At that point.....incomplete was a fantastic result for that play.

Yeah, the completion would have gained the Pack a big chunk of yards. Even if you want to go for the TD, you have 2 All Pro guards. Yeah, they've had their hands full with Raji and Pickett, but you have got to go for that. Especially when you have power runners like Ingram and Thomas

not even sure why he tried to complete the pass

To me, it looked like he could have still scrambled away from the pass rush to his left, bought some time and have the chance to throw on the run for the TD

I'm sure as his receiver was diving for the ball he was thinking, "Don't you even think of catching that ball!!!"

I saw that too. I thought "if he catches that ball, Payton will give him an earful"

Why couldn't the Saints had this D when we played them in the Super Bowl!!

They did. Unfortunately our D was just that much worse and practically non-existent.(See Freeney being hurt)

Special teams also sucked as usual. Thanks, Hank.

He tries to make himself sound like the greatest receiver ever..."I've been on many hands teams in that position..."

    • Surtain should defend Pittman very well. That keeps AR completing his typical 10 or passes. So that would be nothing like a Winston offense.  We will do well scoring 13 points in Denver.  One would think their ROOKIE will do well against our D.
    • Yeah that’s a good point that I never thought of. My only argument would be that tackling was also an Issue when Flus was here. Also for what it’s worth, I don’t ever remember prime Leonard missing tackles. Scheme for sure plays a part, but it’s also just talent. We’ve also seen RBs get past the D-line and when the LBs come in to clean stuff up they are just straight up whiffing. I mean Franklin and Speed were 7th and 6th round picks respectively.
    • I think that's an oversimplified way of looking at it.   Per PFF Roquan Smith is one of the top tacklers this season and he has 7 missed tackles for the season while the player with most missed tackles on the Ravens roster is Kyle Hamilton with 13, then Ar'Darius Washington with 9, then Brandon Stephens with 8 and then finally Smith.   Robert Spillaine of the Raiders is also a top tackler. He has 9 missed tackles for the season. The guys with most missed tackles on the Raiders is Jack Jones with 11 and then Spillaine tied with Nate Hobbs and Divine Deablo at 9.   Germaine Pratt of the Bengals has 15 missed tackles. Most missed tackles on the Bengals is Geno Stone with 16.   Bobby Wagner has 7 missed tackles. Wagner only has the 9th most missed tackles on the Commanders roster.   Those are just a few examples. At some point talent is a thing too.
    • Our opponent was weak.  For the $$$ Ryan won't be missed.  On the season, Kelly has a +63.7 overall grade (per PFF), including a +70.3 pass blocking grade. He’s allowed a sack and 7 total QB pressures during 222 total pass blocking snaps—having started 7 games so far for the Colts during the 2024 season. In Kelly’s absence, rookie interior lineman Tanor Bortolini has largely held his own out there, with a PFF grade of +65.1 overall in 5 career starts—while 4th-year pro Danny Pinter made a strong spot start during this past Sunday’s victory, recording a +82.9 overall grade.
    • And get burnt deep.  Did you watch what happened when we blitzed Sunday?   Silly indeed
