Are the Colts interested in Ricky Jean-Francois?

I'm totally down with this......

Multiple reports have now linked the Colts to San Francisco 49ers' NT Ricky Jean-Francois.

Yeah, the Colts need help on their defensive line, and Jean-Francois can play both defensive end and nose tackle in the 3-4 defense. At 26 years old, he would be an appealing option to many teams, such as the Colts. He figures to make around $3-4 million a year, so he wouldn't break the bank by any means. If the Colts are serious about landing him, however, it may take a little more than that to lure Jean-Francois away from the other teams pursuing him.

The Colts defensive line currently looks like this: Defensive End: Clifton Geathers, Lawrence Guy, Cory Redding, Fili Moala. Defensive Tackle: Kellen Heard, Ricardo Matthews. Nose Tackle: Brandon McKinney, Antonio Johnson, Martin Tevaseau, Josh Chapman. There is room for improvement there, the question is whether that improvement will come from Ricky Jean-Francois.

Anyone else tired of all this speculation? 4:00 can't get here soon enough.

What about Drake Nevis?

I don't think he would play NT if he came here. Possibly a DT in a 4 man front, but we play 4 man fronts very rarely. I like him though and would like to see him come here.

Either way he knows the nuances of the position and could teach them to the young guys on our team regardless of if its chapman or moala or someone we draft.  Bringing in guys from the most stacked defense in the league can't be a bad thing!

Adam Caplan, who was very good sources IMO, says that RJF will meet with eagles tomorrow and if not deal colts are next...fingers crossed, really think we need someone else at DE.

Other possible target might be alan branch

funny, fans kept mentioning car williams but it seems no team considered him like a real star since there is absolutely no rumors on him.

Ricky Jean-Francois - DL - 49ers

Free agent DT Ricky Jean-Francois is headed to Indianapolis for a visit with Colts officials.

Jean-Francois' Eagles visit has ended and his free-agent tour is continuing. Typically, players do not wind up signing with teams they visit and leave without a deal. Perhaps Philly will call Jean-Francois' agent on the flight.
