never a problem, KUDOS TO THE MODERATORS

u should hear this album on a breathtaking 5.1 audio system with either the suuround 5.1 hybrid SACD or the surround 5.1 DVD AUDIO ( no longer made & I am fortunate to have , with some nice visuals )

I Just cant believe what i spent to put in bedroom with what i have already in living room , but its better than falling off a coach just by shifting weight Plus with all moms issues, besides mine, and now having to hire wheel chair van for her Dr specialists and going to visit her in assisted living I hardly am free to use it

Thankfully still have her through & that's whats important

to the person who sent me an e-mail stating i was & shouldn't brag about my bedroom audio system & most likely spending much $ for just a bedroom when others need $ just for food , I understand but

consider

1. no vacation in a decade or 2 , most i travel is 15 minute drive, my farthest DR.

2 save for on computer & kitchen to eat I stay in bedroom basically when home , safest place for me so why not make it as enjoyable as possible

3. I can assure u I could go on with long list

I saw a video/documentary with Tom Petty and he said something about how if a song didn't sound good with just a piano or acoustic guitar that it wasn't that strong of a song.

Interesting test of a song, I enjoy Petty for years so will take his word for it

whenever I have a chance to be at a concert I find when a song, whether its the groups own or a famous Cover, when it comes on acoustically their is this collective " oooh Yes " from the audience as exclamatory approval

sometimes I'd pump fist one like a TD

I agree, it's different. I can't put my finger on it, but it's a bit more unique and thus makes it a bit more enjoyable.

I like quality live recordings/performances over studio albums personally anyway. The songs are usually different. Take Springsteen's song Glory Days. At times he tells a story before/during/after it, and I have 6-7 versions with various stories attached to it. I also have an acoustic version of it.

Live music can be at times faster paced, or slower, or a completely different take on the song all together.

I just enjoy it more than a studio album.

as a singer, I can tell you I feel that people listen more closely and intently to the acoustic versions. Keeps me on my toes on those particular songs.... now.... back on topic, what was the original topic? ;) :topic:

all so true, let the studio album tease u , but the concert takes u somewhere else, just wish I could go as much as before

Saw whats left of the grateful Dead this summer , was outstanding with high energy , I danced with my cane as best I could & yes some songs were played acousticly, in fact Bob Weir of the Dead is doing an entire solo acoustic concert tour , just not near me

Yes Barry, I am glad that your mother is still with you too. She took care of you when you were young, vulnerable, and needed care and now you are tending after her when she needs help and assistance too. You are a good man, an honorable man, and a fine son. And yes, the Eagles are a fantastic band to hear live no question. Great to hear from you buddy!!!

 now I miss Dallas even more

Actually Dallas is back - looking even more ridiculous than the first time around.

I've been trying to avoid thinking about it, but the advertisements keep popping up during Perception.

Wait, what were we talking about again? The latest fall fashions are up next I think. :P

Well, Dallas is in the south, and Peyton likes the south, so........................

Anyhoo, I thought the article was unusual enough that I checked out the writer - Ryan McGee. The question being how would somebody come up with a fresh perspective about a topic that's been "done" so many many times before. Turns out that he is a generalist, but does a lot of NASCAR stuff. More a tv producer than a writer. Interesting. I'm curious whether he was assigned the task or gets to pick his topics like an editorial style sports writer. It probably takes someone with an outside perspective to do the work necessary to come up with a better take.
