You're right.

Signing bonus: $250,000

Base salary: $1,100,000

Game bonuses: $650,000

Total: $2,000,000

i like it for 2M. if we dont run him into the ground like NYG was doing to punnish Wilson, he will be the AWSOME other half to Ballard in the power run game.

can teach ballard better blocking technique. both can pound up the gut. both can catch. the line is vastly improved. we have a lead blocker this season. Add in a speedster when needed/desired and the ball is moving on the ground.

we already know the ball was moving through the air. and with an aditional weapon added that gets a bump...

AFC is on notice!

I'm so excited about how nasty this team is going to be this year. Betwenn the moves on Offense and the renovation of the Defense, Chap playing, the overhauled secondary Werner being added....man I'm so excited....

I totally agree!! Yes this is going to be one heck of a team. At least it looks like it on paper. On paper they look awesome! But we don't know about injuries. But we do have depth a lot of it.

Love the move.

I also don't think this means we'll cut Brown. We probably won't re-sign him, but we'll keep him this season. He's a cheap home run threat, and as excited as I am about Kerwynn Williams, I wouldn't feel comfortable with him as our only speed back. I think Carter's the odd man out. Keeping him and losing Brown makes our RB corps a little too one-dimensional.

Bradshaw

Ballard/Brown

Williams

Looks legit to me. That's a stable we can win with, especially with better blocking.

I'd think Carter is more likely.  They've used Brown a fair amount in games.  Carter, not so much.  While the $$$ could figure into it, then Brown would be the obvious choice, but I'd like to think that Brown is worth more to us than Carter.

We will cut some camp body but by the final cut to 53 I bet we cut Brown. We can save $2.2 mil in cap by cutting brown. I just don't think that a 3rd string RB will be worth that much.

Unless another FA comes up that we need the money for, I'd be surprised if we cut Brown. We're looking pretty good cap-wise and I'm not sure how many other moves we'll make.

We should have like 30+ mil in cap space next season. Should be plenty if we want to keep him around.

I like the 1 year deal!!!  Nobody really wanted Bradshaw...presumably the chronic foot problems....lets see what he has to give the blue horseshoe!!  I agree with ya Smurphy!! :colts:  :colts:  :colts:

Williams is not a shoe in Dan Moore is a tackling dummy for camp. I think Carter or brown maybe get traded!

I mentioned the same thing on Carter....thought Brown would be around (I personally like Carter)

My question to all of our GMs here is why in the heck are you cutting decent/good backs just because you signed Bradshaw?  Why are you not cutting Teddy Williams, Josh Gordy (I would say Vaughn...but I say that all of the time) Davin Meggett, or Rick Schmieg...one of the worst Purdue centers of the last 20 years?  I can add 10-12 more.....

I will answer this...this board hates DB and/Carter.  Why don't we 'dislike' some of the worthless players mentioned....that we KNOW will not survive camp???  Help me understand this haters!!!   :)

I agree. Brown has been used in games other than garbage time compared to Carter. Brown also has show flashes when healthy and started to come along. Keep him his last year on the contract and have a good rotation because its inevitable, though unfortunate, that one of our RBs will get knicked up at some point.

I'm not so sure. Last I heard we had like 8.6 mil in cap space. Take 2 for Bradshaw, and about 4 ish for werner and that leaves us with 2.6 mil. Thats kind of for injury signings during the season. Most teams like to keep 6ish for that heading into the season.

Quite possible. There's always the chance Williams or one of the other guys shows enough that we'll cut him now, too. We'll know more once training camp and preseason hits and we can sort through who acclimates the best to Pep's new offense.

That is what I just said and asked....Why?????

We are going to cut a camp body that few people have ever heard of to stay at 90 but by the time we cut down to 53 one of the better known RBs on our roster is going to go. We are not going to go into the season with Ballard, Bradshaw, Brown, Carter, and Williams. Thats the thing people are really asking here.

Werner's cap hit won't be $4m. More like $1.5m.

    • I'm going to respectfully disagree here. I think, regardless of what the fans might think, their lack of FAs and re-signing all our own means the Colts believe this team is truly capable of making waves in 2024, being only 1 play away from a playoff birth/division title.    I think they believe that they are a couple pieces away but clearly need a top skill position wideout to pair with Pittman and Downs. Every pick after that is fillers, depth, and/or less important needs in their minds.    You could wind up being correct but I'm sticking with my trade up scenario where the only way I'm wrong is that we find out later, the Colts could not find a trade partner or that the trade partners really wanted to much in compensation.   I'm sticking with Colts trade to with Chargers and take Nabers at pick 5.
    • Latest update not encouraging? Where's that at? Wasn't in that article.     Everything I have seen, has shown some athleticism has already started to come back.     I posted a couple rehab videos somewhere a month ago or so.   He is already dunking and looked very quick on take off and on his straight line running.   Can't remember if there was a change of direction in the the video but I think there was that as well.     Saying that, I think we still bring in a CB, but everything I have seen has been encouraging in regards to rehab.
    • Steelers picking at No.20 probably want him to get past Bengals and Jaguars so that they can draft Adonai Mitchell, so could be an article blessed by the organization too
    • I think we stay at 15, hope Bowers is there but dont think he will be. With latest update not encouraging that Flowers will be ready seems like Corner more likely to be taken over WR.  First round corner paired with Brents with Jones first corner off the bench should yield better results then last season.   ttps://www.aol.com/cb-dallis-flowers-rehabbing-achilles-084056300.htm
    • I think the draft falls this way:   1) Bears: Caleb 2) Commanders: Daniels 3) Vikings (trade with Pats) Maye 4) Cardinals: MHJ 5) Colts (trade with Chargers) Nabers   Reason for my top 5 is that I think the Patriots really like McCarthy, coupled with the Brady/McCarthy Michigan thing plus the Pats need more player help, it makes sense for the Pats to trade back to 11 but still be in front of the Raiders and Broncos to get their QB   Colts trade up reason: I think the Chargers need O-line help as well as other players like WR, however I believe the Chargers can still get a top LT at 15 and WR late in round one or if they trade back into round one which I believe they will attempt to do in this scenario. Plus, the Harbough Indy connection makes this trade likely.   Even if the Commanders take Maye at 2, I still think the Vikings trade up and then grab Daniels. Pats take McCarthy.   I think this is the year the Colts finally will mortgage a little bit of the future for the wideout. I'm going to stick with this. I hope my gut is correct here, we'll see.
