I've been reading on the forum about passer rating and proper ways to measure it. That lead me to try and create my own passer rating. Yes, today was a slow day . Now, I believe I've got something good here, and I would just like to get some feedback to improve it.

Here's the formula:

(((Yards / Attempts) x (Completion %)) + (TD - INT)) x 100

So you take the yards, divide it by the number of attempts, then you multiply it by the completion percentage. Get a number. After you add it to the next equation which is touchdowns - interceptions. Then you multiply by 100. After that divide by 6, and that's your final number.

It's not perfect obviously, but I think it's not too bad.

I've got some numbers from the players from this weekend.

Andrew Luck = 78.09

Aaron Rodgers = 108.53

Drew Brees = 138.31

Tom Brady = 105.38

Alex Smith = 207.81

Peyton Manning = 142.07

Matt Ryan = 88.96

Kevin Kolb = 53.8

It's interesting. I'm not getting the same #'s out of yesterday's game and a single game is a small sample size no matter the formula.

It would be interesting on how it ranked the top 10 seasons, or even career #'s...

I have to work out the touchdowns and interceptions part. Obviously becomes bigger as they play more games.
