Lions Came To Play

Maybe Nate Burleson is a guy to get on my next fantasy team. Stafford can't miss him. He did drop one TD but he has been getting a lot of looks and delivering.

Eh, New England will adjust and blow them out of the water. Reminds me of the Thanksgiving game last year...

I am not sure they have an answer right now. The Pats look lost on offense and defense. They're getting their butts kicked.

Why does New England still get lucky with turnovers? Very fortunate to recover a fumble deep in their own territory, and last year vs. the Jets in the playoffs they recovered two fumbles deep in their own territory, which could've been disastrous...

Like Brady hitting a linebacker in the back and it's just an incompletion.

Eh, they're driving down the field despite the Lions D in his face.

I think the Lions D won't be much of a factor in the 2nd quarter.

And with that this is my last post until I have a few more approved posts.

Peace.

EDIT: I guess there's this posting limit until you have a certain amount of posts, and I can make only 3 posts a day until I have a certain amount of posts approved.

I was around at the old Colts board and was a regular, so hopefully a mod here like JJ will recognize me and take the leash off.

They are only having luck with the screen passes though. They are getting beat up in every facet of the game so far.

Approved posts?

This is just ugly now. Someone needs to get Shannon Sharpe on the sidelines with a phone to the white house.

Wait a second. Hold the phone. The refs are starting to get in on the action. They are now throwing flags against the Lions for winning.

Nice unbiased commentary from Mr.Blueshoe.

Thank you.

It's 17-3 so I ain't making this stuff up. Even Deirdork just said Brady has spent most of the game on the ground.

Scratch that it's 17-10. Brady just hit Welker deep.

Was more so referring to the, "Lions getting flagged for playing good defense" comment, but it's all in good fun.

Oh that was uncalled for on my part. :ref:

The refs do seem to be making stuff up though. They called a penalty on the Pats and then said they meant the Lions earlier.

And it's not just because of "bad corners" that they scored. Torched plenty of strong defenses last year. :P

Oh no that was just bad corner play there. Anyone who can throw the ball 40 yards with decent accuracy would have hit that homerun.

Lions second team offense was just a (PI) penalty (that should have been called) against the Patriots first team defense from scoring a TD. They still managed to drive down the field and put up 3.

20-10 Lions!!!

Brady and the Pats first team offense is still in the game though. Got to pad those stats against the Lions second team defense.

My man Silva just picked him off!!! So much for padding those stats against a bunch of rookies.

Man I wanted us to draft Silva too!!

Patriots first team defense still out there getting burnt. lol

Patriots first team 0

vs.

Lions second team 10

Lions are smoking them.

On a side note, I loved McCourty in the draft last year and he had a great season. But if he keeps looking this bad then the Pats are going to offer him to us for Lacey.

Did you hear the broadcasters talking about the Patriots leaving a lot of D players in Foxboro. They always make excuses for the Pats. They are getting out played plain and simple. I'm betting Brady will continue in the 3rd. :brady:

Want me to call him about the trade. lol

Yeah, I caught that too. Deerdork is a closet Pats fan.

Brady is going play the whole game. lol

McCourty is getting burnt by first and second teamers. It's got to be embarrassing. You won’t hear the announcers talk about that though.

Didn't Drew Stanton take Brady's job at Michigan?

Yeah he is the Lions third string QB and he is playing now.

By the way, Brady and the Pats first team is still in.

Lions miss a field goal from their backup kicker and it is still 27-10.

They finally took Brady out. But they still have most of the starters in the game. Pats just tried to hit Ocho-Sinko deep but great D by the Lions.

Hoyers next pass tipped and almost picked!!

That next one's gotta hurt. Good thing they took Brady out.

i said it before and ill say it again lions will win the north.

This is a 12 round beat down at this point. Lions have won every round even with their backups against the Pats starters.

Brady just overthrows his receiver by a mile and the announcers say it was a mix-up. lol

He clearly missed the pass!

Just another example of making excuses for the Patriots. Will it ever end. lol Good thing they took Brady out before he gets killed. :neener:

Well I have never followed the Lions but they're looking pretty good tonight. Haven't they done pretty well in the preseason ? They may give their division a run for their money. I think I remember that they won all their preseason games last year then had a terrible season. Am I remembering right? Sorry for all the questions. lol

Yeah they're undefeated. If they can keep Stafford healthy then they will be tough to beat. I think they won all of their preseason games the year they lost every game in the regular season.

    • Our defense will never be GREAT as long as we play * defense by having corners 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 3. And an unbelievable unwillingness to blitz more than 4 times a game. And also, it doesn't matter who is in the secondary if the front seven can't stop the run(we can) and get to the passer(we did ok getting to the passer, but we need more blitzing from lb'ers). Our first pick should be an offensive lineman like Fuaga, Powers-Johnson, or Barton. Then target a receiver like Polk, Pearsall, Washington, Corley, or Roman Wilson in the second or third rounds. As much as I would like to get Bowers I just don't see it happening. And we need a very good linebacker to go along with Speed and Franklin.
    • Yeah, could very well be. I think I remember Ballard said he did it to have more flexibility when asked. if it is Paye, I would rather see him play out the year before extending.
    • The idea of DeJean going in the late first round is due to his instincts and overall very competent play in nearly all aspects of DB play.  Cover 3 FS is more valuable, IMO, than a cover 2 FS.   Contrast DeJean's overall RAS and talents with Hooker, who was only good at being a single high deep guy...especially his rookie year where he picked off bad QBs for a while...and DeJean at 22 or later with a 3rd round pick gathered from a trade down is a much better decision than Hooker was at 15.   BTW, Blackmon had the same ACL injury as Hooker and did well as an overall S as a rookie, but wasn't a single high speed guy, and is probably still a better overall S now than Hooker is in DAL...both having the exact same injury years ago.
    • To the bolded, I don't constantly hear that. I see people say it on the Internet. It was a big thing when we were looking for a HC, how candidates would be scared off because of how the Reich/Saturday thing went, Irsay's meddling, etc. One specific theory was Sirianni would tell Steichen not to take the Colts job. We see how that went.   Does Irsay's history negatively impact the team? I'd like to know if there's any examples where you think it has.
    • Some are not understanding this. Have a feeling there will be an upset group after Thursday night. Give AR every opportunity to succeed by surrounding him with weapons. If Pittman was to miss a few weeks, it would be bad. Tbh we should draft offense the 1st and 2nd rounds. Sign a Simmons and a vet corner.
