Which Team Winning A Super Bowl In Indy Would Be The Biggest Nightmare Possible

The worst team I could imagine winning the SB in Indy? Probably the NY Yankees. Because that would confuse me and cause me to question the sanity of my world.

The Colts are the renamed New York (originally Boston) Yanks and I see nothing wrong with them winning it although I would be very surprised.

New York Yanks (although technically the NFL doesn't consider the Yanks and Colts to be the same)

I thought they came from Texas or something. The NFL history is convoluted. Very hard to know what really happened.

I could never figure out why my Dad (who never seemed to be that concerned with sports) seemed to like the Colts - or at least Johnny U. It's a big reason that I'm a Colts fan, but it made little sense to me. I found a book which listed all the comings and goings of NFL teams, and deduced that the Colts had evolved from the Brooklyn Dodgers. Since my Dad grew up a Brooklyn Dodger (baseball) fan, I thought that I had solved a great mystery and forever justified why I loved an out-of-town team. So I asked him about it. He gave me a barely interested "uhhhh huhhhhhh". GREAT, mystery solved.

Until the internet came along which shows no link whatsoever between the Dodgers and Colts, and sadly my Dad isn't around to give me a better answer.

Here are some of the Vick quotes:

"It's almost as if everyone wanted to hate me. But what have I done to anybody? It was something that happened, and it was people trying to make some money."

"Some of us had to grow up in poverty-stricken urban neighborhoods, and we just had to adapt to our environment. I know that it's wrong. But people act like it's some crazy thing they never heard of.”

Thanks for posting that link I had never read that article and was glad to be able to do so. I'm sorry I have no use for the guy after what he did and will never have. I have a dog that is my family and I can't believe anyone can hurt and torture any animal no matter what their upbringing is.

JMO of course.

Now back to the post I don't want to see the Jets win the SB in Indy ( or anywhere for that matter ) lol

Patriots - No explanation necessary.

Jets - Their fans are insufferable for a team that hasn't won squat in forever.

Chargers - Philip Rivers.

I'm really beginning to feel the love here....

Personally, I would LOVE to see my Bolts playing at the Lucas Oil Stadium for the Super Bowl. But I am a little bias.

1: Patriots.

1a: Steelers: Because I'm sick of them winning Superbowls.

1b: Chargers (Although they've owned us to the point of beyond embarassing already anyhow.) Bob Sanders hoisting the Lombardi will make me cry with laughter.

1c: The Saints

I suppose I'm rooting for Baltimore. Even though they'd rub our noses in it, I wouldn't really mind it. Even the Jets I could stomach over any of the above 4.

For what it's worth, i would have no problems with the Chargers winning it in Indy.

For one thing, despite the two playoff losses there hasn't been nearly the rivalry with the Chargers that there has been with the Pats. Rivers used to annoy me, but now that I understand his personality a bit more I'm fine with it - and he's a darn good player.

For another thing, the Chargers have been scary for some time now and are arguably overdue. If they have to win it, I'd rather it be a year like this. If they had knocked the Colts out a THIRD time and THEN won it here that would be a different story.

Plus I love Bob Sanders - I wish him well.

i wanna see the pats lift the trophy every year, i don't care what stadium they're in.

I can relate to this. I feel the same way about my own team, except we've never been able to get it done. The Pats, on the other hand, have done it repeatedly. You can't argue with success. I hate losing to the Pats, but that doesn't diminish my respect for their team. I just continue to be hopeful that we can put the pieces together in order to be better. A tall order, but not impossible. Until then, in order to be the best, we must be able to beat the best. For now, that means beating teams like the Pats. Maybe, this is the year.

Pats vs. Bolts Sunday...should be a good one.

Gotta be, hands down, Baltimore.

Forget our rivals, they are an enemy. They essentially declared war on us by spitting not only on our team for their past transgressions, but our city, our fans. The towels they sport when we play them says "Indianapolis sucks". Not "Colts suck"....Indianapolis sucks.

We would never hear the end of this, and admittedly, I would be hurt if they won a SB here. Heck, if they even showed up at the Indy SB I would vomit.

I would rather see Brady break every SB QB record here than to have those dirty birds fly in here and crap on our fair city.

It won't look anything like the Colts' stadium when the SB is there so it really doesn't matter. But, if I had to pick a team, it would be between NE and SD, leaning toward NE as my answer.

What would be sweet is NE LOSING the SB at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The last time they played in the post-season in Indy, they lost...why not again?

What did he go to jail for?

It wasn't for torturing/killing dogs.

According to Wikipedia:

"He pleaded guilty to "Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture"" and "victimization and killing of pit bulls" was considered as aggravating circumstances that led prosecutors to exceed the federal sentencing guidelines for the charge."

Michael Vick would not have gone to prison for running an illegal poker game operation. I am sure of that.

Michael Vick has served his time and paid a terrible (but just) price for his actions. It appears he repents his past evil actions and has reformed. As much as I abhor animal abuse, I believe it is time to let him forward in his life.

Uljas, no Vick did not go to prison for illegal poker operations, but dog fighting does involve gambling; that is, betting on which dog is going to win the fight . . . so to that extent he was involved in an activity of interstate commerce involving gambling (dog fighting) . . .

I'd imagine seeing Tom Brady ever win another Super Bowl would be a nightmare for most Colts fans. Then add him winning in front of them on top of it, and I think it would be akin to a finger wave for Colts fans. Then the "He's the best ever" talks to follow.

Brady's team is so good they can win a SB with Trent Dilfer. There will be never a case to call Brady the greatest.

The Patriots' CBs are vastly superior to the Colts, so I have no idea why you're bringing this up. McCourty will be a top 3 CB. Bodden was on IR last year, but is thought to be an outstanding #2, and Ras-I Dowling should prove to be a solid nickle; Arrington/Butler will be serviceable back-ups.

Chung is a very good safety; yes, there are questions about who will be starting as Merriweather's replacement, but here's the thing: Merriweather is not suited to the Patriots' new defensive schemes, which requires discipline and closely adhering to the scheme. Merriweather was a free-styler who will BOMB in Chicago.

Outside LBs? You mean besides Jerrod Mayo, a guy who's lead the NFL in tackles two out of his three seasons? <img src='http://forums.colts.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/31hysterical.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='lol' />

The other LBs, from Guyton to Ninkovich, etc., are very solid LBs.

Aging line? Which one? If you paid any attention at all, you'd know that the Patriots brought in Haynesworth (who's not old), they have Wilfork (who's not old), and will rotate guys such as Ellis, Carter, etc.

Gotta love the usual, incorrect claims, though.

With all due respect to you,you seem like you know what you are talking about, the Patriots defense is god awful,I would be suprised if they won the SB.Ravens,Saints,Jet's,Packers, are all better teams.

You have to laugh at the last two posts.

Hindsight is 20/20, eh? Nothing like showing up 3 weeks later.

You're the one that said MCCourty will be a top 3 corner

last time I checked getting burned by Vincent Jackson and Stevie Johnson back to back weeks doesn't qualify you as a top 3 corner

The entire patriots secondary is awful

same goes for the Colts

worst nightmare: Pats, Saints, Steelers, Anyone else in the AFC South (surprised no one's mentioned that....then again the odds of it are slim but still)...in that order

I'd have no problem with Jets, Ravens, Chargers (that rivalry kind of died off)

Here's to a Bills vs. Lions SB in Indy :drink:

lol...hey, stranger things have happened :P

ps. Only thing Vick is sorry for is getting caught. .you'll never convince me otherwise so I won't comment any further on it. I also lost a lot of respect for Dungy after he was so quick to appeal to give Vick a second chance but then was so judgemental of Rex Ryan for using foul language. Just my opinion.

Ok I've given it some more thought and actually i wouldn't be as upset if it were Houston or Tenn though unlikely it'd be Tenn. Let Houston have their moment in the sun now cause when Manning comes back they're in the backseat again. :D hehehehehe

Originally I would say the Patriots, but you have a really good point, it is the Ravens. They would never let us forget this. The question is which will be worse, the fans or the media(99% being ESPN of course). New England might brag about it for a bit, but it would really just be another ring for them.

After the Ravens the Patriots are a close second and right behind them the Steelers. Chargers, Jets and Cowboys follow the Steelers respectably.
