That was definitely an ugly injury. The "don't look if you're squeamish" warning was certainly deserved. I hope the guy is ok...but the 'D' certainly is going to be thinner than it already was. :-(

I would look for Mathews to be brought back when Foster is placed on IR if Mathews isn't on a roster. I don't think he is and the Colts liked him last year he just got caught up in a number crunch at the end of camp.

I was about to say the same thing. I didn't know he signed for the Chargers as well. What's with their 3-4 d taking our 4-3 players all of the sudden? Sanders and now Harris? oh well. I was so excited to watch the colts interior D at the start of the season, and now we are decimated with injuries. This is not good. I was never a fan of letting go of Harris, and now I really wish we hadn't. I understood why we did at the time, but hindsight it always 20/20. I don't think our hybrid DE/DT players can hold their own against the run. Something needs to be done here.

Mathews and Ogbu both on PS....so look for one of them (probably Mathews since he has a bit more experience) to be brought up.

Hope Foster is going to be ok, that did NOT look good.

Hard to even look at.

Agreed...Mathews will likely be brought back to active roster and Foster IR'd. Hopefully Moala comes back soon and the injuries to Nevis, Castonzo and Ijalana aren't serious.

OK. Sign him up and let him serve his suspension for 2 games since we have 5 division games in a run heavy division left :).

He was suspended for four games I believe. This team isn't going anywhere anyways. I doubt Wiliams would come here and in the end he wouldn't do us much good. We would be better off signing Mathews back off the PS and take another look at him for the future.

I thought it was reduced to 2 games.

Activate both mattews and ogbu

We'll only gain 1 roster spot by the likely IR of Foster so someone would have to be cut to bring both up. Besides, if the injury to Nevis isn't very serious and Moala comes back soon then we're fine by just bringing up one of them.

If Diem comes back and Reitz, Ijalana, and Castonzo are healthy (we wont be that lucky) we can release the lineman we signed for the game tonight and use that to bring back the other DT. That or we can always IR Peyton.

Couldn't agree more. We'll be fine in the DT department... most of the injuries seem to be rest related. However, I do not see Peyton coming back this year and nor should he UNLESS he can play the last few games and give us a reason to think he's got 3-4 years and use our high draft pick on someone else.

That said, he has a 1 year minimum full recovery time, our team will not make the playoffs, Peyton needs to rest this year. IR tomorrow would be grand.

Yep like a normal Colts week I think we are gong to spend more time watching the injury reports. It's sad but it's going to be easier to just list who is healthy at this point.

Actually Brayton was less than half a step away from a sack from the DT position. I agree with the rest of what you said and I do think Hughes should get more playing time, but Brayton has played well and so has Anderson minus the personal foul.

I don't really see the point having brayton out there we need to see what hughes can do, keep hughes and anderson rotating at lde and mathis and freeney rotating at rde and have nevis, moala , johnson, mattews ,ogbu at dt. Brayton isn't going to get any sacks.

Brayton was playing DT towards the end becuase we were flat out of bodies. The one DT we had left was Johnson he normally gives us a play or two and then needs to rest anyways because of his size so our next biggest bodies were Brayton and Anderson which is why they were in at DT.

I agree though i would rather see Hughes at D end on defense than Brayton. Anderson is at least giving us a play here or there. Brayton has not done much at the D end spot but did get a little pass rush from the DT spot when he went in there. Maybe we move Brayton to the DT spot like Brock and play Hughes more at the end spot to spell Freeney or Mathis. If we can get a pass rush out of Hughes like we did the little he played tonight it would stop the team going for home run plays when Freeney and Mathis come out to rest.

That's the one bright spot we can take out of tonight on defense, Hughes showed signs of being a first a round pick.
