Jeff Fisher vs. Bernie Kosar

Jeff Fisher has ad some pretty harsh words for Cleveland Browns color analyst Bernie Kosar for his comments during the game between the Rams and Browns.

 

 During the game Kosar had critical words for Kellen Clemens, Tavon Austin, and the Rams.

yeah I remember thinking when I was watching that game that I could be hearing about it again. Bernie struck me as what you would get if you put the average NFL fan in the booth as far as those types of comments go. Just think if you took some of the people who comment on various articles on the NFL or ESPN websites...give them a microphone I say!

I thought it was refreshing to hear a commentator who:

 

a) actually knows football and is liberal in dispensing that knowledge, and

 

b) delivered it like it was without feeling the need to kiss tail or suck up. A fan can actually learn more about football with him in the booth.

 

Kosar may not be the commentator this sport deserves, but he's the one it needs.

Kosar was on the Browns broadcast team so why did Fisher answer the questions about his statements.

Jeff you have more important things to worry about than a color guy who is singing your teams praises.

In fairness to Fisher, he was just answering the questions he was being asked when he said that. I doubt he'll spend any time worrying about it.

That's what made it all funny and sad at the same time....and especially knowing Bernie's own issues, plus his jocular delivery, really gave it that stinking bar room drunk quality.

 

It was entertaining television....or as entertaining as a Browns preseason game can be anyway.
