  1. I agree! He wanted that to be a "non flag" sooooo bad you could hear it! The dude pulled a typical Bronco move. They play really dirty and they got caught several times tonight.... OH like rolling on our Center and stepping on his calf putting him out of the game? Had they played clean they may have had a better chance... but they got what they deserved....

  2. Just got back home and had a great day at LOS.

First off Andrew Luck was more comfortable and in control more than he was last year as a rookie. He went through his reads and checked down when he needed to Ballard. Didnt try to force feed the ball to anyone. A+ for him. He hit Reggie midstride for about 65 yards right in his hands. Beautiful long ball.

DHB has very good hands (unlike what we all have been hearing here) and made alot of very good catches in traffic. He is VERY fast and physical. He looks like a #1 receiver. A+

Toler had a nice pick on Luck and is fast to the ball, covered like a real NFL corner should and left me feeling like we a pretty well set at corner. Barring any injuries.A+

    Davis is Davis a true #1  A+

Landry is a freaking huge MONSTER. He reads the QBs eyes and breaks on the ball fast and covers very good in the passing game A+

Kerwynn Williams is a speed ball, hit the holes fast then turns on the burners. WOW he can fly.  He would be a great returner on special teams.

Brazill worked alot on returns and looked very good doing it. Also have alot of good catches in the passing game. Looks much improved from last year.

Whalen looked good in the passing game. Kid has great hands. Just not alot of speed there. But runs pretty good routes.

Alli in all we are a lot better off then we were last year all over the field. Both sides of the ball look very good for this early in the year. Not much rust on anyone.

The AFC South just got turned up a notch with this off season. We are going to shock some neah sayers this year.

This is only my opinion on what I saw today. Hope this helps some.

Thank you for helping me live vicariously through you!  It's great to hear. I think we have some great things to look forward to this season and I can not WAIT to see it all come to fruition this season!

  3. The base in Vallejo was closed by the federal government and had nothing to do with California, and in fact several local commercial entities are leasing the land and developing it.  It's also still used by the Coast Guard and the Army Reserve.  Also Fleet Week hasn't been cancelled.  Not sure where you got that from.  The Blue Angels cancelled their appearance, but Fleet Week is continuing as expected.  NYC cancelled their fleet week.

Also your piece about the "no chase" policy isn't entirely true.  The policy in place is that an officer has the directive to pursue the suspect unless it is deemed too dangerous due to weather/heavy traffic or if the "reason for apprehending the suspect is clearly outweighed by the danger to persons or property (e.g., when the only reason for the pursuit is traffic violations or a misdemeanor, or a non-violent felony)."  This is sensible policy that protects innocent people.  Armed robbery is a violent crime and justifies a pursuit, and is viewed that way by local PD.

While it's true that the city of Berkeley doesn't use K9 units, the UC Berkeley Police Department does, and they actively train police dogs there.

The incident about the military ships being docked in San Francisco is in reference to a plan by the Navy to park the USS Iowa here as a museum, which was rejected because "they don't want a ship from a military in which openly gay men and women cannot serve."

While this is a very liberal city, I have never met anyone who has been anti-military.  In fact, I have run into more people who appreciate our military and abhor our leaders' use of the men and women who serve in the military.  The people of San Francisco are very accepting of everyone, including military personnel.

And as far as "high crime rates," San Francisco has lower crime rates than Indianapolis with an almost identical population.  California has it's problems, no doubt.  But it's also full of wonderful people, and it's actually headed in a very good direction as far as social policy and expenditures.  The budget is finally starting to balance, and California is finally giving fewer handouts.

I will agree with you that there is a large difference between NorCal and SoCal.  I understand if you don't want to live here for personal reasons, but don't trash an entire state because you don't like it here.  It's a wonderful place to live for a ton of people, myself included.

Not sure where you are getting your info but much of it is not true. I work for a PD that Berkely calls us for their Canines btw... but I am not going to high jack this thread... been here 43 years so going off what I know to be true....

  4. I had to post this being we had the " gang" talk. Yesterday my husband and I were in Tracy Ca, about 90 mins from SF.... and we were in a shoe store This lady brough out a Red pair of nikes to this guy he looked at the shoes and said " are you trying to get me killed?"

He was referring to the Red and Norteno's I was talking about in my earlier post. Its sad a grown man wont buy a red pair of shoes for fear he would be shot. So yeah that's Cali for ya...

  5. Did you say that you are going to the niner's game?  I got caught up in all of the political discussion and now I'm too lazy to go back up and verify what you said earlier.  I'll be in a group of about 10 folks (my son and I are the only Colts fans in the group).  We will be sitting in section 40 on the visitors side (I believe).

I heard that you have to be more careful in the parking lot than in the stadium.

    HAAHAH

Yep were near the 30 yrd first row I'll get the exact location in a bit and let ya know. I think if we have a "pack " of us tailgating we'd have a lot of fuN!

  6. Hey now, don't you go messing with my preconceived notions :D I learned ALL l that I needed to learn about SF from Monk, Bullit, Grace Slick, Willie Mays, and a great Bill Cosby routine about Lombard Street. Oh, and Rice-a-Roni advertisements. haha

In other words, it spawned some good 60's music, stole one of our teams, has a big oddly colored bridge, and some REALLY steep streets - some with street cars on them. :P Are you saying there's MORE?

Actually the only think I can think of that might be relevant to this is that I've probably spent a 1,000 hours over the years listening to SF native Steve Summers on WFAN in NY. Aside from the oddity of growing up a Mets fan and always wanting to move to NY, I've never heard him say a bad word about the place.

Steve Summers is probably  a uber liberal who has drank the Kool Aid lol My husband is a native Hoosier and can not believe the non sense that is allowed out here... but that explains the billion dollar debt were in now too... We really should be two states though ,. Southern and Northern Cali. All our resources and water tend to get sent south... I could go on but then this thread would really be hi jacked! HAHAHA

  7. I have no idea what the attitude is to cops out there, but I doubt that being "liberal" (in it's common usage) has much to do with it. I've lived in NJ all my life - as "blue"  as CA. Whether or not anyone "likes" the police, they want PLENTY of them on the streets. I've never considered that to be a political issue. I know that CA has a significant military establishment in San Diego, and I thought elsewhere. Are you saying that the attitude is different from North to South? There are several installations in NJ and the common sentiment is "don't close that base, it's vital to the economy". I've never heard of anyplace that ASKED for a base to be closed.

As I alluded to earlier, there is plenty of security at stadiums here, and it is welcomed. I'm a Mets fan. In playoffs games they'll even have tons of mounted police to deter people from running onto the field. I'm pretty confident that the only people upset by this are the barely functional * who had their hearts set on committing vandalism. More likely reaction would be "cool, look at the horses", or "I'm glad that I don't have to clean up after them".

I'll look up Hunters point later. Ironically there's a Hunters Point adjacent to where the Mets play as well.

Sounds like you want to move to Indy though. : haha:

The term " liberal" I have learned means a totally different thing out here then east of us. They are crazy. And yes there is a HUGE difference North to South and even in the little area of SF. SF is anti Military, anti enforcement then wonder why they have high crime rates. Don't get me started on Berkely! They can not have Canine units because the public seems them as " too aggressive" and they have an " anti chase " policy. Which means if you rob a bank they wont chase you.

SO yeah liberalism I learned from talking to mid west and East coast ppl means something entirely different out here. They simply have lost their minds and think everything is free and everyone is kind....

Research the Military and SF they closed them , kicked them out refused to allow the ships to be in the docks... they tried kicking them off campuses until the government said  " hey we help fund you so we'll take that with them" and now they are back. But yes even fleet week had been canceled.

I am not making this up.. Across the bay in Vallejo they closed a base too. Thousands lost their jobs... so yes I want to move to INDY the second I can get out of here!

  8. OH n remember in this "liberal area they don't like security or cops much ;0) they don't think they are needed. Heck SF kicked the military out of the city !! Its a whole different mentality then what your probably use to out here.. thus why the day I can move Im outta here!

also look up " Hunters point".. its next to the stadium but this is the last year for the stadium in this area. Its moving to Santa Clara ( filled with gangs and high crime but a better neighborhood)...

  9. Well again I have personally seen the changes.. and don't let the media fool you, SF is a poop hole (  I work for a transit police department that goes through SF) Beleive me there is a lot of gang activity out here. But your right its not just here. I think we keep it under wraps better maybe? I mean there are so many stereo types associated with California and as a native I can debunk many.

I agree that less alcohol should be served because liquid courage is what gets most of these people in trouble. I thought the same thing about how the heck are these guys affording the tickets!!!?? But next time you watch a game, pay close attention the peope in the stand that they are panning on. You'll see the shift in who's sitting in the seats. It actually makes me mad.

But yeah don't be fooled there is a huge asian gang issue out this way and that side of the bay too.. so add the Hispanic with Asian gangs and fights erupt. SO some of these fights may not be because your the opposing team fan, these fights may be niner on niner action.

But all this said. I am wearing my Blue n White.... try me!

  10. I'm sure that everyone thinks that it's worse somewhere else - although in some cases people take pride in the reputation and reinforce it.

Philly is supposed to be horrible, but I've been to 4-5 of their games and never noticed anything unusual - even tail-gaiting. Everyone is just having fun, and then some dip in a Cowboys jersey will go strutting past looking for attention, and he will get teased unmercifully. But it's not like they knife them on sight. Yet the fans are proud of their tough reputation ("they even booed Santa Claus"). I've been to Jets games and it seemed pretty similar to me.

A small element of EVERY teams fanbase will tend to drink too much and look for trouble. Whether it's a common problem probably has more to do with how well the team handles security (and alcohol sales, and the tail-gaiting section) than it does with any innate danger of the population. San Francisco is a diverse city with a good reputation to my knowledge. I doubt that "that's where the gangsters are".

Google it but here is one of many articles ( I googled: niner fan base violence 2012) see all the hits ....

Actually the gangsters are there now. Thats why it cracks me up that no one talks about it. Red is the  " norteno" colors and you are getting many of them in attendance of the games. Last year got really violent and they had to step up security.  They are not the " wine and cheese" fans of the 80's. The fan base has really changed. Again I have been here all my life and have seen it. I am more concerned about going to that game then I am the Raider games. But I am also one that has fun and banters with others .. I am not disrespectful but I wont take crap either. But yeah the niner fan base has changed ... trust me

  12. Great article. FYI, Stanford is NOT in Palo Alto. It is, well, in Stanford. Palo Alto is one of the cities that borders on the 8000 acre Stanford campus.

There's always that ONE in the crowd! LOL

I was born in Mt View just down the street lol....

  13. If you will be at the SD game let me know. I wouldnt mind meeting up with another Colts fan. Its hard to hold up the Colts Fort on your own.

Will do, I am calling Miss Mona and were going to co ordinate so we can all sit together. What section are you in? For the Niner game we are first row by the visitors side 30 yard.

  14. I'm getting tickets to the SF game.  I live in CA (central coast) and have family in the bay area.  I'm toying with the idea of wearing my colts garb to the game.  I will be with a large group of people (some of whom will be wearing 49er garb).  I'm hoping that there won't be any violence.  After all, we're not going to Oakland (guaranteed violance there).

Oakland is not a problem I have gone three times and each time head to toe Colts attire, I think its a myth.. San Diego is where that man was stabbed at a Baseball game and the Niner stadium is where under cover cops are .... I dislike most niner fans and prefer Raider fans over them. I am a Bay Area native of 43 years and not sure why they have the rep for fighting . Must be the crazy outfits they wear to look hard but the gangsters are in SF...

  15. OH and i have sat in the black hole in Oakland in all Colts attire and have had no problems. You may get heckled here n there but its all in fun.. just watch your tone and rememebr your in someone elses house... I have not had a problem but Niner fans are worse then Raider fans.. yall wont beleive me but its true. They are more thug like then getting credit for thus why they had under cover cops at the play off games last year.. Just sayn

  16. Bought my niner tickets last week and will be looking to get Chargers maybe tonight ( trying to co ordinate with another Colts fan to meet up).. I would love to meet other fans ! I live in the bay area so I am about 90 minutes from the Niner Stadium !
