Yep and Chap knows that, there’s a reason he’s lasted since the team got here covering the franchise. I think that might be what Destin, who by the way I like learns from this, make sure you have things completely nailed down and have the full story confirmed before reporting it, if Destin is wrong. I am not saying he is but as of now, 8:42 on a Saturday night, he hasn’t been proven right.

I go to chap for my local Colts news. He’s not always the fastest but he always right and doesn’t throw in his two cents or on the rare occasion he does he makes it beyond clear it just his two cents.

Someone else tweeted earlier today that Holder was being used by the Colts because the deal was completely finished yet and Chloe is taking that as fact.

It would help if people stopped posting EVERY free agent signing or trade even if not Colts related in this thread. It is what it is though.

He didn’t say they were finishing up the contract he said they were ironing out the trade. He later said himself he didn’t have anything confirmed on the contact. I know you like Destin but you are going way over the top to defend him when he hasn’t been proven right yet and the guy you claimed had been all over this from the start, despite nothing having happened to prove what he was saying was right, disabled his Twitter account. Maybe just back off and do what destin himself said he was going to do and let it play out before defending him to the death.

Because once again you missed the point of me saying he didn’t confirm EVERYTHING which includes the contact. That’s what you do when you break major story like this.

Read the second tweet I posted where he literally says he hasn’t gotten any confirmation on the extension. That’s why I said you have to confirm everything.

Yeah I saw it earlier. I trust Chappell above everyone else and for what it’s worth note he just reported what he’s been told and not his personal opinion like Holder added today. I think that’s part of why people trust Chappell so much. He’s a true beat reporter. He just says what he’s been told.

Destin might be about to learn a very valuable lesson always always always confirm and double confirm all aspects of a major story before reporting it. I know Holder took a lot of heat today because he wasn’t saying what people wanted to hear but the way things are going it’s looking like he was correct.

JMV very much broke the Peyton Manning neck story and was attacked like Holder is today. Also if local media never breaks stories why are we listening to Destin or Holder?

And to be clear I am not including Destin when I say twitter insiders. Destin has proven himself to be above that. I think he’s a legit and upcoming reporter trying to make his way in today’s world.

This is why real reporters get things nailed down before they report it. Yes it takes longer but it’s more accurate. All it takes is being massively wrong like one side is going to be on this and your creditably is shot. However, if you don’t have any because you are just someone on twitter trying to make people think you are one you shoot your shot and hope you get lucky. Anyone remember the guy who was swearing up and down Baker would be a Colt within 24 hours during the whole Matt Ryan off-season? When was the last time someone went to him for news?

Yeah, I think people know my thoughts on twitter insiders but if they are right wonderful I’ll be happy the deal got done. If it doesn’t oh well the sun will rise tomorrow and hopefully it will serve as reminder to be careful about how you believe this time of year.

The LAST thing I worry about with Ballard is him handing out a bad deal. If the deal that Sneed wants is too bad for the Colts he will walk away and figure out a plan B.
