1. Andrew Luck, QB
2. BPA
3. Alameda Taamu, NT
4. Orson Charles, TE
5. Tommy Streeter, WR

One or two WRs for depth in later rounds, we can get a starter next year
One or two TEs one early and one later
One or two OGs depth woth potential
One Nose Tackle starter
One CB for depth
-
Yes, but no, look at the roster, we need starters at TE, OG, NT.
1. Andrew Luck, QB
2. BPA
This way no one will fight, this roster needs all the talent it can get
3. Alameda Taamu, NT
Or Josh Chapman, Grigson needs to get a starter at NT somewhere between round 2 and 4
4. Orson Charles, TE
Starter at TE
5. Tommy Streeter, WR
Or Ryan Broyles, Dale Moss. He can learn behind Reggie for a few years
5. DeQuan Menzie, CB
Depth
6. Gino Gradkowski, OL
Depth
7. Joe Long, OL
Depth
7. Miles Burris, OLB
Depth
7. Chris Owusi, WR
Deep threat
All the players listed as depth can become starters at some point
-
I would go for BPA, this roster need all the talent it can get. We have no young pro bowlers, so I would follow the board
-
1. Andrew Luck, QB
2. Peter Konz, OC
3. Alameda Taamu, NT
4. Orson Charles, TE
5. Ryan Steed, CB
5. James-Michael Johnson, LB
6. Junior Hemingway, WR
-
Agree. With my draft there, our Offense would read:
Wayne - TE Green - LT Castonzo - LG Zeitler - C Satele - RG Ijalana - RT Justice - WR Collie - Streeter/Avery
QB Luck
FB Rodriguez
HB Brown
Defense:
FS Bethea - SS Zbikowski
CB Boykin - ILB Conner - ILB Angerer - CB Powers
OLB Freeney - DE Moala - NT McKinney/Baptiste - DE Redding - OLB Mathis
I think things could be a lot worse.
I believe Thomas would start over boykin because he has more talent and we need a starting nose tackle, i think taamu would be great in the third round, hicks or jean baptiste would be developmental rotation guys, I am not high on getting
-
Yeah, Green + Rodriguez in mid rounds should be okay - if not then we could get Tyler Eifert next year perhaps?
My plan would be get a TE that can start this year and Rodriguez ar FB/H-B and next year draft a TE in a strong draft class for TE's and let Eldridge go when his contract is up and have to quality TE's and a great FB/H-B
-
In my mock draft I took him, because we'll be playig more I-form and two receiver formations, so we have to get good O-linemen(guards for Gods sake) and athetic TE's at least two, Fleener or Charles or Hanna or Rodriguez
-
Thanks im glad you liked it, the last one I did was terrible
-
1. Andrew Luck, QB
Starter
2. Janoris Jenkins, CB
Starter
3. Mohamed Sanu, WR
Future starter, good depth/slot
4. Josh Chapman, NT
Starter, splits time with mckinney
5. James Hanna, TE
Starter at TE, we could get a better TE next year
5. DeQuan Menzie, CB
Great depth at nickel or dime
6. Miles Burris, OLB
Depth, situational pass rusher
7. Evan Rodriguez, FB
Strarter at FB
7. Adrien Cole, ILB
Depth at LB
7. Chris Owusu, WR
Deep threat depth

Colts Mock 1.0
1. Andrew Luck, QB
2. Kevin Zeitler, OG
Someone has to protect Luck or he will become David Carr, Justice is not a starter
3. Alameda Taamu, NT
A starting NT is needed, not a developmental, he will anchor the defense
4. Orson Charles, TE
He would become a top target for Luck and could fill the need at TE
5. DeQuan Menzie, CB
He would be great depth, he comes from Alabama, and was part of a top defense
5. Vontaze Burfict, ILB
Would be a low risk high reward
6. Miles Burris, OLB
Depth, could challenge for starting spot in a year
7. Audie Cole, LB
Depth
7. Joe Long, OL
Depth, could be starter with good coaching
7. Chris Owusu, WR
Deep threatÂ
QB: Luck, Stanton, Vittatoe

He goes to KC and leads them to playoffs as wildcard along Pats, Ravens, Texans, Broncos and Colts

better wide receivers to be had in the 3rd round and Im not taken linebacker that early in the 5th I would rather go Tight End and corner is a huge need Id go 2nd with Corner those are all good picks though but just not where I would take them except Owusu
1. The colts want to run more, they'll use more 2wide receiver sets
2. Orson Charles will cover up the TE spot
3. I believe we were better defending the pass than the run, and we need to protect Luck
4. Everything starts on the treches, thomas and rucker can be coached, as ladarius webb was
-
Menzie would be a solid pickup. But I don't know if I would take Rodriguez. He is a small TE who isn't faster than safeties. Plus, if we take Charles in the 4th, I don't think another TE later on would be a big need.
Your argument is valid
My mock;
1. Andrew Luck, QB
2. Kevin Zeitler, OG
3. Alameda Taamu, NT
4. Orson Charles, TE
5. DeQuan Menzie, CB
5. Vontaze Burfict, LB
6. Mike Harris, CB
7. Adrien Cole, LB
7. Ryan Miller, OG
7. Chris Owusu, WR

I don't know about everyone else, but I follow what Walter Football says and I really like their analysis. Here's what they have for us this upcoming draft (they only have 6 rounds done so far). I linked each player to his NFL.com Combine Profile Page where you can learn more about his strengths/weaknesses. The stuff written underneath each pick's name is my opinion of the pick
Round 1 - Pick 1 (1): Andrew Luck - QB - Stanford
No explanation needed here
Round 2 - Pick 2 (34): Alshon Jeffery - WR - South Carolina
He has tons of potential. Not an elite route runner and doesn't have insane speed, but he will jump up to get balls and is a big target (6'3"). He isn't the best route runner in the world, but with coaching and some advice from vets like Wayne and Collie, that should improve. Here is Walter Football's scouting report of him
Round 3 - Pick 3 (64): Alameda Ta'amu - NT - Washington
Solid NT to be the anchor of our 3-4. Won't do much in terms of pass rushing, but can defend the run well. In Walter Football's scouting report of him, they say he is a poor man's Casey Hampton.
Round 4 - Pick 4 (97): Orson Charles - TE - Georgia
A strong TE with reliable hands and could be a good blocker.
Round 5 - Pick 5 (136): Coty Sensabaugh - CB - Clemson
Has tons of potential, but will need lots of reps in practice and in games
Round 5 - Pick 6 (170): Vontze Burfict - ILB - Arizona State
Walter Football's scouting report compares him to Ray Lewis. His character issues have been well documented. He has all the potential in the world, but needs to stay out of trouble. Our locker room doesn't have the leaders of a locker room like the Ravens, but if we do draft him, I would look to Pagano, Mathis, and Freeney to make sure he stays out of trouble.
Round 6 - Pick 7 (206): Mike Harris - CB - Florida State
NFL.com's analysis has him rated in the low 70s, which would be a steal in round 6. From what they list as his weaknesses, it seems like they can all be overcome with getting more reps/playing time.
--
That's all they have so far. I will update it once they add the 7th round. What do you guys think? I personally love the selection of Mike Harris, but I don't know if he will last that late.
I would change sensabaugh for dequan menzie and mike harris for evan rodriguez, yes austincollie17, i gos the rodriguez idea from you
-
I would go for morris claiborne or luke kuechly or justin blackmon/michael floyd
-
We are rebuilding the team, I believe we need as much talent as posible, I,d take the best player available in each round
-
I have to disagree with all of your points except that NT and TE are bigger needs (debatable). Our depth chart at corner looks awful. Rucker and Thomas were both embarrassingly bad last year. Corner is one of the most crucial positions in football, especially in a 3-4 where they have to have man coverage skills. The NFL is a quarterback's league. Pass coverage is nearly as important (if not equally) than pass rush, particularly when the unit has little talent and are learning a different system.
They looked awful because they had little experience with no offseason because of the lockout
-
That's not dire need when we just signed a good one. WR, TE, CB, maybe even OG.
What good one? McKinnie is not a starter
