  1. The make up of the team will create some advantages for the Colts. Teams will not be able to play us the same as in the past. They must respect the run and that should improve the o~lines ability to block N passing situations and every o lineman in the league would rather run block than pass block so our o line should be much improved just by adding Frank Gore. With the way our offense should be able to move the ball, defenses will be playing on their heels instead of with aggression. Opponents offenses will be playing catch up for most of the season so that will give the defense a chance to stop the pass, which is the one strong points of the defense. That doesn't mean teams will not try to run on us, but the improved defense must not lose focus and play well enough against the run to make teams pass the ball. The nfl is a game of match ups and I would match our team up against anyones(on paper that is as we have yet to play a game this year).

I jsy found out that the cbs affiliate here where I live will be showing the Bears game instead of our beloved Colts. I thought that I lived in Indiana and not Illinios. I know its northern Indiana, but geesh. I feel sorry for the Colts fans here!!

It's so hard to lose a parent. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss Indyswagger. It is so hard to cope with a monumental loss. My thoughts & prayers are with you at this difficult time.

@southwest, Thank you for the kind words. It was most definitely a monumental loss for us and our community. My mother was heavily involved with children, volunteering for an orphanage/school for needy kids, hospitals and retirement facilities. She has me involved now and it has changed my life. I no longer work and volunteer all my time to the same causes. Will always love her and miss her.

Your mother sounds like a very kind hearted woman always thinking of other peoples needs before her very own. Very admirable & philanthropic IMO. It's also very kind & caring on your part Indyswagger to volunteer your time to such a noble cause as well. That says a great deal about your values & character as well my friend. Bravo Indyswagger! Please take a bow sir. Thank you.

  6. Last year at this time, we all waited with anticipation to see who the Colts were going to pick, either RG3 or our eventual pick Andrew Luck. There were few doubts as to who we would pick, but it was nice to see us relevant again after such a dismal season as 2011 was. Flip the switch to a year later and it is draft time again, with the team already headed in the right direction, this draft should not be as exciting as last years, but just as important. With the Colts nation having only one draft to use as a reference, I think it may be difficult to predict the direction the Colts will take in the draft. Obvious needs will be addressed, wether in the draft or free agency, you can count on that, but its the "diamonds in the rough" that intrigue me. T.Y was not a household name by any means and wound up being diamond who will shine even brighter with another season under his belt. Great pick there. Every draft class has a few of the guys hanging around, waiting to get discovered, lets hope the Colts can strike lightning again and find another "diamond'!!
  7. Still riding high from the big win. Its going to take some time to come down from that one

  8. What an incredible game from all aspects. Sure, the first half left a lot to be desired, but the Colts brought it in the second half. Donald Brown looked great, it has been a long time since he was relevant in a game and he could not have picked a better game to step it up. We all know that in order to run the ball we have to run block and the Colts did this with a hodgepodge of an o-line. Shipley and the rest of the o-line did ok. Luck was under pressure a lot during this game and his wheels kept us out of trouble, and he does have wheels, this kid can scramble. Luck looked more like Fran Tarkenton rather than the next Peyton Manning. That might be a stretch but I am still riding high from one of the biggest wins in recent history . Reggie, are you kidding me? This guy is ageless, his presence has to be reassuring to a young Q.B. like Luck. To know that you have a go to guy that will lay it all on the line has to be priceless. Words cannot express how I feel about Reggie. Defense, defense, defense. We appeared to be outmatched in the first half but thats why we play two halves. The second half was a completely different story all together, we took control of the game with the Powers interception and never looked back. The pressure we put on Rogers in the second half was the difference in the game, we collapsed his pocket and rattled his nerves. Minus the big run in the second half, I would say that the d-line did a great against the run. Way to go D! Mistakes were made, way too many penalties for one and the fair catch on the five yard line stand out, but the mark of a good team is that you can over come your mistakes and move on to the next play and the Colts did not disappoint us there. Great win and I hope we can continue to grow as a team. This is supposed to be a learning year for our young team and there are plenty of life lessons that these young guys can take from a game like this one.
  9. I know its Indiana and basketball is king, but there is something to be said about playing under the lights on Friday nights in Indiana!! GO ROCKIES!! (Plymouth High School)

On a cool Friday night......sure loved playing under those lights. I remember one game where it poured rain the entire game....we won by a whopping 6-0...one of the most fun games I ever played in. Funny....I had my one INT called back because my best friend blatently clipped on the play...the memories live of Friday night lights...and continue!! Thanks for the post!

  10. I thought he did a great job minus the few bad snaps out of the shotgun, I could not imagine how difficult that would be to do. Essex should be a pretty good pick up for us also, he is somewhat familiar with the Ariens system and that should give him a leg up, should that is. Time will tell which direction this line is headed
  11. Ive been looking around the net to try and see what is going on with Sampson and have not been able to find any info. This is a huge problem for us if he is not playing. The rag tag line did ok but some of those snaps made my heart skip a beat. I am a middle aged man and cannot take a whole lot of that. On the other hand, Essex looks like he may be a nice pick up for us, just got to get more acclimated to the system, which should not be that hard coming from Pittsburgh. I guess I may be worried about nothing since I have not seen any info on Sampsons injury. At least that what Im telling myself.
  12. Patience, patience, patience. Only time will tell whats in store for these new Colts. The maturation of a young player and team takes time. I suspect that we will be fine, just got to get through this season and take our lumps when needed
  13. Tough one for sure. Growing pains, growing pains, growing pains

Yes, it's time to roll out the Big Horseshoe Monster just like the Trojan Horse took their competition by surprise in the annals of history too. It's time to unleash the monster this week INDY & raise a lot of eyebrows out of sheer awe & amazement. :)

  18. I would imagine that you have been watching Peyton in Denver's pre season games and can see he is struggling right now. Im not saying that he will not turn it around, but he is not playing at the same level as he was when he wore the right uniform. A nerve injury is the kiss of death for a qb in todays league. The passes need velocity and timing, he does not have either yet. What Jim Irsay did was give Peyton the best chance at another superbowl, nothing more nothing less. Peyton and other players high salaries stood in the way of us getting the talent to re-load. We had been declining since 2009 and were in desperate need of young talent.
  19. Nice post, really....NOT. Where to start with what is wrong with this post. For one, you were NOT a Colts fan, you are a Peyton fan. The last time I checked he is still playing in Denver and you are more than welcome to join their fan forum and rave about him there. Secondly, Andrew Luck has shined at every level of the game he has played, the NFL will be no exception. I will always respect and admire Peyton for what he has done for our fair state and the great city of Indianapolis, but it is time for the city, state, team and fans to move on form the old and welcome the new. This is a business and a business decision was made, move on or move over
  20. Welcome to the Colts nation. We are glad you joined us! Very nice post
  21. Why in the world would a Steelers fan want to come to our camp anyways? I would believe he was there to draw attention to himself by wearing the disgusting Steelers jersey. You are correct by saying that no real Steelers fan would change jerseys, but this guy is like the rest of the steelers fans. As far as building a superbowl team year after year, they might just as long as you guys dont play Tebow again. LOSERS ,Fear the towel, LOL
  22. Wow, you would think that a Steelers fan would have more things to worry about than this, with an aging quarterback, diminished front line and aging defense.... just saying
