Nice first post.

Sorry... I had this same name on the last forum.. Just been lurking since then.

I just dont understand the over-the-top negativity and pessimism. This game was always a long shot. It would have been great to get the upset, but what is important is that the team continues to get better each week. Rookies are going to make mistakes.

Wonder why Tom is still out there?

Little man syndrome or something? I get making a statement, but why risk anything when this game is over.

He's paid to play QB for the NE Patriots.

The Colts could feel free to, I don't know, stop them?

This is tough to watch, but have people really forgotten that we were 2-14 last year? Yes this team has shown flashes of greatness and there is a lot to be excited about, but a rookie team, missing their head coach - getting blown out by NE isnt exactly a shocker or something to hang our heads about. We all (well, those of us who are honest) knew this was a possibility.

Learn from the mistakes and get better.

Exactly. Thank you.

What does that have to do with what I said? Lol.

I just questioned why risk an injury when this game is so blatantly over? Why are you acting like I said something about them running up the score? I just think they are clearly trying to send a message to us and the league, and I question if that's the smartest/safest decision.

Also backup QBs get payed as well, and are conveniently available for situations just like this one haha.

Go check my score prediction whre I say - 'if we lose turnover battle' in the thread, it's only a little worse in real life than i predicted. But I don't have to like the poor play and decisions our rookies make. I just understand and sometimes expect them. Just don't want them. :)

Ah, misinterpreted what you wrote. Sorry, I'm mad.

I'd have liked to see Brady at least get his uniform dirty today.

haha naw I probably could have phrased my thoughts more clearly, but I know it's the NFL. It's not a league for making friends and playing nice. You don't want them to score you stop them. Period.

I've just never understood how the advantages outplay the risks when you keep starters in when games are decided. Not just the Pats either. I thought the same thing about us when Freeney got hurt before our Saints Superbowl.

    • Feel better and keep fighting the good fight. Yeah we’re in the slow parts of the forum now, lots of people doing work outside.
    • That's an interesting question. Per Spotrac: "Chad Kelly signed a 2 year, $1,230,000 contract with the Indianapolis Colts, including an average annual salary of $615,000. In 2020, Kelly will earn a base salary of $750,000, while carrying a cap hit of $750,000."   However, per John Dixon: "the new CBA eliminates unlimited practice-squad salaries. All practice-squad players are paid a fixed weekly salary established under the CBA — except for Group 4 players, for whom the CBA establishes a minimum and maximum salary. In 2020, both are $12,000 for Group 4; all other practice-squad players will be paid $8,400 per week. In 2022, the Group 4 salaries must be between $15,400 and $19,900, while all others will be paid $11,500."   So I wonder what happens with the 2nd year of Chad's contract (and several other PS players across the league).
    • I'm not so sure he would survive on the PS.  Last year we paid him a significant salary to keep teams away.  This year we won't be able to.  If he has a good camp and preseason I could see him landing as a backup somewhere even with Cam out there.  I would bet a number of teams would be interested especially at what his contract would look like.  Maybe even the Patriots.  I believe at the end of this year if he was on our roster he would be a restricted FA not unrestricted.  That would give us a little more control and might be an additional factor on keeping him on the roster this year.
    • Yes the new CBA changed that. Except for a couple veterans you can keep on the PS and pay more. Basically Kelly would be getting a 150k pay cut.
    • Most reports coming out have Hoyer starting over Stidham who isnt ready, as we saw last year Hoyer is done, shot,Curtis Painter level.....who is their go to wr ? Sanu ? M Lee ? N Henry ?  Go to rb ? Michel laid an egg last season with 3.7 yards per carry and now D's will load up even more vs their run game .  The talent simply is not there, they tank for a season and try and reload with Lawrence and bring in a few Free Agents. Brady isnt there to save this outmatched squad. Go to Vegas and bet the under on wins which is 9.5, they wont reach 10 wins, not even close, easy money trust me. I know a few of you here followed my XFL bets and cashed in with me on over under on the games coming in under consistently..cash in on this one as well.
