Question on Passing Statistics

As I read the statistics on the games yesterday I see a discrepancy on all games. Example":

Colts: Passing Yards=345 but under this section is individual stats and the passing is "Luck 31-55-1 362.

I see this difference in every game The 362 number is the number written in the game story so why the "345"? It cannot be another player throwing becuase the numbers would be greater than the 362 if the passes were completed. Anyone?

The 362 is the gross yards.

The 345 is the net. Gross-minus sack yards. In the NFL sack yards come off the gross passing yards. Now, why they deduct it from the team totals and not the individual QB as well, I have yet to see an answer.

In college a sack counts as a rushing attempt and negative rushing yards.
