Eason and Fromm SHOULD BE 3rd rounders at best, but both may go in the second. A good later round project QB will be Patterson from Michigan. Hurts from OU looks like a great 4th round project..

Hurts will probably go undrafted or at the earliest a late day 3 pick. In my opinion he wouldn't even be at the bottom of my list. The LJ-type QB's are something I'm not interested in nor do I believe is sustainable and Hurts is a lesser version of him.

Patterson I'd be interested in later on. I think the talent is there and is workable.

They will if they get down early like we did. That's the point.

If they come out with the gameplan that the Colts did last year, sure, but as I've said I HIGHLY doubt that happens. KC better hope for great weather..

I saw this movie last year when KC beat the heck out of the Colts (we had the better running game the 2nd half of the year by far), and everyone blamed the weather.

The same one where they went into KC, in cruddy weather, with Luck throwing all over the field instead of relying on what got them there? Same as the Peyton years? That movie...? I don't see Tennessee doing that..

nah... TN has a bottom 10 pass D. Mahomes is humming now.

Henry might have a very good game, but unless TN's pass D doesn't something out of character, Mahomes will get his.

Tennessee has already beat them once this year, while Mahomes had the game of his life, but this time it won't be sunny and 70. I'll take the balanced/great running team over the great passing team in January every time. You're a Colts fan, you've seen this movie too many times and know the outcome..

Titans don't really have the pass D to stop Mahomes though... A good running game only works when you can stop the other guys.

Tennessee will literally run KC in the ground like the Colts did. Sure Mahomes will make some plays, but it will be heavily limited.

I realize there's a segment of the Colts fanbase and the general media who've fallen hard for Jordan Love but he wasn't even the best QB in the state of Utah. By potential or metrics or eyeball test. Not even close. Ballard knows that, bet on it.

Burrow's going to be gone, and if a deal can't be made for Tua, don't be surprised to see a 3rd or 4th round QB come in to learn behind Brissett like Mahomes did behind Alex Smith. Depending on how it all falls, I'd expect the Colts to go pass rush and/or wideout in round 1, and 2.

By all means, tell the WHOLE story on him, this year, and why he wasn't the best QB. And while you're at it, explain why he was the best QB in Utah last year. His story is bigger than just this 2019. Love will still go, at a minimum, 2 rounds higher than Huntley will..

That is the very reason I have some of the WRS on the list. Look at some of the measurables. They are big bodied receivers with good hands and speed.

Michael Pittman Jr- 6’4”- 220 lbs

    Jauan Jennings- 6’3”- 207 lbs

    Antonio Gandy-Golden- 6’4”- 220 lbs

    Chase Claypool- 6’4”- 229 lbs

Jared Pinkney- TE- 6’4”- 260 lbs

also on the QB front who I would want is in this group.

    Like- Jalen Hurts

He is a 3 year starter, captain, 3 years leading a team to the CFP.

    Interested- Jordon Love

So much talent, so raw. Interested to see and hear more from him. Decision making is my biggest question mark.

    Love- Anthony Gordon

Quick release. Super productive. Great throwing motion. Confident.

Why would you want a guy who is a significant downgrade to what we have.

I wonder what it would take for Miami to part with Rosen.   I'm not high on the guy, but I'm not ready to throw him on the scrap heap either.   He was considered the best QB in the draft at one time and it's only been 2 years on 2 bad teams.   Surely he has been humbled a bit.

Wait until sometime between the new league year and June 1st when they cut him. However, the rumblings about him in the locker room, and his entitled personality makes me pretty comfortable to believe he's not a Ballard type of guy. I've personally never been a fan nor impressed with him while he was at UCLA.

Couldn't edit my post but wanted to make this point.

Tua has three WRs: Jeudy, Ruggs, and DaVontae Smith (going back to bama) who would/will probably all be top 60 picks this spring.  All three on the same team.  That may be unprecedented in the history of college football teams.  IIRC Calvin Ridley went pretty high a few seasons ago.

Contrast that with UGA, who has none, and to my knowledge, has not had a successful WR drafted since Julio Jones.  Their RBs get drafted high, Chubb, Michel, Gurley; but not their receivers.

Certainly this isn't an equalizer, but my goodness, its such a huge disparity that it must be accounted for in some way.

    A) Georgia has the same high 4 and 5 star guys at the skill positions that Alabama has.

    B) Julio Jones went Alabama, AJ Green went to Georgia

    C) The common denominator is the QB. One is just flat out better than the other (Tua>Fromm). The playcalling for Tua, allows for the WR play to be that much better compared to the limited/conservative approach with Fromm.

I will say George Pickens will be, at the minimum, a top 15-20 pick in 2 years. That kid is going to be every bit as good, if not better, than the top guys coming out this year. Hopefully he gets better QB play than Fromm the next couple of years.

The way that you replied and called him Alex Smith 2.0, begs to differ... either way, even with Alex Smith in his prime, i would be happy... he was a great QB for the Chiefs, he just had to play all of the great QBs of that era (Peyton, Brady, Rivers, Brees etc)

Much like the 90s Pacers had to play MJ  in his prime...the 97, 98 and 99 Pacers couldve all won a ring, but they just couldnt get past MJ... Similar to Alex Smith in KC

Yea, I wouldn't be, and I don't think many around here would be either.

  11. 1 hour ago, DougDew said:

    That really doesn't say anything.

Where does that analysis come from?

What I just quoted basically said that Fromm has more elite accuracy that Tua, and Tua also does not have a strong arm and not many down the field attempts.  Tua has an injury history, Fromm does not.  Fromm has as much command of an offense and leadership as probably any QB probably coming out.  They both benefited from great personnel around them

Just trying to break in down into what area(s) Tua is supposedly so much better at than Fromm as to deserve pick #3 consideration where as Fromm round 3 in some circles.

Here are the passing charts from 2018. They make it more fair for Fromm, because Tua was on pace to be even better this year and Jake regressed. I'll let you make up your own mind from what you see....

CLEARLY one can push the ball up the field and is accurate doing it. The other is great up to around 10 yards and then progressively drops off the further down field he goes. Tua is just as good going to either side of the field whereas Fromm has issues going to his weakside of the field.

Young qbs fail if u don't build around them.  Dungy said years ago that exact thing.  U need the pieces so it doesn't put to much pressure on them.  Continue to build the D.  Add some play makers. Now give Brissett another year and let's see  these guys develop.  If Brissett sucks, then draft a guy in 2021 as he is coming to a talented team. Just my thought.

So who do you have pegged for 2021 if  JB bombs, excluding Fields and Lawrence?

Or maybe teams just fall in love with another player's "potential" to be better... as in Fromm will be a franchise QB with a very high floor but probably not as high of a ceiling...but someone like Love or Tua may have a much higher ceiling, that gets a team really interested in POTENTIAL...but they could also become another bust drafted for their high ceiling, while Fromm has a 15 year career as a good quality starting QB

Cool... but I wasn't talking about the teams view. Who I quoted was referring to why Fromm is lower on draft analysts boards..

Did you watch him last year play one of the best bama teams of all time and smoked their defense?

Haha.. that Bama defense wasn't good. Fromm even went off on them in the SEC title game, which is bad enough in itself. Not to take away from TL, but it's not surprising what Lawrence and Clemson did to Bama.

The kid is good, and I would definitely run the card to the podium for him, but if Fields keep developing, and he has his flaws right now, but I can see him being at the least as good as Lawrence in the coming year.

    based on what?

i've watched him play. I don't know if his arm is strong enough. We'll get a better idea of that at the combine and in workouts.

but he plays like a GOOD pro qb. sees the field, works through progressions fast and doesn't panic.

I've watched him a ton as well and seriously wonder if people actually watched him, not just highlights, when bringing his name up. His passing mechanics need help, as he tends to throw off his back foot a lot. People rave about his completion %, BUT he was literally under 50% the last 5 weeks of the season in an offense that doesn't ask him to take many risks. Woohoo he had a great game against Baylor.. Also, his completion % against the better teams in conference and top25 overall take a significant dip, which I find unacceptable for a guy surrounded by 5 star talent on the OL and skill slots, and again, a HIGH % of his throws are fringe intermediate and shorter. Kirby leaned more on DeAndre Swift and the running game than Fromm, and that tells me all I need to know. As I've stated multiple times on this subject, if Justin Fields were still there they don't lose to SC and I guarantee they don't get blown out by LSU.

In all honesty, I'd think about him in the 3rd at the earliest, but no way before then.

So lwt me get get this straight.  We are okay with treading for a qb that lead hos team to a 7 and 9 record.  Color me confuse.  Carr had one good year....signed a big contract and  has done nothing since. I just want to draft a qb.  One that Reich wants.  I like Fromm out of everyone.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes.  Shoukd have reviewed before sending

I want to know what your definition of "good" is. I'd take these four seasons by a QB every Sunday for the Colts.

And I'd rather watch McAfee QB before Fromm..
