This thread is a place to react to cuts as they come in so we can keep the cutdown tracker thread clean of just cuts so people don’t have to search the whole thread just to find the cuts.

So far I’ve seen Drake and Adams.  Not surprised by either.  I don’t think Drake showed brought something that was a significant upgrade over who they already have even without Taylor.

I surprise just a little they cut Strachan, But he was injured so maybe that contributed.

My not using any common sense? Oh. You mean “you’re.” Sorry.

They shouldn’t HAVE to announce that their rookie QB won’t be playing behind a line made out of tissue paper in a meaningless preseason game AFTER they said he had two great days of practice against them. Is this your first preseason game? I’ve been to a few, and I don’t recall them ever announcing that Peyton or Andrew weren’t playing. I didn’t get upset and start ranting online about it.

Sorry you think I made “terrible” comments, but you’re crying about spilled milk.

Well, there plenty ppl upset at the game as I was there. I knew he wouldn’t play because they were keeping it under wraps to sell tickets end of story.

A - No owner or coach is EVER going to say “yeah we want to trade this guy.”

B - It should have been expected with the new way teams are practicing. Why trot AR out there with a line made up of 2nd/3rd/PS guys and risk him getting injured for a meaningless game?

    Use some freaking common sense.

Your not using any common sense I was just saying they should have told us he wasn’t playing is all I saying read before you make terrible comments.

He's still sushi-raw.  He's still a young QB with a lot to learn.  He's still gonna make rookie mistakes.  But he showed he's not shell-shocked by the NFL.  He's not overwhelmed.  Give him as much work as he can handle.

Yeah, fans are going to have to be patient.

Sure he does. But that’s not the market, hasn’t been the market in a couple years and isn’t likely to be the market again.

the only way this market goes back up is if players at RB stop coming out for the draft en masse. Supply and demand

Well, the Colts never have heard on to RB's real long if you look at history. So I guess Colts don't value the running back position even without the league value.

4 million per year is pretty much minimum wage for football players.  Again, you can’t compare NFL players to everyday pay it’s apples to oranges.  If you were making way less than what others who work in your profession are making you’d want a pay raise too.

I am not saying Taylor is going to get it or is going about it the right way but I understand why he wants it.

I'm a believer in Taylor's stance he deserve better than the way he's being treated.

JK.  I don't think it's ridiculous.  I think it's reality, and I have predicted as much on this site that the league has been devaluing RBs for a few years and that it was going to continue to go that direction.

You pay great players and Taylor is a great player if the best on the team at least one of them. Depending how Richardson pans out.

  8. A RB is a receiver, a blocker and of course runs the ball. A WR is a blocker and catches the ball if they get a ball. The RB does all three and at least one on every offensive play. So, to say RB is less valuable than as receiver to me is ridiculous especially one that is as good as Taylor is. So, I don't blame Taylor for his frustration in all this. I love Taylor and he would probably lead the league in rushing again.  They should sign him and make him happy and be done with it. I mean could you imagine how good the running game could be with Richardson and Taylor. I mean Ballard made it seem like it was Taylor's fault for our faliures last season and it absolutly wasn't  the o-line played terrible last season and Taylor was injured. I mean there were alot issues in many areas last season that caused our very bad play last season sign him and be done with this already.

    FWIW:

If you take a look at the Taylor contract thread, there’s a big discussion about this.

No one thinks Taylor is hurt.  Both Ballard and Irsay have recently said JT is fine and ready to go.   Also, the Colts first put out a small list of PUP players, just two, and Taylor wasn’t one.   Then hours later suddenly Taylor was out on the list with no real public explanation.   But privately, off the record, some Colts officials were saying this will be a short stay and he’d be back in a few days.

If you scroll thru the conversation in the other thread speculation is the team is trying to remove the spotlight from being on Taylor, perhaps lower the temperature.  No one thinks JT is hurt.

Hopefully, things are better within a week or so….

    Just some good for thought….

Yeah, I've been having the same thoughts as you. I heard tonight that Taylor's agent is very upset with Irsay's comment on the state of the RB of running back market right now. So this could get ugly I hope not I love Taylor.

That's one of the puzzling things for me.  I see this one analysis on him over here, and it says he needs a lot of work.  And then I see this other analysis that says that he simply lacks positional versatility, which will drop him down the draft board, but he's going to be a great Right Tackle nearly right off the bat.  Which one is right?  And the answer is obviously:  however he turns out.  And there's no way to know that until they experiment with him and coach him.

Well, a good time to see what they got is at the scrimmage with the Bears. They should at least try him out. If it works out that would be great we need a right guard we could move Smith there.

My prediction is that they're gonna try, at least once, putting Blake Freeland at RT, and moving Smith inside.  At least once.

It’s worth a try but I hear Freeland needs strength and of course experience.
