You would think with his job on the line he might change his philosophy. Apparently, not as we watch the colts sit on their hands again.
Who says his job is on the line? Some fan on the message board who is frustrated that Ballard hasn’t done what they wanted? Sorry that doesn’t count. Irsay is the only one who gets a vote on that and he’s done nothing to say Ballard’s job is on the line this season. Further more, Irsay is involved with how the team is run, Ballard has said they have stayed in contact while Irsay has been in the hospital so he’s probably signed off on whatever Ballard’s plan is.

Either getting paid by colts or some team.
With all due respect to the Heavenly Father Mr Lewis needs to take some credit here. He’s earned that extension with how he’s played on back-to-back one year deals.

I think I heard Glowinski was released by the Giants a while back…What about bringing him back? He was solid here a couple years ago!
No need Fries was good last season despite what some think. He wasn’t perfect but neither was Glow.

Not surprising. Solid player who is never going to be a star but helps round out your roster. You need players like that. Glad he’s back.

Would you guys want Sam Darnold as a backup QB? He played well for SF.
I am wondering if it’s just Sam Ehlinger. They have been grooming him for that role and it’s kinda do it or don’t do it at this point.

Local media also doesn’t really have access to agents ect either. They usually only have a direct line to the colts so their inside info is usually not as great as national guys or other insiders.
Depends on the agent. They know some better than others, like Chap is good friends with Peyton’s agent for example. Still there are hundreds of agents and one team so yeah they aren’t going to know them all like the team.

I guess I could have explained that better. When he hears they are interested he says it’s hard to determine if it was because of one phone call. Or are they interested in him at a certain price ect. He said it’s hard to determine how bad they want someone.
Yeah, like I said it’s the level of what they are in on him. There is a wide range there it could be.

How could that mean a lot of things?
Probably covering his backside because for starters it’s lying season and doesn’t know exactly how much the Colts are in on him. Do they really want him bad or did they just call and say hey what’s your asking price and moved on or anywhere in between.

Meh... Okereke is a better player. Raw stats mean very little, especially in different systems.
Human nature is take for granted what you have and over value what you don’t have. Franklin is a very good tackler and is very good at run defense behind Stewartt and Buckner so fans don’t value that because they have it. What Franklin is not good at is pass defense and none of the Colts linebackers are so fans want a guy who can do that which Okereke could.
Still if the Colts lost Franklin and the new guy wasn’t as good as he is at tackling fans would complain about letting Franklin getting away because of how good he was at tackling and oh yeah the pass defense is still an issue at the linebacker spot.
the good news is Franklin’s contract lets you keep your very solid run defender and let’s you still get a pass defending linebacker. There is room for both, especially if one is on a rookie contract. The Colts have a linebacker hole with Leonard being released. I’d expect them to use that spot to try to find a guy who is good at pass defense while still keeping Franklin.
Again all 22 starters can’t be all pros and can’t be great at everything even if you would like them to be.

That 3 year $110 mil. average is higher than the Chris Jones 5 year $160 mil. average, it is just the way it goes.
Yep. If you pay you get the player.

That same guy reported on Pittman being close.
Yeah and several other real media outlets also reported Pittman being close long before this guy and have said nothing about Moore. Again, I suggest taking his report with a grain of salt but if you want to take it as unquestionable fact because it’s what you want to hear knock yourself out.
-
Franklin is far from a perfect linebacker but he’s a NFL starter level linebacker. This contract reflects that. Good to keep a leader in house and a solid tackler. Not all 22 starters can be all pros.

I thought we were close on Moore like we were with Pittman. If so it should be today I would think.
Well that was a report from a so called insider on twitter. Always take those reports with a grain of salt rather than unquestionable fact. Not saying they can’t get something done with Moore though.

Great points but he is threatening to sit out and not play at all. Tags are strange to gauge.
So was Taylor. I think this ultimately a negation tactic by Higgins.

Mike Garafulo reported this morning colts are open to keeping Moss but he will have a market.
I am guessing the Colts remaining free agents are going to be aloud to test the market at this point.

Well seeing as they can get two firsts if the signs with another team they aren’t going to be interested in a second and a WR who has done next to nothing in his NFL career no matter how much Colts fans say it was the QB, especially if they aren’t interested in trading him. Think the Colts last year when Taylor requested a trade. They weren’t just going to give him away because they wanted to keep him.
