  1. If we're talking about making a trade for a QB...how 'bout Matt Flynn from the Green Bay Packers. He looked tremendous against the Pats last year, and looks pretty good in the preseason. Thoughts?

Too expensive. The Colts would have to give up at least a third round pick, maybe even a second, to get him. No way Polian makes a trade like that if Manning would be ready to go in Week 2 or so. If Manning were to miss the first six games, if he's on the PUP still, then yes by all means trade for Flynn.

  2. I don't know about the rest of you. But the thought of Andy Dalton or Colin Kaepernick as our future didn't appeal to be much. The only QB I liked in this draft was Mallett, but with his issues you knew the Colts wouldn't take him. Mistake? No. Not yet anyways.

  3. He needs to have a "come to Jesus" talk about the Jets timeout. I didn't mind the Jags timeout that much. We had time to make plays, and didn't execute very well. Against the Jets, there's no reason to be worrying about getting the ball back. There was less than a minute left on the clock, and they were still on the outside fringes of field goal range. Both were overblown, I think, but in that situation I don't like the decision to call a timeout.

I'll agree about the Jags timeout. He called it just before 3rd down too correct? One stop and the Colts would have had the ball back. Let's not forget Hayden dropping a sure pick six later on that Jaguars drive. I will disagree about the Jets timeout, though. I don't want to get into all that, though. I feel that was a horrible decision, you are right about the Jags one though.

  4. Given that Reggie was drafted in 2001 and this activity reportedly started in 2002, it should come as no surprise that Reggie isn't on the list.

As an unapologetic Ohio State fan, I hope this shuts up the few knucklehead Miami fans who have been saying that the Buckeyes should have to vacate the '02 national championship due to the issues with the Ohio State program.

I was just gonna say that. However, that of course doesn't mean he didn't receive benefits, it just means he didn't from this guy. I doubt he did though.

  5. Alright guys I'm looking to start up a fantasy league consisting of Colts fans from the forum. If you're on here from another team you are more than welcome to join as well! It's on ESPN, all the basic scoring and player amounts for the league, I didn't change anything. It's a 12 team league so I need 11 people right now. Only ask to join if you are serious about playing, I don't want people quitting halfway through the year. The draft is set for Thursday at 8 ET. Email benlamers1221@gmail.com if you are interested and I'll send you an invite.

  6. I can't think of 1 paper champion that actually became champion. Just because ESPN and NFL Net cant shut up about the Pats "sexy" signings doesn't mean its going to improve their team that much. Hayneshisway is washed up and Eight Five isn't really a #1 receiver (still good though)

I would argue that the Packers were "paper champions" and "real champions". Around Week 3 of last year's pre-season it was going to be either them or the Cowboys hoisting the Lombardi.

  7. I'm probably in the minority here, but from what was shown of Sorgi in actual games and the preseason, I thought he was an excellent backup as a game manager. He wasn't a dynamic QB or the most gifted guy, but he didn't make many mistakes and could handle pressure. He got the ball to where it needed to be and moved the offensive efficiently. He probably wasn't going to be a 10 win backup, but I think he is/was better than people think.

But I agree about the running game.

I'm gonna agree that Sorgi was pretty good, he is a free agent right now by the way. However, despite the fact that I don't like Painter I think he has been unfairly criticized to a degree. Is he a good player? Not really. But he was thrown into the worst possible position he could have been back in 2009. I think if that doesn't happen we, the fans, don't hate on him as much, we still would. Keep in mind, though, he could be good someday. I live in Wisconsin so I got to watch four years of Aaron Rodgers sitting behind Brett Favre and let me tell you Aaron Rodgers was terrible his first few years. There were people who thought he shouldn't be on the team, I kid you not. Truthfully, he was pretty bad in his first two years or so. Maybe Painter just needs time to grow?
