  1. Some corrections: Game 2 was a win (would have been 21-17 instead of 19-17) Game 8 was a win as another posted stated (score would have been 16-13 as we would have run out the clock) - Jacoby's incredible throw to TY from the end zone would have iced the game. Game 10 could have been tied 16-16 at regulation as we were in the Dolphin red zone on 4th down and would have attempted a game tying FG. OT may or may not have resulted in a win. Game 13 could have been a 26-24 Indy win as the blocked FG TD by Tenn never would have happened. However, making both 50+ FGs in the 1st half would have been a tall order. The swing games would have been Chargers, Steelers, and Titans (10-5 going into Jax or 11-4 if we beat Mia in OT). Even with JB's lack of production, it looks as though we would be headed for the playoffs if Chase had been our opening day kicker.
  2. This. ^ Furthermore, when Luck retired in August, if someone told us we would end up going 10-6 and not lose any games by more than 7 points, I think we would be thrilled. We quickly forget how often this team was blown out during the Pagano/Grigson era. The truth is that the fan base is going through withdrawal pains. The addiction was having an elite QB for 20 years. It got us one Super Bowl title. Einstein stated that insanity was born from doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. Lofty offensive stats by Colt players won many fantasy leagues, but they didn't lead to sustained success in the post season. Ballard and Reich are building this team the right way - we just have to get used to having a complete team for a change instead of expecting an elite QB to carry the team. With the toxic atmosphere on this forum, there has been a sharp drop in insightful posts and I haven't posted as much. I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to break down your projections on teams in the playoff hunt. It was appreciated.
  3. If we are 8-4 and Hou is 6-6 and we beat Tampa to go 9-4, then Hou still needs to lose one more game for us to clinch because Hou could win its last 4 to go 10-6 and we could lose the last 3 to go 9-7. If we win at Hou and Tenn takes care of Jax, then the AFC South title essentially becomes a two team race between the Colts & Titans. Tenn & Hou haven't even played each other yet so whoever can sweep that series will still have an outside shot of getting the 2nd wild card spot.
  4. I'm not in favor of an 18 game season, but if you are going to do it, then at least keep the schedule balanced. Similar to divisional opponents, do both home and away games against the opponents that were determined by your finish within the division. This would account for the two additional games. For example, an 18 game season in 2019 would have the Colts playing the Dolphins and Steelers twice just like divisional games.
