That’s fine but someone will have to go to make room for him.  Wilson makes sense.

Mathew Adams, Ej Speed. There are plenty of other players you could put on the PS instead of cutting. Especially if you’re bringing someone up. The move doesn’t make since if they are just cutting him. There is definitely something else going on.

    Seriously?

The coaching staff did know he had an ankle issue a few weeks ago.

from Ebrons post he said he’s been dealing with the injury before the season started. There is some discrepancy with the information that is currently being shared, it’s sorta all over the place.

I would love to know what the heck was goin on back there tonight?

    1. How the hell does their best WR get wide open in the end zone?

    2. Was there to be some safety help over top on the big plays down the field?

I know we missed Willis and Rock but we got back the top guy and had Hooker back there. He looked confused tonight tho. Kenny Moore seemed to have a good game.

On the Hopkins TD, it was a blown assignment on Hooker and terrible communication in the secondary. Desir passed Hopkins off , with the expectation that Hooker would take over but Hooker instead did not which led to Hopkins being completely wide open in the end zone.

Nahhh... We held them to under 100 rushing, and held Watson (at home) to less yards than the first game. We also INT'd him. Could they have been better, sure, but we held them to 20pts in their own house. This was clearly an O fail. I do agree Flus should have dialed up more pressure, but we lost because of the O gameplan.

we held them to 99 yards rushing 1 yard shy of 100. Watson threw for 298 and 2  TDs , just 2 yards shy of 300. Idk what you consider to be a good defensive game but that was just not it. I will agree the Offense could have done better. But they did enough to put 17 on the board. The defense played extremely awful.

    Law of averages caught up....

Offensive game plan was the biggest culprit...  With a team that is bottom five in both passing D and total QB pressure, what do we do.. With a team who is missing arguably their best DB and many more DBs hobbled, what do we do.... It's more what we don't do.

    Throw the damn ball.

Is it just ego from Reich, or distrust in Brissett? We had plenty of misses on open pass catchers. Doyle several times was wide stinking open. The announcers commented on a few guys running free down the sideline, one late when JB ran and failed to convert.

Someone laughed at me when I said I fear Fuller more than Hopkins (during the first match up). Luckily Fuller went out injured early that game. He sure made an impact tonight... You know who you are lol...

Very good possibility this costs us the post season.... It never should have been close.

I’m putting this one on the Defense. The defensive play calling was absolutely terrible, they really sent three at Watson and expected to generate pressure. We allowed Watson to pick us apart. Too many defensive assignments blown, just an overall poor gameplay defensively and they didn’t adjust the second half. Their should have been more blitz’s being sent at Watson. Especially given the fact that you have a rookie in Tell who runs a 4.57 one on one with Fuller who runs a 4.3. They allowed Watson to sit their and let routes develop, instead of harassing him.

They played well today. Most of Foles yardage was in garbage time today. Let’s hope these two continue to get better. I still think the Colts need another DB, but solid effort from both and K. Moore against the Jags.

Once they both learn to turn their heads and locate the ball. That will elevate their game to the next level.

Bullcrap!  All kinds of young backup QBs have played this year and done well, and Kelly has as good or better credentials than most (all) of them.

As good or better credentials than whom? And on what merit? You have to provide substantial evidence to prove that claim. Compare his Collegiate production to some of those guys and the stats aren’t the same.

If Hoyer either starts a game, or has to play significant minutes, the Colts will lose this game. Hoyer is a bad, turnover prone, never very good NFL QB. Why even take the chance of having to play him? Ballard should cut Hoyer and find another backup QB. Chad Kelly or someone else would give the Colts a better chance of winning if they must play.

He hasn’t been cut because they need a veteran QB lol. I don’t know think they have much trust in Chad Kelly to command those offense against a starting NFL defense. He did well against a bunch of back ups in the pre-season but that doesn’t necessarily translate over to the regular season.

Just looked up Willis's combine profile. Willis clocked in at 4.52.

Here's what they had to say about speed/burst.

I like Willis, but think the above is pretty accurate. He's smarter than fast (nose for the ball) and puts himself in good position, is good in short/intermediate coverage (TEs etc), but struggles deeper. Not saying he's bad, just being realistic. He's definitely an upgrade, at least on most downs.

Yea that’s what his combine profile states but when the scouts took him through position drills and had him run his 40 at pro day their numbers tell a different story. And anyone can tell you a 40 yard dash is all about technique. Track speed doesn’t necessarily translate to “On the Field Speed” but I found the article and verbatim this is what the scouts said on Willis. If you’re curious to read the entire article it’s on Colts.com and titled “Through the Scouts Eye”

“So, you see him not only playing in the box, but I mean, he's played free safety. He plays nickel. He's played on the slot and he did a pretty good job with that. I think he's faster than a lot of people and a lot of people give him credit for it and he tested pretty well that way. I think he ran in the 4.4s, and he's a very well-rounded player. I was always taught a long time ago slow safety usually get your beat, dumb safeties always get your beat. He's the polar opposite of both. So, we're really excited about him.”

I don't see Willis as having great speed. I actually see him as more of a box safety to be honest. Not that I think Geathers is a great S at all, but I see Willis as pretty limited too.

Willis has great speed and it shows on tape he closes really fast. I remember reading an article on all of the rookies and the scouts timed him with 4.4 speed. I think Geathers is somewhere around the 4.6 mark. From what I’ve seen so far and what they state he excels at, as far as cover goes he beats Geathers in that category and he’s as sure of a tackler as it gets.

I think he's (Willis) more disruptive vs the run, but he's not great in coverage and really not a single-high capable guy. He's got a really good nose for the ball though. Geathers is rangier but inconsistent... I'd probably play him more than Willis vs pass heavy teams though. Both are different body types, and different types of players. Neither are really 3 down Ss IMO.

I’m gonna have to disagree, Willis is far better in coverage than Geathers is and faster so he closes quicker. I’d definitely put Willis in a single high look over Geathers. Geathers has always been a liability in coverage. He’s simply a box safety.

Mr. Ebron has been robbed twice this year! Ive never seen anything like it. Not only has he been robbed of two obvious touchdown passes he might be robbed of a massive payday this FA period.

IMO he’s the only one to blame for his own shortcomings.

    1) A Pass Rusher- Could have gotten someone not top shelf but someone for maybe a 4th rounder....did nothing

    2) A WR-could have gotten someone for a 2nd to a 5th depending on whom. Would have loved AJ Green for a 3 or 4...did nothing

    3) A stud OL to replace Glowinski and move Braden Smith back inside, for a 4th to 5th...did nothing

They did ZERO and it cost them. I get Ballard wants to build through the draft, so do I, but damn,  either fixing 2 or 3 here and we win that game.

Who exactly could we have acquired that would have been a difference maker with the picks you suggested ?

Many fans were not worried about the Raiders or the Steelers either.   Also the Broncos.  The Colts play close games which means they are at risk of losing every game.

is there a possibility? Absolutely, there’s always a possibility on any given Sunday. I just think they have something extra to prove this week and are motivated to come away victorious.

This is not a negative post i'm just really worried this game. Especially with AV not sure about him anymore. Also TY being out Along with Campbell and Desir possibly being out as well as Kelly it's just a big mess. I hope Hoyer plays if JB isn't ready to go sigh i guess that would probably be the only bright spot.

It’s the Dolphins, I wouldn’t worry too much.

No one like the thought of booing one of the greatest kickers of all time, and after the Andrew Luck incident the media will be all over it if the fans do.  However, booing is one way the fan base can directly let management know they are not satisfied with decisions being made, whether that be bad calls (coaching or ref), leaving a player on the field that doesn't deserve to be, general ineptitude of franchise, etc.  In Andrews case it think it was shock mixed with the let down of the expectations that we had for the next 5 -7 years.

In Vinny's case it will have more to do with the coaches and GM, who preach competition, to make no moves on getting it corrected.  Vinny has been on a slide for a couple of years now and while one of the greatest of all time, is no longer even close to the greatest at this time.  I feel bad for Vinny and the coaches because they are trying to take the high road, but the fans expect results (the NFL is a meritocracy after all).  I just have a feeling this is going to turn into another booing incident before the year is over.

How many lost games due to kicking is sufficient because Vinny was amazing for most of his career?  Does anyone really think he is still a clutch kicker?  If so, I have some swamp land in Florida to sell that will make you rich.

I mean I get it as a fan, but IMO its very classless and distasteful. Especially given everything that Vinny has done for the organization.
