How suited is the current Colts offensive roster to the West Coast offense?

So maybe Squat Press would more of an indicator?

I would say squat and dead lift. But usually you should have a good balance between them. Leg press is nothing special. I could crank out like 1200# or something crazy like that. But could only squat 500. Erm 495 ;) I just like to round up

does not matter if you get a hat on a hat if you get bullied when you do get a hat on a hat, our Guards many times got a hat on a hat (Satele spent a ton of time missing blocks completely at Center) they just got bullied backwards or got little push, Who I am hoping we have a shot to get is Travis Frederick, I think he would fit very well in our scheme...Take for example Vasquez currently Chargers Guard 39 bench press reps that to me If he is technically sound) says he can play in our scheme vs for example Joe Reitz benched 25 reps, thats not to say he could not do more or that BP reps are a great indicator of what scheme these guys will fit in but it does show that he cant last that long shoving a lot of weight around consistently which is what you need to be able to do one on one through a whole game....all just my opinion of course

If your looking for push on the Offensive line you need to look at what he is squatting rather than bench press. Run blocking is all about leverage and leg drive and hat placement. Bench press is more of a pass protection measurement. Square can tell you if he has the leg strength and leg power to drive defenders off the ball, while bench press is just the strength to keep a defender off your body in pass protection. Take Josh Chapman for example he can squat well over 600-800 lbs(I dont know the exact number) that's how he can hold up in the run game with all that lower body power and explosiveness

Watching Travis Frederick as much as I did I would love to get him in at Guard

Man I run out of likes quick! But yes I agree! Helps to have the junk in your trunk to help with the weight also.

I do wonder how will Hilton fit? he is a deep explosive playmaker so a short passing game doesnt seem to match with him...of course the WR will be there for him but i do wonder how will our new OC will use him?

I have not read anything that says there will not be deep routes in Peps offense ... I do not know why everyone keeps thinking that a hybrid WCO = no deep passes.

errrrr wow nice answer...of course there will be deep shots there is not an offense that wont...but TY thrived with BA because of his vertical passing love. TY does not run the crispest routes so i believe is fair to question how will he fit...also i think WCO likes bigger WR...you could have just said...he will be our deep pass specialist you know? or his YAC will make up for the lower ratio of deep passes

The question isn't whether he calls deep plays or not, the question is how many a game?  Explosive plays are those >20 yards.  How many did BA call a game, and how many did Luck convert a game?  Find these numbers and the benchmark is set.  Then Pep can be compared once the season begins to roll.

And does Stanford use a FB?

I think this has been answered before, either in this thread or elsewhere, but they do. Ryan Hewitt was their fullback, and he was a converted TE (6'4 248). He had 34 catches and 5 TDs in Luck's senior year. He was less involved as a receiver this season, though.
