Why don't we just wait and see how everything plays before we declare Polian a bum for cutting players we think should make the roster.

did anyone mention polian being a bum other than you? I simply stated I think olshansky could be a valuable pick up. others agreed. there are rumors about a trade and people speculated on that a bit. other than nothing about anyone being a bum... maybe you should learn how to read. you seem to have a problem with that.

I think if you read around the forum today there are a lot of people more or less saying Polian doesn't know what he is doing today.

The rumors about the trade and the fact we might very well be looking at adding a guy like this is what I was getting at by saying why don't we wait for things to play out.

I guess thats pointed at me,again i was just stating that the colts drafts have not been great lately.I want the best for the colts and polian is my gm and i like him,but by critiquing the man does not mean i dislike him.

I don't think I said your name at all so if you choose to take it at you that's up to you. You have not been the only one to go after Polian today.

Highly unlikely we'd go after Olshansky. Yes he has great size but look at his history. He's played his entire career in a 3-4 scheme. While it's certainly not impossible to make the switch to 4-3, I think the Colts would be more likely to look for someone already familiar with the scheme.

The Colts have added 6 starters, a punter, and (pending more cuts) 8 backups from the past three drafts, plus done a solid job with UFAs. Several of those backups can be expected to become starters down the road. When you churn your roster like that and remain one of the best teams in football you are doing something right.

I assume the perception about the Colts drafting comes from Hughes, Brown, Ugoh, and Gonzalez. Note that three of these gentlemen may still well turn out to be vital contributors down the road, and that the highest drafted amongst them was at #27. The others were #31, #32, and #42. In contrast (by position) Freeney was #11, James #4, Glenn and Harrison #19. The Colts have found plenty of gems littered all through the draft, but generally speaking the exceptional players are usually gone pretty quickly.
