understand why Luck retired but many will agree it was just the timing of it. He had everyone believing he was going to play in 2019. He should've just made announcement soon after losing to KC in the playoffs. That would've been before the draft. A simple, I talked it over with my wife and I am just in too much pain play anymore. That would've been good enough for everyone IMO.    One thing too that nobody mentions is he replaced a top 3 QB of all-time and the expectations coming out of college for Luck was, he will be close to what Manning was. So of course a lot of people were upset and disappointed when he stepped away. We expected a SB win from Luck as fans.
