Barry you ________ you!   I think I might have dreamed this once or twice.

Any married person will tell you that sometimes it seems preferable to not speak the same language. :P

I've dreamed it alot the first few years afterwards but it was real thankfully , , but love what u said and fully understand it

My friend goes to Leon every year or few and always asks if he shoulds look her up for me jokingly

However, I must admit I wish I had less fun and found a true soul mate for life , just never worked out and as once explained to southwest did get engaged here, gave huge ring .  , excellent quality as well , caught her switching stones , actrual;ly made an entirely fake replica and that ended that, where I live to many grew up in wealth and u know thats always on there mind and arent shy abouit it, and ones that didnt, well Regarding those  all i found were ones that wanted it above all else & not the qualitry oif the person, that came second

Never a diovorce in my family tree , so i knew what real love was & what I wanted

I have a friend with similar concerns, and two expensive divorce settlements.

He's still looking though. It's never too late.

True but right now even with mom at assited living still are way to much I have to do to make sure she gets right treatment with her age and variouse serious health issues, few types of tumors / carcinomas  and going to outside specialisats, MRi , CAT scans Etc Etc  and meeting wheelcahir vans an hr before her Dr appointment , one just yeterday etc takes forever like a half day and wipes me oput, even needed an IV at My dr afterwards yesterday as was dead tired and just run down, to many ER  visits and Hospital stays, &  tons of paperwork come in mail I need to do for her like earlier today had to have many affidavits notorized that i still retain power of attorney eetc etc and send to Various NY retirement agencies for her, ok this is yearly but always something comes up in mail, plus all my Drs too & I have more than her

Very little spare time to go have fun , Need to meet a cool dead head ( Grateful Dead )  colt fan one day with just enough hippie and just enough sophistication / that is some intelligence, looks would be nice but not a primary concern , just a bonus

Example of how mom is 24 hr needs --

Last night had to go over to mom as dementia made her forget certain issues and had to talk her anxiety down so can breathe with copd as brain tumor has caused copd by causing  paralyzed vocal cords and cords caused all day salivary & mucus secretion ,she has to constantly spit it out and carries multiple tissues with her always to spit into,  Occasionally gets periods of real excessive secretion and then gets worried and forgets just periods of same & with anxiety COPD gets worse

, Nurse checked her just before leaving as I  called & someone said thought was still there, caught her leaving for day as luckily had paperwork so still there as should of been gone,  after I called  & caught her as whomever my mom spoke to  first  said nurse  gone but still should of called moms night case manager but didnt-- then again with dementia mom may have gotten it all wreoing or explained her problem oall wrong -- .Mom then called me 45 minutes later as waits till real bad as g hates to mbother me ,  I made some suggestions  to nurse and orders were written based on them , Of curse nurse had forgotten certain meds she had and left instructions to monitor mom periodically on a more frequent basis and given certain med PRN to all night med passer & night case manager

still I wanted to check for myself so I went over for awhile

, The head nurse I trust more than the others & she wasnt there so it was one of the other 2 that had checked her out and I spoke with. I never like it when I have to make suggestions on things that nurse should do automaticaly

Things l;ike this happen to much, hard to make plans cant tell u how many concert tickets I gave away as things just come up needing my attention , but what do u expect at 94 & a host of medical issues

That's not you is it?

About as close as I got was building igloos from snow mounds in my driveway in Lexington when I was a kid;)

Not me in that one, nor was it from a trip I've been on. That's the north ridge of K2.

Someday maybe, lol...

Yup, if I wanna see a mountain, I'll buy a postcard of 1 or watch the Natl. Geographic Channel. GoPats did your spouse accuse you of making a mountain out of a molehill & you said "no dear, I will show you what a real mountain looks like okay." Just Kidding my friend!  haha

Oh the mountains/molehill metaphors fly freely in the GoPats Household...

The missus fully supports my affliction though. ;)

That is a slur on my homeland. There is no rain forecast on day 9.

Sorry BHC, I meant no disrespect with my heavy rain umbrella picture that I posted earlier. I respect you & the toughness & roughed individualism of your fellow Scottish Countrymen my friend.  :worthy:  :hat:

I had a feeling that you were joking around BHC. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate the history & culture of Scotland & any country outside U. S. borders & that not every American is an arrogant, know in all *hle that's all my friend.

Interesting. Scotland is actually temperate despite it's latitude due to the gulf stream going over it .  Apparently living on the North Sea side is a bit nasty however;)

I did visit Edinburgh Castle as a young lad when living in England.

Love it! Football is meant to be played in the elements. If ya cant beat a little bit of snow then maybe you don't deserve to be the SB champions.

Exactly fvantagio! Domes make players soft & weak in knees man. Where's the Manifest Destiny to combat the elements & still crush your opponent? NFL players are not delicate little flowers that will wilt under harsh conditions for crying outloud.

I posted this in the Denver thread, but I think it probably should have been in this one.

Here's what I find interesting. Looking back at the last 10 years and which team won the Superbowl, only twice was it won by a dome or warm weather team. The eight other Champions in the last decade came from Baltimore, they came from New York, they came from Green Bay, they came from Pittsburgh, and they came from Boston...they each played post season games in cold, wintry conditions. Not only that...but in the one 'bad weather' Superbowl played over this time, it was the dome team who ended up beating the team who was supposed to thrive in poor conditions. The best teams are the ones who execute the best and turnover the ball least...REGARDLESS of the conditions. That holds true in 75 degree sun AND 35 degree rain and wind.

Lets be honest...the real issue for many in this debate is about fan comfort...they are worried about themselves, NOT about making sure there are 'fair and equal conditions' on the field. And again, the only fans who really seem to make a stink about it are the fans used to watching games indoors.
