Grantland topic on the Colts

We'll be better than that. Evens last year, we were 7-9 by sabermetritions. We've improved in too many areas. 9-7 at the least, most likely 10-6 or 11-5 or better

There are certainly several very strong statistical trends the colts would have to break in order to maintain or even improve. This has been talked about since last season ended. Just like the medical profession though, statistics do not matter to the individual.

I don't think its out of line to predict a decline and while one can point to the statistics and trends all day long, the colts control their own record (to an extent).

My personal opinion is that I think Luck (and other areas of the team) will improve enough to offset any serious decline. I'm thinking 10-6 or 11-5 again....but we'll see how it looks when live bullets start flying.

I think we'll be about the same in the W/L column but stat's wise, we should be improving on multiple fronts.

I'm a bit mystified by that articles primary assertions. Is every team getting worse, no matter what?.

I think we covered this one before (http://forums.colts.com/index.php?/topic/19488-the-curious-case-of-the-colts/?hl=curious) but was still worth a re-read. A oddly constructed piece of writing, combining insight with ignorance and a final hedging of a 8-8 record.

Meh.  I see this team as better than last year.  Their schedule will no doubt be more difficult, but by and large we are no longer a team completely out of depth at every position due to the transition.  We now have multiple solid NTs, we have a plethora of OLBs, a much improved SS position, and many guys who now have a year of experience in the scheme.

 

Couple that with the additions of Bradshaw, DHB, Cherilus, and Thomas, and I'd like think we improved in every aspect.  I see no reason why we can't win at least 10 games.

i feel like this article and thread have been done like 7000 times now.

 

nothing matters except what happens on the field.

I think 8-8 would be a good season. not sure how probable that is seeing as how our competition is pretty stout and we don't have the Chuck-Strong thing pumping through our ridiculously young veins

There is a 50% chance we may or may not win or lose all our games. I can neither confirm not deny that.
