Nt Prospects?

Recommended Posts

I thought he was an Under Tackle like Nevis?

Nope he played in the A-gap and sometimes over center for LSU, which is the NT. I read a scouting report on mocking the draft about him, and he looks very good. He is a bit raw and not fully developed yet, but he has tons of potential and upside. We use a rotation at DT so he would be a great fit in my opinion. Right now, I'd say he and Brandon Thompson are my 2 top NT's right now.

Thompson is not very impactful in the run game, however; with Freeney, Thompson, Nevis, Mathis, that would be a pass rushing machine from the front four!

yeah we can def snag him in the 3rd or 4th unless he moves up thru the combine pro days etc etc

I would be all for that selection, would ideally like to get him the fourth, but would like to see someone like Poe selected earlier! As Short is more of a solid player than an instant impact player.

Oh come on, Brandon Thompson has been a good run stopper this year. That's what most people say about him. I agree that would be an explosive D-line, but I still think your underating Thompson's ability to hold the point of attack and stop the run.

Michael Brockers scouting report makes him very enticing though. I'm still stuck between those 2. Dontari Poe is my 3rd choice right now.

I would take any of the three, whether that be through a trade down or picking one in the second round. But, Thompson is a Kevin Williams, he is a penetrating Nose Tackle, he is not great against the run, even the CBS scouting report backs what I say, they are calling him another Drake Nevis on that report! Brockers has huge upside, I think he is more like Thompson, more of a penetrator... I am fine with that, either one of these guys, but, I would prefer bigger linebackers then....

thats why I like Kawann Short the guy is like a polar bear on the line the lane stuffer that we need but he can also penetrate and all though he doesnt have many pass rush moves I think he goes perfect with Nevis and our other pass rushing DTs

I enjoyed watching him play, I like him as a 4th round NT in a rotation.
