  1. How about this...

Drafting a RB and having him turn into a donald brown

Drafting a WR and having him turn into a sean dawkins

Drafting a DE and having him turn into a jerry hughes/vincent burns

Drafting a CB and having him turn into a joseph jefferson

Drafting a DT and having him turn into a quinn pitcock

Drafting Luck and getting Leaf. That would be poetic justice in the eyes of most Bolts fans.

  2. I was just thinking about how much hype there is around Andrew Luck. He is a good QB but like others on here have said, there are some other good QBs in this draft. Lets say a team who does not have a franchise QB on their roster gets the 1st overall pick and takes a QB other than Luck. Would you, or would you not, consider this a bigger surprise than when the colts took Manning instead of Leaf?

You mean that choice was a surprise to the Colts Fans? Well karma being what it is it the Colts to get Ryan Leafed.

  3. Steelers and Bucs will steamroll us. no question.

but how bad will KC beat us? just by a TD? a field goal? Mc Cluster and Jones are gonna have alot of fun with our D line.

as terrible as KC is, I say there is virtually no shot at winning even that game. we are #1 pick-bound fo sho, but I am kind of excited about that.

Next season is gonna be fantastic with Peyton back and dope draft pick.

There are currently six teams that are 0-2, barring a tie tonight there will be seven win less teams after the first two weeks. I have been to a couple of Chiefs boards where the fans are talking about going 0-16 and winning the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. It will be interesting to see which team actually tanks when the Chiefs and Colts meet and that might be the case at boards of other win less teams. Remember that the players have pride and none of them will purposely will lay down so the team will get a number one draft pick next year.

I wonder if the win less teams will make it so obvious that they are tanking, if so you will likely see a lottery for the first draft pick as in the NBA.

  4. Hey bavanlan....welcome back to the Forum.

Since we're on the subject of Andrew Luck....maybe in the coming days you can share your salary cap expertise i.e. the new rookie cap and the eventually possibility of having him AND Peyton on the roster.

I'm not dooming us to the #1 pick just yet, but if we DO wind up there...somebody is gonna get paid in the neighborhood of 22-25 mil.

Whatever else you can share about salary cap scenarios and other veterans we have would also be appreciated.

With the new CBA, it won't come any where near that.

  5. I know a lot of you are bashing people who want Luck because it serves no immediate help to this team. However, I havent heard anyone talk about the possibility of trading Manning after the 2012 season, thus giving Luck a year to learn under Peyton and I do believe Luck would be a good QB when he would start for us in 2013.

Would the Colts fan base have stood still for that? Very unlikely. In hindsight I wish that the Bolts would have traded away LT and kept Micheal Turner, but at the time I would have joined the lynch mob if the Bolts leadership had done such a thing.

  6. Hey Peyton get well soon, the prospect of making the playoffs are a bit less exciting if the Colts are not there. Beating the Colts in the playoffs is made all the more precious because of the reaction of the Colts fans for losing to a team which they believe is vastly inferior to the Colts. They get so mad, like children when they finally accept that Santa was a scam all their lives and that they bought into it because their parents would never lie to them.

  7. Seyi Ajirotutu from San Diego looks intriguing ..he was being developed as a deep threat and is a 6'3 WR who was part of a numbers game (they're surprisingly spoilt at WR) and supposedly had a good camp that simply didn't translate into pre-season games

The Panthers claimed him on Sunday. You guys have to move very fast when final cuts are made.

  8. I don't want him to, but you do present a valid point in stating that the Colts have him essentially do the same thing near the end of seasons when the Colts have already locked up a playoff spot - different circumstances, but it's the same result (meaningless snap to preserve the streak).

After a playoff spot is secured I would expect him to play the opening drive, just to stay sharp, but if all he does is to go out and just take one snap to continue the streak, that would be wrong.

  9. Conclusion: I'm glad we got rid of this nut case. I don't really think this guy knows what he wants out of football anymore. He's letting his emotions cloud his sense of security. My guess is he lasts no more than six games, and that's a generous estimate. I admire the enthusiasm in practice, but he needs to calm down. Save it for the regular season, Hercules.

Let it go, this anger is not doing you good.

  10. We need a decent backup anybody culepepper what you guys think?

Culpepper has not played since 2009, that would be a project to get him playing again. Your best hope is to pray very hard for Peyton's health. But if you can lure Dante out of retirement go for it. He would give the Colts the veteran QB you need for a back up if he is serviceable.
  11. Watch him stay healthy all season and it come back to bite us in the a** in the playoffs. That's a big IF...him staying healthy, and the Chargers not imploding again and missing the playoffs, especially losing Rivera.

OK sounds good to me, I will enjoy that and no way do the Bolts miss the playoffs again this year.
