There are different Tiers of greatness when it comes to same core's or the same QB/Coach combo:
Level 1 teams are teams that have won 3 or more SB's with close to the same core of players or same QB and Coach
70's Steelers = 1974, 75, 78, 79 (4)
80's 49ers = 1981, 84, 88, 89 (4)
90's Cowboys = 1992, 93, 95 (3)
2000-2019 Patriots = 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, 2018 (6)
Level 2 teams - The Colts from 2003-2009 fall into this category. We were a team that won a lot of games (89-23 in that stretch) but only won 1 SB but the 1 SB puts us at Level 2 because of the ton of other wins we had during that 7 year stretch. Another example would be a team like 90's 49ers with Steve Young at QB, they only won 1 SB and won a lot of games too. The 49ers during the 90's was Level 2. The back to back champ Broncos of 1997/1998 are Level 2 as well, they won a lot of games during the 90's but IMO it takes 3 championship to be a Level 1 team.
Level 3 teams - The 90's Bills fall into this category for example. They went to 4 straight SB's from 1990-1993 but never won a SB.
Level 4 teams - That would be like the Dolphins in the 80's with Marino. Went to 1 SB and lost but won a lot of games during the 80's with Marino.
2009 was like a perfect mix of 2005 and 2009 I thought they were very talented. Had a few close games. Some massive blowouts. And just couldn't finish the deal, once again the freaking Colt Killer..
But I feel the the best version of teams don't always win. I don't necessarily think the 2019 Chiefs were better than 2018
2004 Steelers >2005 Steelers
2011 Packers > 2010 Packers
2014 Seahawks > 2013 Seahawks
2019 Ravens > 2020 Ravens.. lol they'll probably win this year.
But then again this is all just my dumb opinion. But it's all in good fun lol
