I bet we release reggie wayne and dwight freeney so we can bring in a running back. Because its not our line thats the problem is joe addai and donald brown. Maybe we'll release saturday too so we can grab up another WR.

You're kidding me,right? However,i would absolutely love to see Donald get fired! He's a real turd and a horrible person(i speak from experience with him).I've seen him refuse to sign autos for kids numerous times.

In your opinion, who will get cut?I think gonzo for certain. We will carry more D-linemen(maybe o-line too) this year,so i think he gets cut for the roster spot.

I don't think we'll cut Gonzo, first of all we need at least four WRs and Blair White is still on PUP and no other rookie WR has really impressed enough to stay on th roster. Also this is the last year of Gonzo's contract. If he doesn't work this season they will just let his contract run out at years end.

I think the surprise cut COULD be Donald Brown. He keeps not showing us more and one of the young kids, Evans or Spann impresses they might go with one of them Addai and Carter. Still I am not sure the Colts will give up on Brown this soon.

I am just going to guess this is someone's attempt at a joke...

Please dear god...FIRED DONALD BROWN!But we wasted such a high pick for him and we both know that wild bill doesn't like to admit to mistakes.

I'm not sure who will be cut at this point. I am aware the roster has to be shrunken down to 75 this week. I don't think Gonzo will be cut. It's his contract year, and he has plenty to play for (like his career). I would not mind us cutting Donald Brown, but I feel that we are going to give him one more chance because we spent such a high draft pick on him. I feel very strongly that he is gradually working himself down to the 3rd string RB position as Carter continues to impress me in the pre-season. It would not surprise me with our abundance of RBs this year that we cut Moore and give Gilreath a chance. We have other running backs, and Gilreath plays WR. Gilreath can also work on our PR/KR to replace Moore. With White still being on the PUP list, I feel depth on the WR front is more important to the organization than the RB position. That's the only "surprise" cut I could foresee at this moment in time.

Why fire Donald Brown when he's finally showing some ability. It makes 0 sense unless 1 of the undrafted RBs outperforms Brown, which they haven't done. If he doesn't contribute in a big way they probably just wont resign him. Same with Gonzo. Neither have trade value but they do have potential, so the smartest thing to do is keep them for now. The worst thing they could do is release them, there's no backup plan and its a waste.

Who does like to admit mistakes?

I can still see the arguement that if the line is problem it still hasn't been fixed to give a guy a chance which is why I do think Brown will get one more year. No one has torn it up in our ground game since Brown has been here. Now unless that changes over the next couple of weeks (namely Spann or Evans) I don't think Brown has much to worry about.

Cut Hughes and keep Chick. This will not happen because Hughes was a high draft pick.

He will get to flounder on the team for atleast 2 more seasons.

I wonder if brown, hughes or gonzo have any trade value.I would sure like to get something in return, even a stale sandwich would do~.

Hughes also played well vs. the Redskins. I wouldn't disagree that Chick might be a suprise keep if he's good at special teams.

I believe Donald is on a short leash but i dont think we cut him due to his high draft position as stated earlier by indy_nick. I think Moore is cut and Taj Smith or possibly Gilreath is kept to do KR/PR duties. As great as Evans has looked he will prob be put on the practice squad. Just a guess, either way having alot of talented RB's in your stable is a great problem to have.

Not sure if this would be a surprise, but Devin Moore. Simply because with the new KO rule a specialist is devalued.

Yeah I would hate to see that but Moore hasn't done punt returns and frankly that's more important than a good kick off return guy under the new system so I could see Moore being cut.

They would find some trade value in Brown before they cut him. I'm thinking they would get a 5th or 6th DP. Then again I don't really buy into Brown being THAT bad... yes his pass blocking is terrible but he can run, better than Addai IMO. If it wasn't for Addai's pass blocking skillz they would have never brought him back. Not to mention we don't have anyone better than him after Addai and Carter so by default he may be safe. Don't even say Evans or Spann are better because they aren't.

I could see Blair White, Gonzo, and Pollack as surprise cuts. Then again our WR core is a bit thin so maybe just one of the aforementioned gets the boot.

I started too look at the depth chart today and I think it might end up looking like this:

QB (3): Manning, Painter, third QB (could Orvlosky I would hope we sign a guy like Sorgi but with the questions about ManningI think we keep three)

RB (3): Addai, Brown, Carter

WR (6): Wayne, Garcon, Collie, Gonzo, Smith, White

TE (3): Clark, Tamme, Eldridge

OT (4): Castonzo, Diem, Ijalana, Link

OG (4): Reitz, Pollack, McClendon, Devan

C (2): Saturday, Richard

DE (5): Freeney, Mathis, Hughes, Chick, Anderson

DT (6): Johnson, Moala, Nevis, Foster, Mathews, Harris

LB (6): Sims, Brackett, Conner, Angerer, Wheeler, Glenn

CB (5): Powers, Lacey, Tryon, Thomas, Rucker

S (3): Bethea, Bullitt, Lefeged

K (1): Vinatieri

P (1): McAfee

LS (1): Snow

Returner (0): Lefeged (had him on the roster already at safety)

By my math that puts us at 53. I am not the best math person in the world so someone might want to double check that. I will also say I am still leaning towards guys who have been here for a while right now. The next two games could very well change my mind on some of the undrafted rookies.

For the most part I am in agreement with this, I believe Dan O will get a start in one of the next 2 preseason games. He might steal the number 2 qb role, the next 2 games will be telling like you stated.

I'd say it could be Tommie Harris, depending on the severity of his ailment. If he's going to remain injured into the season, and it's related to his past injuries, we may take our chances with Nevis and Johnson as our starters.

Gonzo will be on the roster. He's in the last year of his deal. If he doesn't work out, we just let him walk after this season. He already counts against our cap, so cutting him would be the same as paying him to leave.

Donald Brown? No way. We know how Polian has an inability to admit his draft mistakes... (Looking at you, mike pollak)We've got a bunch of guys showing better than Brown though, so at this point, I wouldn't be surprised, or opposed, to see us trade Brown. What could we get for him? I have no idea, but it's not going to be anywhere near the first rounder we spent on him... Maybe some mid/late round picks (where Polian is at his best, anyhow) or a decent corner or O-linemen... It's really hard to say what the market value would be for Brown. He has shown some flashes, but it's no secret our run game is sickly, to say the very least. Maybe we can get something out of him by passing his inefficiency here off on our poor run game. I'm positive al davis is easy to dupe...

I really don't see any surprising roster cuts coming...

I wouldn't say tommie harris would be a surprise. He really let me down thus far. He's lazy and seems content on just riddin' that huge bears payday.I would be thrilled to get a 3 rounder for d.brown!I would also like to kick j.hughes to the curb.

That's pretty bad to give up on a guy after one season. A lot of people are saying stuff about Hughes now they said after Moala his rookie year and after about three weeks Moala quickly shut people up. Hughes was drafted for the future. He drafted so we could let Mathis walk at the end of this season so if he makes progress this year he will do what we were hoping for when drafted him.

Hughes gets one more season... If he's inactive for 10 or more games this year, though, I don't know where we go from there... I highly doubt we'll move Brown, but that would get more out of him than we are...

I doubt, though, that other RB's being more effective than he will force a move. We had that when Chad Simpson was here, and still, nothing. Simpson is one of those anomaly players... Every time we put him in at RB, he did well. He ran hard, he ran fast, he ran smart. He made good gains, he was proficient at picking up blocks, and catching out of the backfield. Literally every time he played I found myself going "Hey, let's put Simpson in some more. He's showing much better than Brown." but we never really gave him much chance unless Addai or Brown was injured, and then we let him walk before last season.

If one of the rookie RB's shows better than Brown this season, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we simply go that route and ignore it again and keep trying to make something out of Brown...

Im only counting 52 on this roster. I don't think there is any way we keep Chick, he is not NFL material. I think Adrien Moten makes the LBer squad, Richard won't make it, Pollack can and will play center if need be. I believe Tyler Brayton will make it, not sure Foster will.

I hope Brown doesn't get cut. I could see him really having a big year if the line is much better.

No one can run if you are tackled right after you get the ball.

Yes his blocking is suspect, but that is something hopefully he has been working on.

I'd like to see us use his speed and get him out in the open field with some passes(maybe keeping Addai in the backfield to block)

Foster jus recieved a new deal with Antonio Johnson, details werent disclosed why would he be cut http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/colts_re_sign_antonio_johnson_eric_foster_and_others/5850442

That's because there was 52, I took White off IR to get back to 53.

Moten is a guy I am going to keep my eye on over the next two games. I tend to think the first 2 pre-season games gives me undrafted free agents to keep my eye on for the last two and Moten is one of those guys. Chick has played very well this pre-season but wouldn't shock me too much if he does get cut. I am not going ot cut Richard out just yet but again if I had to pick one lineman to go he would be the one. While Pollack can play center he is also our starting right guard at the moment. Richard has honestly done alright at center (his natural poistion) the few times he has played it. It could be the Colts drafted two centers in Pollack and Richard who just can't make the jump to guard. I don't like anything I have seen from Brayton. He was getting shoved all over the field vs. the Redskins. I don't think he is here to rush the passer but I just wasn't feeling it based on what I saw vs. the Skins. The next two games could very well change that though. Foster has played very well this pre-season and was getting a good push on Friday night. He is also really the only pass rushing DT on the roster at the moment other than Harris who even though I put on my final roster is anything but a sure bet to make the final roster.
